  1. Correct. It passed, as well it should have. Had Harris won, it would have also passed...but it would have been Republicans threatening the shutdown..... But, republicans would not have faced the same internal strife...I imagine there would have been some, but not to the level we see with Democrats. They needed to fight against their own CR, but could not. They have deprived themselves of political options through their pointless lying about Trump. Its time to stop it. They lost the election cycle, the entire vilification tactic failed. I suggest they try something else.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I see no issue in opposing tariffs, I think that one is likely OK strategically....it overlooks how beneficial it will be for use domestically, buy I cannot fault the move to oppose. I think Democrats care about the border though. I think they might not like the way Trump is doing it, anymore than Republicans like the way Democrats did it. But I think everyone can get behind a secure border. Imagine if instead o simply opposing they asked to meet and sort out some options. NOW... people see Democrats on board with a big issue for which they can steal back some support. And honestly, ending boys playing in girls sports is such an easy win, c'mon.....

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I always give more, its my thing
  4. I disagree. By way of example..... when the Democrats created a CR last fall that suddenly is decried as damaging today, because they want to ding Trump where ever possible......and they cannot do that simple thing because it is seen as working with Trump, and supporting the CR is being assailed because hey....you worked with the guy you have been saying is this big threat....and its dividing the party.....I think the vilification strategy is not working and is actually hurting you more than helping.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I might tend to disagree. Holding firm and fast to positions that the people do not want is not a winning strategy. Notably when Democrats actually do agree, but only oppose now because Trump took it away.
  6. Your position is that "both sides do it" and my point is .....so what....who is being hurt by doing it......the Democrats are....now I have explained why this is true.....multiple times....but people continue to defend it.....by saying...well ...those guys do it too!!! See, what you are doing then is also asserting that Trump....can now do after his political opponents.....because Demorats do it too!!!! But I do not concede that just because THEY are doing it .....we can too.... I mean, if that is your thing....by all means... BUT......if "yourthing".....manifests is lost elections.....and poor polling.....maybe stop copying them?
  7. Perfect. I already had that one, but glad you flagged it. NOW.....the next part. Correlate HIS usage.....to failing during the elections, AND...polling showing that the party is failing.... There are a few more steps to get you there, but you are on the right track now....
  8. I do not concur with this specific instance in how it is being presented. Now, if you would be so kind as to present evidence that someone in the Republican party or right-leaning media has taken this same topic and used it to suggest that Democrats are Hitler or authoritarian, or fascist......or promoting a civil war.....or any one of the array of other things that would then mean we should never work with Democrats I think your position would have more merit
  9. I avoided nothing, if you present your thoughts clearly they can be answered, I have no doubt that people on social media sent her nasty things, since that happens every day.....to everyone.....it makes sense that it would happen to her..... I think trotting out the racism angle is smart, because historically it has been used to great impact to dilute culpability.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I get what you are saying here. Maybe consider this, there is such a small segment of support available for the party when the party latches on to specialized positions that it inhibits their ability to secure spots in congress and the white house. You simply cannot allow Trump to have uncontested ownership of every 80% issue.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

Thank you for this thoughtful response. I think Democrats should start positioning for a post-Trump political environment. Consider that if they are not simply opposing Trump.....what do they have? I think they need to discover that is and start working toward it. Even if that work happens to result in them having some small or temporary agreement with Trump. JMHO

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I think it could be true that an honest evaluation, notably where it might be critical, is just something that some of our friends who lean left are not welcoming of...... I think in part its due to this notion that only the liberals are correct, so to honestly assess them is to challenge this notion. It rarely turns out well.

    Trump vacates Biden's pardons

Regardless, I love it because it works. If the outcome is good, keep it up. If the outcome is bad, stop doing it. As long as they stick to that model, all good.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

No, the real magic here would be Democrats moving forward in a way that is not self-destructive. I think a healthy Democrat party is needed and necessary, We no longer have that. Restoring the party to what it once was, means better results for the American people. Shedding the radical ideas and elements, allowing them to have their own separate party, is good for the nation.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I love history, it can be useful. I think the real magic of history here would be for Democrats to stop being opposition for the sake of simply opposing, and instead start to stand for something people care about, even if that something happens to be something the Republicans also care about. You are cutting of your noses to spite your face. Its not working.

    Trump vacates Biden's pardons

I am not entirely sure. I think its the net result of course, clearly if we watch the outcomes....it absolutely is the result. But is it "planned" or is it just Trump being Trump, and who he is naturally trolls the people who lack the thought capacity to understand they are being played?

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

I just explained the problem to you. If you need more evidence than the recent election and polling, I may not be able to help you much. I think it best to allow the radicals to walk, form their own 3rd party. Then the remaining Democrats, the historically normal folks can start to lure centrists back, and the Democrat party can likely get back to some strength.

    Trump vacates Biden's pardons

Correct. But trolling the Democrats and their media allies is always on the menu. Flooding the zone, resulting in the fevered reporting response limits their ability to go after more legitimate stuff. He should come out with one of these per week.
  19. RIght. I mean, because....its always there, amirite?

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

YOU....do not really need to. YOUR party on the other hand, does....and it does it so effectively that now any attempt to adjust their approach is met with internal strife. So now they dare not deviate, for to do so results in drawing the ire of the radical.
  21. RLLD

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

No, that is not the problem. The problem is evidenced by the election and now the polling. The strategy of vilification of those who think differently is failing, at every turn. Its failing because the strategy has a flaw.....simply oppose, without thought....because others are evil. This has resulted in Democrats owning the 20% side of every issue, and because they hav taught their core base to ONLY hate.....any adjustment to be normal is met with internal revolt.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

The simple truth is the polling, telling you what the problem is......I mean.....your problem is not with me....its with the people feeding those polls
  23. RLLD

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

It is absolutely true. Until you recognize the problem that has been created, fixing it will be challenging. But here you are.....the party is polling at its lowest point in 30 years ( likely longer) because you have lost the centrists due to the pointless opposition doctrine, and now that Schumer did not oppose simply to oppose....the radicals are turning. It might be better to let the radicals walk and create their own party.....and return to sanity, luring back the centrists....there are more of them than anything else.

    The Democrat Party Dilemma

If "I" were the one deluded.....Republicans would be polling as Democrats are right now. Reality can be a real b!tch.....cant it?
