No, Republicans have not done this in the way you have described it. But every day we are made aware of the evils of Republicans, Trump......MAGA....its a different approach which has resulted in the erosion of the voter base ( evidenced in the last election) and now the polling tells us that Democrats are at an all time low favorability because they are not opposing Trump hard enough.....they are not leaning into the thing that was integral to them losing the WH, the Senate and the house.... They just need to stop the vilification, it will allow them to have more political options, that is all I am saying.

If that is your ingestion of what I am saying it explains the Democrats issues perfectly. You do you, your folks are polling in a way you should learn from of course, but maybe you will learn later.

Republicans are not boxed into a corner with anything they have done......Democrats are. Looking at the disparity in the polling and shrugging it off with "yeah but Republicans" suggests you do not think Democrats need to change.....need to adjust their approach in a way that does not box them in.....but they do need to change....and if it were to arise that Republicans faced a similar problem, they would need to change.....but they dont yet face that problem. So sure, have at it. In fact, I have not yet observed Democrats having that "aha" moment either. So its no wonder they continue to struggle more and more.

I think she would be foolish to NOT find some racism angle to toss out there. It a perfect way to diminish any scrutiny or accountability. They were in a tough spot given the context of the situation, but kudos to them for finding a way.

But the polling bears my assertion out. They poll low because they want more opposition to Trump. But Trump has latched on to the 80% side of every issue, so their simple opposition results in more centrists moving away. The Republicans dont have this problem, so simply replying "yeah, but Republicans too" is a complete cop out.....

No, it really is not. I think there are those one both sides who hold such views. But Republicans do not made the "other side" some great evil as Democrats have done. That is why we see some defections from the liberal side resulting in being added to the Republican. By using this tactic of "they are all so evil" they have effectively removed opportunities for collaboration. Which moves centrists away from them, and if they do not stick to it, they lose their base....its a problem

I can get with this approach. I think it makes more sense generally speaking. There are two sides to this coin, there is "politics" and then there is "reality". I think a good politician understands how to balance the two. I remain more or less opposed to using the stock market as a measure of economic success. This is a position I held back in Trumps first term when the market was doing well, even then I was opposed to using it as an indicator. I think the wrestling of inflation into control is job "A", but then we have to wring out the inflation that was forced upon us, which will take longer. And I think we should expect significant job growth, and of the many things that influence inflation in a meaningful way, job creation is certainly in the top 5. So as the job market heats up, the Fed will need to be ready.....

It does look that way, and even CNN isn't trying to deny it. Strategically, if they are going to lie, they should do so in a way that allows them more maneuverability later. By boxing themselves in as that are with the lie that things are going poorly, it actually hurts them far more.

I think Democrats are playing the economy in the wrong way. I see them as setting themselves up a little. I know their goal is always "Trump bad!!" and no matter what find some way to denigrate anything, regardless of its positive value. BUT.....all this doom-saying about the economy could really backfire on them. Trump clearly knows how to make the economy work for the average person, he did it once, and he likely is able to do it again. Instead of the lies around "everything is going so bad"......instead.....they should limit their attacks in that arena, for now, and wait so they can instead pretend the improvements are somehow Bidens to own. Strategically, lying that this is Biden's economy is better than lying that things are going so bad. JMHO

Positive reinforcement works. People see a way to exploit a system for their benefit, they likely will do so.

I am not enthused with ignoring the courts. I think they need to accept the role of the judiciary not simply for its natural role in checks and balances, but also for the propaganda. Ignoring the courts gives credibility to the lefts "authoritarian" game they want to play. I think it unwise to flirt with this approach. Think of this also, later should the Democrats...or what ever party replaces them, hold power and the only means available to Republicans to protect us from that party is the courts....we surely would want them to respect it, right? We cannot BECOME what liberals have.....we have to resist that urge.
