Who Is Rachel Maddow's Partner? All About Susan Mikula
RLLD replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
Maddow is actually a good communicator with immense talent. It is unfortunate she wastes that talent being so divisive and partisan. Imagine if instead she stopped being so biased and focused her energy on holding all power accountable and unifying people? Just such a waste..... -

Do not presume her message of racist intolerance and hate is going anywhere. -

This is good news. Few people have spewed as much racism and hate as this repugnant piece of filth. Its a shame it could not happen sooner. She had years to preach hatred and division. I doubt they replace her with anything much better. But this is one in a long line of partisans being ejected, its hopeful -
I would discourage you from holding this position. This is how liberals conduct themselves, through hate and cancellation. Lets be better than that. I understand the feeling and desire to do it back to them, to make them suffer under their own behaviors, but to what end? I see us only losing. Instead, lets be better, more common sense and more sanity. Lets grow the team by having those who are sane and normal make their way over. We grow, we get stronger and in the end all those hateful people are relegated to smaller and smaller influence. Lets rely on good people making good decisions and leaving liberalism of their own volition

I do not see dominance by a single party as being healthy for the nation. I think it would be even more healthy if we could have more than two. I think we need the real Democrat Party back, the non-radical and sane party. Our system, and we by extension, benefit from the conflict of ideas. Better ideas arise when we allow positions to be energetically challenged. The Democrats now refuse to allow competition of ideas.

Perhaps. later maybe.

I am satisfied with the pursuit and impact so far. I do want to keep the pressure on, the criminals that were allowed in MUST be removed. The American people deserve to be protected.

I dont think there is any reason for us to argue about this. I think both liberal and conservative can look at this as a win. Conservatives can enjoy reasonable and sane people DO exist on the left, here are some easy examples. It shows us that good people can be liberals. This is not a win because we enjoy more sensible people, but that we can have people around who disagree AND are not batsh!t crazy. For liberals this is a win as well. Eventually these people will come back to you all.Through this exodus of the good folks it should be possible to eventually chase the nutjobs out of the party.

I appreciate the thoughtful response. I look at the FISA situation and I see it as a symptom of a wider problem when taken in context with the other bad actions. We now know that the Steele dossier was funding by the Clinton campaign through Fusion GPS, so when we look back at how Clinton portrayed the situation, and that she knew full well it was her who made it up....then we look at the actions of the FBI, I see them as either inept or complicit. If this were isolated, and we did not have the other malfeasance I might be willing to consider it just ineptitude. But I dont feel that way today. When you look at it all next to each other, the overcharging, the stretching of legal precedent, and the more recent revelations, it becomes more and more easy to suggest that it was all done just to take Trump down. Had they not gone so far over the top with it all, I think it would be easier to defend.

LA Wildfires, 100K people evacuated and counting
RLLD replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
I think those areas that were burned down are not habitable in their current context, so it makes alot of sense to relocate those folks until they can rebuild it to support habitation, if they choose to return....not unlike what is proposed for Gaza/ -

Aren't we expecting these people to remain in that hell hole? I mean, that is what we expect for the Palestinians....so why arent we making those people go back in there and live? -
Well, I understand your point of view here. But I think its more of an aside to my point. Still, if you presume the patriarchy is not by design, then it was a natural occurrence due to inherent biological systems and therefore should not be messed with. And, I might note that the areas where we have seen the most egalitarian systems we also see the system drift toward what is being called "patriarchucal"..... as it seems when given more freedoms and fewer restrictions the differenced are accentuated.....the system naturally becomes that traditional model....we are built to succeed through this system..... but I digress. Of course Democrats have allowed unfettered migration to enhance their power. But I submit.....this is backfiring on them. These people want no part of the extremes that liberals now extol
-
Hmmmm, no, not going to let you off the hook here. Patriarchy as defined by the leftist media is A society is patriarchal to the degree that it promotes male privilege by being male-dominated, male-identified, and male-centered. It is also organized around an obsession with control and involves as one of its key aspects the oppression of women." So then there has been this push against this thing that is asserted to hold down minority groups....well not Asians since this magical patriarchy was crafted to somehow exclude them Now, if liberals want to tout these terms, and ideas, to include "implicit bias" and suggest that there is reason to push back against these things.....then I am within my right to hold that Democrats have allowed immigration, and I can push back by calling it out. During his presidential campaign in 2020, Biden pledged to reverse restrictive immigration policies from the previous administration. He proposed a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, reinstatement of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and an increase in refugee admissions. His approach was to increase the migration. Again, if Democrats had any notion that these folks would be Republican voters, they would have protected the border, as Trump has done in just a few weeks....

I’m starting to understand you better @RLLD you think the Democratic Party deliberately caused the current immigration mess. Yes, I absolutely believe this. And in part due to their words. You think the MsM deliberately lies to us about tariffs. Not just tariffs, but also Russian Collusion, the Hunter Biden laptop, the presence of inflation, the state of the economy, Trump being Hitler and on and on.... You think Zelensky is deliberately prolonging the war in order to stay in power. No, this is not what I believe about Zelensky You imagine an ordered world and see schemes everywhere. If you are no assuming schemes, notably at the highest levels, I think you are being a bit naive....history shows us we need to distrust power. You think all this stuff is intricately planned by competent people with ulterior motives. Yes, but I might also note that I think most of those in power are self serving, and work to retain their power first....and help the people second Someday you will realize the truth: we don’t live in an Orwellian world, we live in a Kafkaesque world. There is no order; nobody knows what the Fock is going on most of the time, very little is planned at all. In order to believe this you then would have to accept there is no patriarchy, or structural racism, or implicit bias or sexism that drives disparity in incomes etc....are you sure....you want to make that stand right here?
-
Please. They happily allowed people in, and of course it was because they assumed these were future Democrat voters..... C'mon....if they had an inkling that those people might vote Republican they would have built a 200 ft wall across the entire south. It was absolutely strategic. And frankly, it was pretty darn smart. Except, Trump wont back down from the challenge to remove people here illegally.

LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
You should care. Rather than putting troops in harms way, and having people die, we should be solving our issues in non-combative ways. This nation has lost its ability to influence and we need to restore that ability, Tariffs represent a way for us to influence, secure positive outcomes, with minimal harm domestically. That you fail to see the genius in this move is understandable. I do not see many people who really grasp global geo economic strategies. I have the fortune of having worked for a global company and experience in this area. YOU....can be forgiven, but Democrat leaders....cannot. -
LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I have already spoken to that point. And my position remains. Tariffs are but a small part of a much larger equation and economy, If you want to believe that raising tariffs is some sort of inflationary act we should care about, that is fine....but the truth is that while you can argue that they might have an influence...its perhaps .01% influence....it is not what CNN...MSDNC...or the rest are trying to sell you. They are selling you fear about something that does not exist....not unlike when they called Trump huitler...or authoritarian or any of those other lies... The MAIN influence from tariffs is a profound enhancement of revenue generation, those costs are not passed along to the consumer in the way they are telling you. They are lying..to you...again....and later, when they admit they were lying, i will again....come to you and ask why you keep believing them.... -

RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I do not ignore it, instead I note that it hurts other more than us. They have to accept a much higher level of hurt. We can handle it better than they. So if they want to fock around, they will find out. And if you are a politician abroad, you might find that you lose favor so fast....you dare not test us. Rather than leverage the strategy of threatening with our military, we need to once again possess the ability to influence. -
I do not care if the FBI is "conservative" or anything else. They violated the sanctity of their role. I am familiar with this move to suggest that "well, they are conservative you cannot criticize them"....but I wont buy it. The people leading the FBI need to go, whether they voted for Trump.....are "conservative"..... or any other irrelevant factor. By their behaviors in executing their role, they have lost the right to remain employed there.

LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
RLLD replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Sweet jesus, you just proved my point!!! Thank you. 1970's.....focking energy, no sh!t eh? How about that.... And there were discussion by Biden to adjust tariffs in 2022....which of course they did NOT do, because they realize that would be focking stupid....so, good on them for that... You sure.....you wanna trot out Argentina...as your proof for economic improvements through tariffs? Clearly you did not research that ... if you had you would know that their actions may have included tariffs, but that was not the solution....they implemented the Convertibility Plan, which provided a hard currency anchor. Trade liberalization was a complementary effort that increased competition and helped lower domestic prices. Did it work? Lets see....while tariff reductions potentially helped curb inflation and modernize the economy, it also led to increased imports and a decline in domestic manufacturing competitiveness. By the late 1990s, Argentina was dogged by rising unemployment and external debt problems related to those reductions in tariffs....raising the tarifs was a better solution, but they only figured that out AFTER they focked it up all it did was lead to a deep recession and a sovereign debt default. Hey, lets absolutely talk about an 1846 economic action in an agrarian society as your proof, by all means.... The immediate effect on inflation was minimal because it was a focking stupid idea. Additionally, global grain markets remained volatile due to the famine, which kept food prices high in the short run. Now you could argue that later in the 1850's prices actually lowered....but I will need you to prove that in those ten years nothing else in the economy influenced it...or are you suggesting that we would have to wait 10 years to see inflation from tarrifs? The actual impact was of course not inflation influence....it was an expansion of access to global markers....but dont let that get in the way of your poor misrepresentation -
OK, that was pretty good.....

I am referring to the strategy to allow all those immigrants to come it. Part of the Democrats thought process was that it would be too much effort and too costly to remove them...... I think as a strategy that is sound. But you would need a normal politician in the white house for that to work. Trump will still remove them. I surmise they Democrats were just confident that they would either going to he holding power or Trump would never get back in, so they were confident they could flood the nation with people they thought would be future Democrat voters. Well, Trump won, and that is a big problem for them and this strategy. But, I also would not that hispanics did not vote as they expected. This was something I called out on this site in the past and was lambasted for doing.....by our more conservative friends. My point was this.....Democrats made a mistake thinking that by just allowing all these people in they could suppress their opposition through hispanic voting because these folks are cultural conservatives, and they were running away from all these people that Democrats were now allowing it.

Fantastic. I should be easy for you to then produce an example, from any time, where tariffs were adjusted....to fight inflation....right? I mean, they are so influential on inflation that we obviously used them to fend it off. You can of course look, but you will not find any such example. because tweaking tariffs has no tangible influence on inflation. The economy is too big for tariffs to move the needle. -
I see your point. I think that was perhaps part of the calculus of opening the border..... I think in terms of strategy, that is a good one. I think Trump is a different animal. I think he looks at the strategy, and chuckles...and says..."watch me do it".... the calculus on the part of politicians who thought this was an easy win was based on what a "normal" politician would do, they would protect their own interests first....Trump is less that guy so much as the guy who says....fock you, I will do it....
