Yes, and what are people saying? They are calling him out for not protecting more of the city......well, then elect him if that is what you people want, dont be so focking stupid as to elect a Democrat
-
the voters elected Bass over Caruso, I bet they wish they could do that over Hell, Caruso already had hired help to fight off potential fires two days before the fires started.....THAT....is what a focking leader does......
-
I do not concur, she is far worse thana stereotypical politician

I do find Hirono to be in competition with Schiff for worst human.......

Sure, and Obama being the superlative orator he is, succinctly captured it in a phrase that we can leverage easily moving forward.
-
No one is blaming Obama for anything, quite the contrary, he is being held up for the standard he projected, using his words is indicative of their value.

Israel-Hamas cease-fire deal proves Trump’s a better prez out of office than Biden was in it

The promise of peace is the threat. Inching closer to anything that appears to be conciliatory or accepting of Israel is when Muslims will rise up and foment war. -
Oh, well, the poster with whom I was interacting was lamenting that Hegseth was being confirmed, I recall when those on the right were lamenting what Obama was doing and his response was.....elections have consequences.....so we can thank him for showing us how to best deal with objections.
-
Uhmmm, you just made your question even less clear, I have no idea what you are asking
-
Oh, well, then you and I will have to agree to disagree on what is right and wrong.
-
I dont understand the question

I see this debacle in three distinct elements. 1) Quality of the policy/planning 2) Quality if the implementation of policy/planning 3) Quality of active reaction to evolving situation I get all the Democrats blah blah blah.....but, at the end of the day ONLY OUTCOMES matter. So any evaluation should focus only on the material. I am not surprised that Democrats would elevate virtue signaling over basic services, so i this event we might have a case study to show them how focking stu0pid they are.

Remember when Obama said elections have consequences when people complained? Yeah, lets go ahead and use that now.

Israel-Hamas cease-fire deal proves Trump’s a better prez out of office than Biden was in it

Peace is what matters, I leave it to the rest of you to care about who delivered it. Maybe it was Trumps threat, or maybe it was Biden's begging....I do not care.... -
As I stated, Newsome called them into play on the 8th. Now, a proper plan would have had them ready to be pulled into action from day 1, this is how contingency planning is established. You should reconsider this tilt toward defending these people, and instead insist on accountability.
-
You are not being honest. the governor stepped in to provide those trucks, they were not part of any contingency plan. He reacted to the problem, it was not part of the plan, they were not standing by as they should have been. Defending these people is not what we should be doing. They do not deserve to be defended.
-
No, a contingency plan would "backup" the reservoirs. When planning for redundancy for critical infrastructure, you do not go a single level, you go multiple levels. By way of example, a good leader would backup their reservoir solution with others, perhaps coordinating the emergency implementation of water trucks to be available. But all of this is conducted in table-top exercises where a variety of levels of criticality are explored. There is a doctrine that governs how to handle continuation of operations planning. It is rather clear that there was absolutely no redundancy even attempted here. So we have the initial failure of policy and planning, potentially augmented by the further failure of proper governance of implementation and rounded out with a failure for contingency planning. These are elected officials. They do not deserve our energy to defend them.
-
I submit that armed with that knowledge a reasonable leader would have contingency plans in place which offset the risk created by the drained reservoir. To me this is simple and standard leadership. I do not think this is an extravagant expectation. To me, no matter how you approach this event, the lack of quality leadership appears again, and again.

I do not concur that it is too early to tell. The expanse of damage tells us enough. California has spent the last 20 years drastically improving their posture toward wildfires, and notably the last 6 years really putting in the work after the Camp Fire issue in 2018. So then, either the policy was deeply flawed, or it was not followed. Either situation points to a lack of quality at the highest levels of leadership. But lets set that aside. Would you agree that there was knowledge of the drained reservoir among at least the local governmental leadership?
-
Might you agree that this situation has not unfolded in a satisfactory manner? Either the policy is flawed, or it was not followed and at the very least, leadership has not met the need?
-
Essentially, yeah. He clearly has "politician chops"

His prior stand on not allowing women into combat roles, which he then did a 180 on when his nomination arose.

Mostly, yes, regardless of party there is plenty of posturing for the cameras. BUT, Sen Warren did a good job....IMHO

Trump is ‘100% serious’ about acquiring Greenland, Panama Canal, say sources close to prez-elect

So....when he talks about helping every day Americans, he is lying, but now...oh boy....NOW.............. he is serious.
