  1. In a ten team basic performance league. My other QB is Romo/Bledsoe. My other WR's are Driver, Branch. Looking for an upgrade at QB and for a receiver down the stretch. I offered this to the Kitna /Brown owner. Assuming he'll bite with Fitz still out.

Yahoo wont let me put Buckhalter in!

Just called my commish. Dropped Moroney and picked up Bucky. This one is going to hurt over the long haul. Can't even use L-Mo for trade bait now... Had to with McNabb starting against me. I have a slim six point lead with Driver and now Bucky starting for me. I'm going to regret this, but WTF...... This all in a ten team performance league. Just means I'll bee even busier on the WW from here on out.

    Fantasy Defense Schedule

Picked up the Cleveland D this week. Pondering starting them over the Jags.
  4. In a ten team performance league, but no PPR. My #1 QB Bledsoe on the bye.. (we only get two QB's) I can start A. Smith, or pick up Leftwich off the wire, who was just dropped today for some reason. The other question is do I drop Bryant for the long haul and pick up Matt Jones? I have been starting Driver and Boldin. The strange thing in all this is the pitch and catch potential of either combo, either this week, or later in thier respective schedules.

    Vikings 34 Bears 3

Just curious if Grossman has ever played an important game in that building? Important why? Because if the Vikings win, they are both 2-1. Think the Vikings fans don't know that? Minnesota fans will make his life miserable. It's crazy how loud that place can be. Ask Favre (through his whole career) how fun it is to play there. Grossman doesn't have anywhere the skills or proven leadership. The Bears better run the ball, and hope they do it well. This coming from an NFC central fan . I was a bit disappointed by the first two week debacles against the Bears, and they really aren't that overwhelming on O. Better than last year with Grossman yes, but great, nope, not even better than Carolina. If the Bears can't generate a sack fest, then Johnson will get his. He's a veteran and patient superbowl winning QB, and Grossman is??? It will be interesting to see if the fans can keep the Vikings D inspired for 60 minutes. The Bears have a gift schedule bringing all the tough, out of division teams into thier house (except the Pats). Longwell wins this game..... again. He's done it before to both teams...

    Who'll have a better year

Looks like up and down schedules for both teams. It's always nice to have a running game, Gore is doing well, and the Jets not so good. The Niners run game may come back down to earth, but I don't see the Jets getting much with their schedule. The caveat/upside, maybe the Jets will just be forced to spray it all year. On the other hand D's will adjust to their lack of a running game. With their schedules in mind, I think there is more potential points in the NFC West for Bryant, than the AFC North with Coles.

After 2 weeks, what have we learned?

That owning a Tampa or Oakland offensive player might spell doom for your FF playoff hopes? Trade Caddy and Moss while there's hope? Gruden can't fix his schedule, and Moss can't fix Brooks... ?

    Trade Caddy for T.O?

I'd send Caddy...... for T.O and perhaps your opponents #3 or #4 RB. The Bucs schedule is brutal, and it appears there's no righting the offensive points scoring ship. Tiki and Rudi look to do fine. What's your WW look like for RB's? This is one of those deals, where going for WW handcuff or a #2 RBBC back pays off. It's a long season, but TB scares me to death with their schedule (after their first two weeks offense performance), nevermind Pittman I own Caddy and drafted him as my #2RB. I put him on the block today across my league for open return offers at QB or RB.

    Carnell Williams

On my until he outscores westbrook....

    Bears 34, Lions 3

Based on the proposed wins in the NFC central perhaps yes. If they were an NFC East team not likely. Kitna's a bit better at driving the offensive ship, and Grossman has some things to prove...yet. Detroit's D was surprising at home, hopefully they can carry that for four mental quarters on the road. After week one, game planning with some tape will help... Parhaps this week we'll really begin to see how good or bad both teams are.

Waiver Wire Darlings after week 1

Mine is as well and a ten team league. Just added Bryant to my short WW p/u list for the week. I'm #4 and dropping Matt Jones.

    Caddy, Sjax, and Westy

I'm pullin my friggin hair out second guessing myself. I'll defer to the throbbing brain of FFtoday... pick two please Caddy, Sjax, Westbrook.

    Caddy, Sjax, and Westy

doh I forgot to put that in the post, no ppr, but yes a performance league... That's why I'm struggling with benching Westy for Caddy or perhaps Sjax. Denver and Dallas aren't slouch defenses, but they are on the road, sooo.....
  15. 2bmayhem

Who would you start at your #2 RB?

Maroney... Dillion is ready to "share" the load and has publically said as much.

Who is "this year" "last year"?

Just curious what o-line SJax is running behind this year? Better than last year? An above average pass offense/personnel helps, but can Linehan bring discipline to flag happy line? Is everyone on the o-line healthy? I'm suffering in the #5 spot this year, sooo I'm looking at SJax round one. Preseason projections and all have the Rams with a less than stellar o-line and above "average" SOS rush opponents. That's all formed opinion/theory based on last year's results though. Half the games you mentioned against the niners and cardinals are on the road. Yes? Perhaps the cardinals can light it up on their home turf? Looking at offseason moves / injury recovery, they in theory are better defensively. The niners play better at home? no? Just phishing for informed opinions on the guys that will get Sjax from four yards deep to five or more down the field, over and over and over. FWIW...an accurate assessment of McGahee. I owned him last year, and he had to grind for every inch.
  17. 2bmayhem

I have Thomas Jones & Joesph Addai

Looking at stats from last year both teams give their RB's 20 touches a game. Chicago has the easier schedule, while Indy's passing offense is well.... you know... above average. Indy's o-line is ranked pretty high and their SOS rush opponents below average. Wouldn't you want Rhodes? He is the projected starter early in the season, isn't he? I'd think he'd be pretty motvated with the rook waiting on the sidelines. Perhaps the upside of an Indy handcuff is better than the Bears.

    Value Rankings

Mike, I find it interesting in our basic performance league that defenses place very high in "value" with DB. The bears are 10th overall, and Jacksonville at 18th. Our league is run on CBS, and we give Defensive performance points for sacks, fumble recoverys, int, etc. It is also setup with a descending points structure based on yards against, and points against. Basically we start the week with 20 points, and go down from there as scoring and yardage accumulates. Starting roster 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1Def We collectively giggled last year when a guy drafted the bears defense in the fifth round, but he did go on to win the championship (He's a Bear's homer). His roster included dealing with the TO implosion. We draft sixteen rounds and I can't fathom picking a defense up earlier than than the sixth round. What are your thoughts on defenses placed so high in vlaue overall? I was certainly going to move my defensive selections in front of TE's and perhaps #3 RB/WR this year, but in front of #2 RBs, WRs, and QBs?
  19. This link popped up on yahoo alerts saying he was offered a contract as well. http://www.belleville.com/mld/belleville/s...lleville_sports

    You draft in 10 minutes...

I disslike both, but tried Moss the last few years. Yikes, never again. Draft TO, better yet draft Matt Jones.
  21. I set up a yahoo news alert for "stephen davis rams" via email. If anything pops up in the next day, I'll post a link.

    Caddilac

Moose The question is how much... I cuffed Pittman once again this week off the WW and pondering one or the other as a tandem with McGahee or Westbrook. I get only two RB's.. McGahee, Westy, Caddy, and Pittman.

    Does Antonio Chatman blow up?

I'm pondering starting him over R. Moss

So, Andre Johnson hits your waivers.

Leave him right where he is.... just as long as he is not on your roster. I wasted a draft pick on him, much to my regret. The Texans are just bad this year.
