I realize this starts in two days. Had my daughter's wedding last week, some court proceedings, and my dad in the hospital to cope with alongside trying to get things done for work. To say I haven't had a lot of extra time for anything would be an understatement. That said, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, so... Golf's second major of the year with arguably its deepest field as well starts on Thursday. I have always enjoyed the PGA Championship as the actual tournament is often more compelling than both the US and British Opens, and it is the only major I have ever attended in person (on three different occasions). This year, the championship returns to Valhalla (Louisville) where Rory prevailed a decade ago. The following is my top ten predictions two days out, which means they're pretty much final. 1. Xander Schauffele- No one knocks on the door more often. Because Scheffler and Rory are distracted (baby, divorce), I think Xander may get it done this time. 2. Collin Morikawa- If ever a player was built to win @ PGA Championship courses/set-ups, it is Morikawa. I think he'll be in the thick of it right up until the very end. 3. Scottie Scheffler- Even a distracted Scottie is good enough for a top-3 finish. What a dominant year it has been for him so far. 4. Max Homa- I really think Max has figured this thing out with respect to majors. I think he could win the US Open later this summer, but for now, I think he'll shine @ Valhalla, too. 5. Rory McIlroy- I know he played great last week, but personal issues (divorce) have a funny way of impeding progress in a game played mostly between the ears. 6. Tommy Fleetwood- Tommy is a poor man's Schauffele. Consistent in majors...nearly always in the mix. With so many players not playing well right now, hard to overlook him here. 7. Tyrrell Hatton- Gotta put a LIV guy in the top ten and why not Hatton who can score like few others in the professional game. PGA is the scorer's major. 8. Ludvig Aberg- Always concerns me when a guy withdraws from the previous tournament, but Aberg's game is going to have him in my top ten lists for years to come. 9. Byeong Hun-An- A top-ten machine this season, An is a guy to watch on the weekend if he can get off to a good start. 10. Taylor Moore- Every major needs a dark horse. We'll go with Moore this time around.

I used to like Wendy's, but it seems they've gone way downhill since Dave Thomas died.

Well, for once, Ed can't make fun of my predictions too much. I don't think Valhalla will host another PGA anytime soon. No one wants to see -21 as the winning score at a major.
-
Is second place $125? If so, Ed, you can keep $50 for the Memorial fee and just send me the rest. Thanks!

Congrats Cloaca!

Irony: I win if I stick to my guns/predictions and take Moore over Harman. Still, second is cool.

As a therapist that works with adolescents, this is absolutely true. Adolescent girls are horrible to each other. They tear each other apart at every turn and social media has only made things ten times worse. I guess it doesn't change much as they get older.

I have been to three PGA Championships and arrived early in the AM on Friday for each. I like going on the second day as you know who the leaders are at that point in time. On a NORMAL day, it's chaotic around the entry gate. There's security everywhere and traffic is being routed all over the place. It's confusing. Add to that this morning that it was still dark and it was raining. This is a gross overreaction by officers on the scene. The whole incident is understandable and I can picture how confusing it would be for a player given that it's generally a chaotic entry to majors to begin with. Charge him with a traffic violation and let's get back to golf. Orange jump suit him? Good grief.

No doubt. Those chickens are far from hatched.

Good start for Xander...
-
I deserve that...

I think my strategy is working so far...

Who are you talking to and who are you angry at? I didn't say the former and neither did anyone else with half a brain and the latter was always true.
-
No worries. I was just asking. You do awesome for us.

The regardless part is correct. I don't know what sort of pro Clark will be exactly, but expecting any rookie to look smooth in competition two weeks after being drafted and assigned a team is just stupid.
-
Is there a spreadsheet created yet for this event?
-
If NFL players got drafted in late April and had to play in their first professional game in less than two weeks, they'd be a hot mess, too.
-
Also, money sent to Ed for this tournament.
-
Harris English is my alt.
-
Will be interesting to see how a best ball team of those not drafted would do. I would guess top-three.

I wonder if the report that Oosthuzien turned down an invitation for this week is true. How can you just turn down a shot at competing in a major?
-
Yeah, I''ve been fifth place in consecutive competitions. Just thought I'd try something different.
-
I really like Moore this week. I actually have him ranked ahead of Harman, but I think Harman has a higher floor, which is what I look for sometimes in the fifth and sixth rounds.
-
Is that who you were thinking?

Still a lot of prejudicial and pre-conceived stuff in these comments. And, you lost me at boyo. I'm 53 with a grandkid. Not going to get into a juvenile back and forth.
