    15 round live veteran-only draft

You guys obviously have not learned one thing in all the years of fantasy football. And that is...the best team on paper never wins the championship. In addition...our league does not have bonuses for big scoring plays, or reaching yardage (ie. 300 yrds for qb, 150 yards for rb/wr) markers. So i think consistent production vs big playmakers is gonna win the race. I also think this league will be one of my favorite leagues as well. Now we sit on our thumbs until rookie draft Da Schmucks. Young and dumb

Feel free to pick my team apart and wouldnt mind any feedback on team needs and direction. Ive included my thoughts and ideas toward my draft and team. Had 1.04th pick. Strengths: Stafford/Charles/Bowe/Gronkowksi nice solid foundation IMHO. Weakness: Young team. Unproven. Aside from Charles/Bowe. The rest of the squad has shown what they can do, but time will tell if it will be each season or not. Could have used a couple veterans to balance the team. Post rookie draft may lend to mending that problem. Too bad the Commish took up all the washed up talent!! Way to go Pinky! My team can live up to its potential and be dangerous...or flounder and i could be stuck in a quagmire for years. QB: Mathew Stafford- I think the offense that is around him, the arm he has...that 2011 is his year. Just needs to learn how to fall softer! Joe Flacco- Had 3 picks in the 7th, went with Stafford then Flacco in the same round. 3 years of QB play is covered. If Stafford gets hurt, im comfy with Flacco leading the Schmucks. Nothing spectacular...but steady. RB's: Jamaal Charles was a tough pick at 4 with Arian Foster and Adrian Peterson staring me in the face. Wasnt expecting those guys there for me. I think Jamaal takes off this year and doesnt look back. I think the timeshare with Thomas Jones has been good for him. Foster would have been my 2nd choice here (Dont think he's a 1 year wonder, but its not often that the previous yards leader repeats in the NFL), followed by Adrian (More carries in his tank then the other 2, QB situation a small concern). I may regret not going Foster or AP. But i went against the ADP and went with Charles Jon Stewart--- Let's see what DeAngelo does. If he's gone, then J Stew can flourish. Even if he stays, Jon Stewart is too big a talent not to have some fantasy impact. He's fully healthy going into training camp. Im happy with have him on the squad. Obviously, QB in Carolina a big concern here. James Starks: This was my spidey senses pick. Very similar finish to 2010 as foster had at the end of 2009. Finished the year strong, on a powerful offense. I think he ends up being rb1 in GB, even if Ryan Grant comes back. He is also elgible for taxi squad, if I choose to save a year of eligibily this year to make sure he does become the man in green bay. Mike Tolbert- HOMER pick. Im a Chargers fan. I think he's still a big part of the SD offense, but I also think Ryan Mathews has a better year this year and becomes RB1 in SD. Still....happy to have Tolbert on my squad. Reminds me of a younger Michael Turner when he was here in SD WR's Dwayne Bowe- One thing thats been consistent with Bowe since his first year has been targets. He's always gotten a ton of them. Im not sure he repeats last years numbers with Weiss gone. But i think he'll be consistent throughout the year. Contract year as well Pierre Garcon- Indy offense, Austin Collie's health will determine just how valuable Garcon is. But im happy with Pierre. Contract year as well Mario Manningham- Solidified his spot on the Giants offense last year. Steve Smith gimpy and not guaranteed to come back. Defenses focusing on Hakeem Nicks gives Super Mario room to run Malcolm Floyd- Hoping he re-signs with the Chargers. Was great when Vincent was being vincent. Wasnt healthy all year, and may end up in a sorry ass offense if leaves via free agency. Earl Bennet- I liked what he did last year, I think Martz did too. Hoping his targets/catches goes up this year Tight End: Gronkowski- I love this kid. Brady does too. WR's are pretty weak in New England. Short passing game benefits the Big Gronkowski. (Eligible for taxi squad but I think im riding this kid the next 3 years) Jared Cook- Solid end of the season. One of the new breeds of TE. (I plan on taxi squading Jared while Locker learns the position) Ben Watson- Picked Watson to get me 1-2 years. Decent fantasy play out of the TE position in 1.5 PPR. McCoys main man Defense- PITT....... take top 3 Defense or a 5th wr? Went with the D. Wont be searching waiver wire for match-up Defenses for the next 3 years. Ill take it Rookies and free agent draft to follow. Signed- The Schmucks!

The QB scoring format also contributed to the drop of QB picks imo. 1 pt per 20 yards, 4 pts per TD.

    15 round live veteran-only draft

My draft strategy? I take a couple swigs of whatever beer I have in my hand, i pick a guy I want, then change my mind...pick someone else, change my mind, go with the original guy I had chosen, change my mind. Take a couple more swigs. Get a nervous feeling in my tummy...mull it over a bit, and pick someone I had no intention of ever selecting, hit SUBMIT. Then wait for negative feedback. Signed, Surfin'Shmucks (Formerly the San Diego Surfin' Fools)

IM starting him no matter what. But who should i bench?????? Mike Williams (TB) Pierre Garcon Dwayne Bowe???
  14. Adrian Peterson owner was down by 1 pt. He's away from the computer and radio all day (driver for a delivery company), he gets home at 5:30 pacific time (10 mins before kick off), finds out AP is out. At this point, the ball has NOT been kicked off yet. Sounds like ball was actually kicked off at around 5:40. He calls commish, to IR Peterson and add Gerhart to play for the win. Commish gets the message, but does NOT allow the move...because game time is 5:30 according to NFL. AP owner loses, his opponent gets a cheap win Winning pot is $1400...so this is no small commish decision I personally think that as long as the ball wasnt kicked off, the move should have been allowed. But a tough damn call for the commish

Scandal in our leagues playoff game

Lesson learned is right. Tough damn call...either way, someone is gonna be bummed. The guy isnt complaining about it, he knows its his resonsibility, he tried to make it right as soon as he could, it was just about 1 minute too late!! Yeah, during the draft you need to decide whether to carry 3 RB's and 4 WR's, or 4 RB's and 3 WR's. Odd rule I know, but just a little spin on the league I suppose. Power running squad or air attack I suppose. Adds an odd dynamic. And guys, i work for the same company. We're not working for pizza hut!! Its one of the biggies, if you ordered something online, or sent something to mama...theres a 50 % chance we're the ones leaving it at the front door. We'll be able to afford the heating bill month to month Merry Christmas everyone...thanks for the input. The varied opinions on here are about the same as every one in our league... PEACE TO ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Fantasy Football is nuts

Scandal in our leagues playoff game

I couldn't find anything specifying moves before certain amount of minutes before kickoff But during playoffs, can only add players if one of ur players gets injured. Have to make move thru commish. We can only carry 3 rbs. I think most of the world thought ap was playing. Again, I think he contacted commish in time...he even posted on league bulletin board before the ball was kicked off that he contacted the commish to make the move Ultimately the responsibility is on the owner, but I think the key fact is that it was about 5-10 mins before the ball was kicked off the tee that he tried to contact commish. But, and this is what the commish is basing his decision on, is that at 5:30 pacific, the leagues in game match up showed game as being UNDERWAY. So there's that grey window between tv scheduled start time and actual kick off This is a live draft league where we all know eachother. Not an Internet league. Can't wait until next years draft to see the fireworks!!!
  17. I know the schedule says 8:30 eastern time, but what time does the ball actually get kicked off? 8:40???? Adrian Peterson owner put in a IR request for Adrian Peterson at 5:39, and commish didnt allow the move. Im guessing ball is kicked off at 8:40?? Thanksssss

    Philip Rivers

Every td pass to Vincent Jackson hurt like a kick to the nuts. And on top of that...Ive had Thur night, all day Friday and Saturday to twist the knife that is in my heart. Who else went against Rivers thur night and is in their Money Playoff game and have felt the wrath also known as GAWD DAMMMMM Fantasy Football?!??!

    Philip Rivers

To all of you Rivers owners.... F U!!
  23. Im in a bit of a pickle NON PPR Just went against Rivers, so I need to pick these right Im starting Brady Arian Foster MJD Now I need 2 more Jon Stew vs the Cardinals (Mike Goodson steals some of this thunder, but ARI has weak run d) Pierre Garcon (Has been on fire, but Austin Collie is back) Bowe (He helped to get me here, but Cassell coming back after surgery) What u think???? Thanks!
  24. fugoondo

    Bowe

Shut down 2 weeks ago by Bailey, and shut out last week because of QB play. Bowe owners...if Cassell plays, you starting him with confidence against a pretty stout Rams D?? Assuming you have similar options such as Garcons, Floyds, etc (Dont own these guys, but some mid level WR's that have performed well as of late and may be an option to Bowe) Its playoff time, which means $$$ time.
  25. fugoondo

    Jonathan Stewart

Sitting either Garcon or Bowe to play Jon Stewart. Although...its a damn tough decision. If Collie plays (Hurts Garcons value IMO), or Cassell is out (Hellll no on Bowe)...will make the decision easier.
