  1. Well kids, the election is over. Like it or hate it, we now have Barack Obama as President for the next term.

Many of you will be upset, many excited and happy. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you went away completely, though some will probably stay here.

But alas, I fear the FFT Geek Club discussion board is nothing more than a twisted hunk of metal, a carcass in the desert, a dead fish on the bottom of the sea.

It was horrible and painful to watch many of you take this place to where it is now. Quite embarrassing actually.

This used to be THE place to be. If you wanted a laugh, you came to FFT. If you wanted an early post with a link on something in the news(mostly non-political) this was the place to be. Good pron links. People ribbing each other lightly, with jest and genuine good natured-ness(Guess the Geek). Geeks would figure out ways to meet and have a beer. None of that exists anymore. Not here.

Now, sadly, FFT has become loaded with name calling, vicious, incredible one sided dialogue. I am just as guilty, watching this bored suffocate and die like it did was hard to take, knowing what it once was, made me occasionally post an attempt to stop the madness.

It's no one's fault really. Cant blame FFT Mike, this place was and always has been a free exchange of ideas, he never tried to squelch that. Sure he could have created a poilitical discussion forum, but we all know the extremeness of this place would have broken that wall down, without constant monitoring from Mike, it would have ended up the same

It's a shame, a genuine shame. This place was so great, so fun, so informative. Now, it is a political message board filled with extremests that quickly call you a d!ckhead because your views don't agree with theirs.

Sucks you all ruined this board, sucks a lot. I wonder if it will ever be what it was, doubt it..and that's too bad. :shocking:

Damb it, just when I was gonna make my comeback. Oh well, see y'all in a year or two.

  2. I agree - but everyone has to eat there once. No different than hitting Gino's East in Chicago, Legal Seafood in Boston, or Tavern on the Green in New York. Some places you have to go to simply to "check the box". Besides, everyone you know will ask if you ate there.

True 'nuff. Most of my trips to one, or both, of these places has been late night after many beers, I've always thought they were good. Would have one, then walk across the street for one at the other. It is an experience.

  3. Thanks davebg. I was hoping to stay away from using utilities. I see in this link that it looks like I can just point the default location to the new drive.

I think I can just copy all the songs over, then point to the new location? I think I'll test that out, and if it works, then I'll delete the songs off the C: drive.

But I would appreciate more comments if there is an even easier/better way and if anyone has had issues.

  4. 4wd helps propel you quicker on the ice and snow.....

If ice is under all 4 wheels, it ain't gonna help propel you much either. But in the right circumstances, it is the shiznit.

  5. [Dr. Nick Riviera] HI EVERYBODY!! [/Dr. Nick Riviera]

Because of all the songs I have added to my computer's hard drive I have gotten an external hard drive.

I would like to put all of the song files onto this new external hard drive and take them off the local C drive.

All of these songs have a file location associated with them. For instance, if you click on Get Info each song in the iLibrary tells me where it is located, for instance: C:\My Documents\My Music\iTunes Library\Library\Metallica\One or something to that effect.

My question is, if I move all of these files onto the new external drive, how do I tell iTunes all those files are no longer on the C: drive, but on the new drive?

    Any help would be appreciated.
