I wouldn’t worry about it. Trump says lots of things, most of them stupid. Nobody believes any of it, not even him.

I’m not bothered at all by asylum seekers - that is legal immigration. I’m against migrants illegally crossing the border and US businesses hiring them to cut labor costs.

Quick summary: MSNBC says if the economy and inflation is your big issue you should know that Trump is proposing steep tariffs on foreign goods, which will increase prices. In reality nobody on earth believes a thing Trump says so don’t worry about it. He breaks his bad promises too.

Trump also said he was going to put tariffs on US companies that offshore jobs, replace the ACA with something wonderful, eliminate the federal debt, make Mexico buy us a border wall etc. He says a lot of things.

My wife keeps telling me what they got wrong or had to condense / remove from the books. Having not read them, all I can go on is the show. I hated the VR stuff and some of the choices of actors Is a little dubious but overall it was fine. I’d watch another season.

I’m going to watch the last episode tonight. I sort of disliked it early on - the virtual reality bits were pretty cheesy. But it’s won me over. I’ve seen shows and movies about an imminent alien invasion before but never a show where 1) the aliens aren’t expected to be arrive for 400 years and 2) they’re more advanced than us now but progressing technologically at a slower pace than humanity. It’s an interesting angle. It’s also sort of unclear whether they’re truly malevolent or even what they’re like. My wife read the series and said they compressed the first book a lot to fit it into a season. It’s a trilogy so I guess we can expect 2 more seasons. I’d give it a 3.5 / 5. Definitely not must watch TV but pretty good.
