The consumer no longer needs to pay for the insurer’s marketing, profit margin, administrative costs etc. Hospitals no longer pass the costs of uninsured ER visits on to the consumer. Medical providers no longer need a fleet of billing specialists to deal with dozens of insurers and all their inconsistent requirements. The government negotiated on prices on behalf of the consumer. And people are no longer stuck in jobs for the sake of maintaining HC. I bet a lot more people would open small businesses if their HC wasn’t tied to their employer. If there’s another way to lower prices I’m all for it.

Uninsured people and the administrative costs of private / for profit insurance is driving up HC costs. The only long-term option is single payer HC.

HC costs were going up year over year before and after Obummercare. It’s not Obama or Trump’s fault, our HC system is just broken.
