    Where's Fasano?

I think Arizona figured out it was Pennington at the helm, so they didn't bother covering any WRs more than 10 yards downfield. Not good news for the TE.

    Aaron Rodgers...

I like him, but mostly Detroit just focking sucks.
  3. "edjr is such a genius. Where does the line form for worshipping him?"

    sit Steven Jackson this weekend?

Sit him? After one week of football, Michael Turner has become the best RB that history has ever known and Steven Jackson is now waiver wire material. I remember I thought I'd sit Deuce McAllister against a tough Tampa D some years back - so he went off for like 180/2TDs. That the last time I ever benched a stud.

Vince Young wants to Quit Football?

Maybe Tennessee should consider getting him someone to throw the ball to. They've given him absolutely nothing to work with.

    For those who don't auction

After our second year we voted on an auction proposal and it failed. We tried again the following year and it passed, barely. The year after there was not one owner who would have been willing to go back to a draft. Since then (we're in year 15) nearly every owner has quit any other draft leagues he was in. No contest, auctions multiply the fun. Every year the guy at work wants to do a mock draft. I keep telling him "Who cares? It's a draft. Pick the next guy on your cheatsheet. Better yet, don't even go and send in your cheatsheet." Drafts are so boring and lifeless.
  8. look really freaking good? Would he carry the load (at 180lbs) if LT2 went down? Ordinarily I circle <200lb RBs on my sheet as a reminder not to draft them, but Barry Sanders is always in the back of my mind.

    Justice served

This "telling the ref to call timeout just before the snap" is a bunch of BS. There's no reason not to make every kicker kick two 50yd FGs in a row at the end of the game from now on.

    Biggest FF Bust thus far

You got him 7th overall? Who did your grandma take with her 4th?

Why is everyone bashing Reggie Bush?

I'm not bashing him. With any luck, he can turn into a great 3rd down back in the NFL ala Kevin Faulk. Traded him last year for MBulger and I've slept easy ever since.
  12. Preseason doesn't mean crap. Preseason is the reason I took Michael Bennett over Ladanian Tomlinson with the #1 rookie pick. I now place NO stock in preseason games.

Testing a new strategy this year

I'm in an auction league so this doesn't apply to me, but I did a mock draft with a couple guys at work. When we do mocks, I ALWAYS go RB/RB in rounds 1-2. When we reached the 5th round, I saw something I'd not seen before. There were no standout receivers and a handful of capable RB2s still on the board. Made me think for the first time about the RB/RB philosophy. Personally, I think you're exactly right. If I were in a draft this year, I'd go RB/WR/WR/RB. I've been telling the guy at work this should be his strategy for the last week and I think he's coming around now.

I won BIG this year !

I don't think anyone who owns a timeshare has room to call anyone else stupid.

Cancel out theory... in the Championship.

Yes, you could argue it - and then anyone with an IQ higher than 12 would reject it. Note that every proponent of the hedging theory has mentioned that a bit of subjective reasoning is required. You obviously have little brain power to spare. Are you next going to contest that every proponent would sit LT2 because he's matched up against the opponent's Indy D? You can't be that stupid. In the situation that Anaheim laid out, you're telling me that you would even consider starting Garcia? Do you understand that starting Romo would gaurantee you a win? Is that still escaping you? Good thinking. You obviously have a firm grasp on the FACTS presented here.

Cancel out theory... in the Championship.

I did mention it, it's 1b. He doesn't CARE if Romo is a dog as long as Owens is too - that's why he's hedging. In that case, he still wins. It's the WHOLE POINT. He feels the rest of his team is better than the other guy's team - except for the wildcard, Owens. Here's another concept I know you'll have trouble with. He'll start Romo and HOPE he does nothing. This really isn't all that difficult a concept to understand. Are you guys just joking around? Obviously you didn't read through the scientific, proven methods of hedging as explained above. It's only been happening since the birth of market economies.

Cancel out theory... in the Championship.

It's not all that rare. Here's another scenario that will BLOW the non-believer's minds. Same situation, but Anaheim feels that the opponent's team is BETTER than his. In this case, he DOESN'T want to start Romo and should go with Garcia - even if he feels Romo's the better option. Wrap your mind around that one, if you will. Same with starting players against your opponent's defense. Do it if you're the underdog, avoid it if you're the favorite. Of course a bit of subjective common sense applies to all of these decisions. It's not a "magic bullet".

Cancel out theory... in the Championship.

You said it. The object is to outscore your opponent - not score as many points as possible. So let's look at the two scenarios: 1. He has a better team so he's willing to hedge his bet with Romo to cancel out Owens when the best QB is Garcia. a. Owens has a monster game. Romo also has a monster game because of it. The rest of his team outscores his opponent because they're better. He wins. b. Owens is a dog. Romo is a dog because of it. The rest of his team outscores his opponent because they're better. He wins. 2. He decides to go with his best option and start Garcia because he thinks he'll outscore Romo. a. Owens is a dog. Garcia isn't influenced by Owens. Most likely he wins with his better team. b. Owens has a monster game and Garcia is a dog. Even with his better team, he may lose because of it. I think Romo is the better option anyway, but this is a perfect example of why the "cancel out" theory works.

Anything to suck one more cent out of your pocket. In 5 years or so, expect to pay to watch any out-of-market NFL game. In ten years, expect all games to be pay-per-view.

    Urlacher vs Brady

There had already been 2 ghost "unnecessary roughness" calls on the Bears, he was probably thinking he didn't want a third for looking at golden-boy Brady the wrong way.
  23. I'm sure he has been one since 2001 or so - like 99% of Pats fans.

Tom Brady fakes HURLacher out of his jock

I think he was worried that if he looked cross-eyed at Brady, the refs would ring up another BS personal foul. I hope it happens again, but this time Urlacher ends Brady's career.

Commish is about to destroy one of my leagues.

It's not your option to throw games though. Looking at your lineup, you didn't throw that game, however.
