    A. Smith over Brady?

True about Smith's stats last week, but Brady threw for about 180yds during garbage time while he was trying to come back from 3 scores down. He looks lost out there so far without anybody he trusts to throw to. I'm not thrilled about even entertaining the idea of starting Smith....and I'm definitely not convinced that KC's D can hold (how many times do we have to drink that kool-aid before we realize it tastes like poo). If only I could trade between the different leagues I'm in, I'd trade myself Brady for McNabb.

    A. Smith over Brady?

Am I nuts? Have I lost it? Is this what it's come to? In my league (and I'm sure in many others) Alex Smith has outscored Brady through 3 weeks of play. Not by much, but enough for me to think to actually bench Brady vs Cinci this weekend while SF travels to KC. With Huard running the show, SF could find themselves on the field often on offense, except with Gore a lil' iffy, Smith might get to take KC out behind the woodshed. Brady will have no such luck against Cinci on the road, and he'll most likely be without Chad Jackson yet again. So ... just for this one week .... do I dare dream about benching Brady for Smith?

    R. Moss vs. Boldin

moss > boldin as much as the raiders like to run, they always throw that much more. with slingshot brooks there, no reason why a healthy moss can't attain better numbers than boldin (if not top 5 #s). arizona has got a nice arsenal of weapons on offense regardless of who's throwing to them, but the edge affect will be felt big time, mostly by boldin who's the teams possession receiver. fitz will still get his downfield catches and redzone tds, but some of the attempts that boldin would see will now turn into attempts for edge, whether they're swing plays out of the backfield or pure running plays on 3rd and short.

QB touchdowns (6 pt vs. 4 pt)

By making TDs for QBs 4 pts instead of 6, you increase the parity of QBs, thereby decreasing the overall parity of the league (it removes the ability for a team that happens to be weaker @ another position make up for it by having a stud QB). In a VBS (value-based system), the top 12 QBs decrease their difference from 368 to 276 (diff of 92) in a 6pt TD league down to 304 to 238 (diff of 66) in a 4pt TD league, for an overall decrease in value of QBs by about 33%. Having QBs at 6pts per TD affords the team that doesn't stack up on 3 RBs in the first round (or isn't lucky enough to draft 1-3rd in their league) to draft a top-tier QB and make up some of that point differential ground. btw, i used 2005 fftoday stats when calculating the top 12 QB fantasy scores.
