Manning out? Who else you got?

Stafford as well. Also, and maybe it's just me, but has anyone noticed that it seems like every Peyton Manning owner also drafted Stafford?

    Bernard Scott

Bernard Scott reminds me of Darren Sproles when he was "stuck" behind LT. Like Sproles, Scott is suited for what he does - 3rd and long situations and returning kickoffs. Both plays rarely give positive results. But when they do, they make the highlight reel and everyone clamors over how the guy would be a superstar if it weren't for that darn starting RB holding him back.

    Dallas Clark

It's not like this offense is completely inept without Manning. Manning is a phenominal player, but he's not a puppet master. Clark and Wayne would be studs on any team. Garcon and Collie would be good on any team. By the talk going on, you'd think these guys were completely undraftable if it weren't for Peyton Manning.

    Help picking TV

I'm not trying to rip on your buying style or anything, I was just making a general comment as to the particular details that we now pour over as TV buyers compared to years past.

    Help picking TV

It's funny how people shop for TV's now. Back in the late 90s, the big selling points were "you can still kind of see the picture from a 30 degree angle" and "this 50" Hitachi Ultravision has an automatic focusing system." We'd stand there on the showroom and compare pixels from one TV to the next. What people didn't realize is that once you got the TV in the house, there was nothing left to compare it to, so it always looked great. Now, it's a nitpick over the ratio of Hz vs. the size vs. resolution and whether or not you'll be playing games or watching movies. It kind of reminds me of the "audiophiles" that claim they can differentiate a few Hz from one speaker to the next.

I pissed some guys off at my draft last night

Until you put the sticker on the board, or make your pick online, you haven't drafted the guy. So, if someone gets up and announces that he's drafting Gates......until he actually puts the sticker on the board, I'll say whatever I want to deter him if he's the player I want. It's no different than starting a rumor that some player is about to get cut or has some nagging injury.

    Benson's out of jail already

Note to Cedrick Benson: Nothing good ever happens after 12am, or anything in Austin TX. At least he was smart enough to report to jail at 11pm and still get a full day's worth of jail time.

Have you ever held a human turd in your hand?

It was an emergency. The toilet was about to overflow. It was that or "look out below" where the party was going on.

Have you ever held a human turd in your hand?

That's hard core. Other than diaper changes, the only other time I've handled a turd was when my 2 year old son plugged up the toilet at a friend's house. No plunger available. To prevent a sh!tstorm, I had to free up the clog with my bare hand.

The art of making a trade

You're always going to have paranoid owners that believe any trade offer is a direct attack on their team's well-being. It doesn't matter what you offer - it's never good enough. They always assume there is an ulterior motive.

Carson Palmer might report next week

Except for the fact that he's been extremely late for work every day for the last month. Just like a big baby, he got frustrated, took his ball and went home. Unless he goes public to explain himself, he's just a flat-out crybaby quitter. I have zero sympathy for pro athlete's that choose to hold out either for a trade or a new contract. They are paid to play a game. As I said earlier, even Chad Johnson understood that. Johnson was villified, but he still showed up for work everyday. I don't recall Dillon missing any games either.

Carson Palmer might report next week

    We shall see, I guess.

Carson Palmer might report next week

I think it's different this time. That was the case with Chad Johnson, but this is a little different. At least Johnson showed up to play even after all the demands - therefore he was forgiven. He never missed a day. Palmer, on the other hand....maybe his agent just sucks. He demands a trade, threatens retirement while "sources close to him" tote about his wealth, and then he sells his Cincinnati house, and he's nowhere to be found.

Carson Palmer might report next week

Again, I don't think you understand the situation in Bengaldom. Everyone hates the owner Mike Brown. He's dumb for all kinds of reasons. Even though everyone owns a Carson Palmer jersey - he's still seen as a quitter (which is a huge "no-no" in Cinci.) Although Andy Dalton is not that great right now, he's being embraced by the Bengals' faithful. There is no doubt in my mind that Palmer is no longer welcome in this city, and if he would appear on the field as a Bengal, not only would he be booed of the field, he would prolly need security escorts for the rest of the day.

Carson Palmer might report next week

I don't think you understand how the Bengals work. So, the short answer is "Yes". They will pay him to sit on the bench.

Carson Palmer might report next week

Palmer can go blow goats for all I care. As dysfunfional as they are, it appears the Bengals have moved on. So fock him. The Bengals have plenty of money to pay him even if he does show up.

    Foster...uhoh

If I had Foster, I would honestly laugh at you if you offered me Tate. For anything. Is it the O-line in Houston that makes Foster so good? I doubt it. It's Foster, plain and simple. He's not replaceable at this point. To think that his backup/handcuff would just jump in and perform nearly as well, or even as good as Lynch, in your case, is laughable.
  18. pimptastic69

    Foster...uhoh

Why? Unless you're in a dynasty league or something, I just don't understand the reasoning of rostering a player that doesn't play. It makes no sense to me. Good players are good. Backups are backups for a reason. Chris Johnson is MIA but I don't see anyone scrambling for his backup right now.
  19. pimptastic69

    Foster...uhoh

Or...you could draft players that actually contribute from day one.
  20. pimptastic69

    Foster...uhoh

I'm not a big fan of the handcuff. But tell me (assuming Foster is out for a few weeks or months), since you've handcuffed Foster with Slaton and/or Tate, are you now expecting the same results?

    Keepers & Compiler

The Compiler was invaluable in redrafts, but since my league has "gone keeper", not so much. Unless I'm missing something, how can I use the Compiler to aid me in my drafts, when 1/4 of the players are already spoken for? I guess what I'm saying is, other than crossing them out manually, "How can I remove kept players from the compiler list, and then re-sort it?" Does that make sense?
  22. pimptastic69

    Keepers & Compiler

To be honest, I haven't purchased the Compiler this year. I have for the last 4 or 5 years, but for the reasons stated above, I've declined this year. Looking back on my 2010 version, I don't see a "Rules" tab. Is this something new this year, or has it been there all along? I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot, and I realize this program has a lot of things going on...but in the past I've simply purchased the program for the value it provides in a redraft league. I've never clicked on those other tabs.
  23. pimptastic69

    Keepers & Compiler

But will it take into account that certain (kept) players are not available, and then give me a list of best available players?

Our leagues converting to a Keeper league

It takes a little bit of effort, but it's not that hard. I go the Draft History for the previous year and cut and paste it into a spread sheet. That part's easy. Then I have to manually search the rosters for players that were drafted but later cut, and for any FA signees. That part is a pain in the arse. But once it's done, it's a piece of cake to select keepers and their draft round. You can sort it anyway you want (player, owner, draft round, keeper round - whatever.) I should note that my league allows as many keepers as you want with a draft round 2 slots earlier than the previous year.
  25. The Reds are paying Ken Griffey almost 3.8 million a year until 2024.
