    Little Nugget about the Colts

Right, because Patriots players can stare directly into the sun and not be blinded. I forgot they were all superhuman.

    Derek Anderson and Jamarcus Russell

The funny thing about Russell is that he thinks he's doing fine. There's been a few interviews now where he's said that he doesn't think he's the problem, and yesterday he said he had a good game. Doesn't sound to me like a guy that's going to put in extra time to improve. The guy is really clueless. Anderson is terrible, but I'd still take him any day over Russell who's just mailing it in.

    Jamaal Charles

I'm picking him up in a PPR league. I can't see LJ not getting suspended after his recent tirade. I don't think Charles is any great talent, but they want to operate out of the shotgun in KC and that plays more to Charles' strengths than LJ's. He might develop into a decent flex player, but I'm not expecting more than that.

Can we close the book on Jason Campbell yet?

Campbell sucks, but there's no need to compare him to Russell. Campbell has at least had moments where he looked like an NFL QB. Russell has yet to have any of those moments. I feel sorry for Zorn. He didn't pick this junk, but he takes the blame when they don't perform. I don't think Bill Walsh could come back and make a contender out of that bunch. Any FA QB's coming up next year that Snyder can overpay for?

    Fred Davis

He's worth a try, but I wouldn't expect him to be an every-week TE. Like you said, the offence there sucks. Cooley was able to put up decent numbers, but he wasn't spectacular. Considering how poorly I hear Davis is at blocking, it doesn't sound like he'll be an every-down TE like Cooley was.

    Vernon F****** Davis

I started Heath Miller over him, who was supposed to be going against a banged up secondary that gives up the most points to TE's. That worked out great. Now I'm going to lose to an opponent that started 2 guys on bye weeks. PS Thanks to Hines Ward for the big zero.

    Anyone starting Deangelo AND Stewart?

Stewart's my flex with Rice on a bye and Cotchery banged up. Turner and Dwill are my starters (dynasty league, got them before they went off last year).

You are back on the team Lance

Came into the season with Steve Smith (CAR), Hines Ward, and Lance Moore as my starting WR's, with Avery on the bench. Things looked pretty good, until they started playing games for real. Fortunately Garcon has helped me out, but it would nice to be able to put Moore back in there. He looked awfully good, but you just never know who's going to get the ball there. Henderson doesn't look like much, but Meachem is starting to get some looks too. Moore's going to be awfully hit or miss going forward, but the potential is there for decent numbers (probably better than Smith).
  9. Tate's coming of reconstructive knee surgery and would have to really impress to even be the #3 WR this season. I wouldn't rush to the waiver wire to pick him up.

    The OFFICIAL "F U ______________"

FU Steve Smith (CAR). 0 points against one of the worst pass D's in the NFL? In a game that went down to the end? Are you kidding me? I don't care if he's double-covered, he should still put up at least 50 yards a week. I should still win, but it would have been in the bag if he had done anything this week.

Well, I have to drop somebody...

As a PT owner, I think you drop Finley. He's not going to be consistent with Lee still around. If PT is out (and he's always banged up), Bell could be a 100 yard/1 TD RB while he starts.

    Saints Backfield

Have you even see him play?

    Steve Slaton...

I guess Houston is trying to emulate the success that Tennessee had last year using White in short-yardage, but Brown is not close to the short-yardage back that White is. And when D's see Brown in, they know its likely a run and can prepare for it. With Slaton in there, there's always the chance for a pass to the back or a screen that Ds would have to prepare for. At some point they need to give up on the Brown experiment. It's probably a good time to trade for Slaton - his value can't get any lower, and he showed he has the talent to be a RB1. Its not like LT who's over the hill. Slaton's got plenty of upside.

Miles Austin had a huge (lucky?) day...

I think Austin will get picked up more, but when Williams returns I don't see Austin putting up big numbers. That's a run-first team with a decent defence. I just think that with Williams, Witten, and Crayton, there won't be allot of passes to go around. He may have some value, but there's a reason he wasn't starting and was overtaken by Sam Hurd at one point. He's explosive, but he doesn't have the greatest hands or route-running. Collie I like, but with Gonzalez maybe coming back I don't see him having allot of value. He plays the slot in a great offence, so he'll have plenty of poor weeks when Clark/Wayne/Gonzalez/Garcon are getting the looks. I like Maclin the best out of the 3. Curtis' knee has been a problem for a long time and isn't getting better. Jackson is the #1, but that's a pass-first team that can score a ton. I see Maclin as a WR3 going forward. I doubt Curtis gets his starting job back if he ever does get healthy.

Guys Still on your roster who should not be..

Lance Moore. Expected him to be a strong WR3 for me this year behind S. Smith (CAR) and Ward. I know he's been hurt, but he's done nothing when playing. I've been using Garcon, but with Gonzalez coming back after the bye WR3 is going to be a rotation of Avery/Bennett/other junk.

    WW receivers Collie and Wallace

They're both #3 WRs on their teams. They'll have some big weeks, but will be pretty inconsistent because they're not on the field that much. Wallace may have the upside in getting a start if someone gets hurt. Looks like Garcon would be the replacement in Indy if either of the starting WRs get hurt. At best, they're both bye-week fillers.

    Denver HC Josh McDaniels

I'm no fan of the Cowboys, but you can't lump them in with Oakland and Cleveland as bottom feeders. The Cincy and Dallas wins were both quality wins, and they also beat 2 teams they should have beaten. So far they've got 2 more wins than I would have expected given how the offseason went for them. Got to give the coach some credit for that.

    Week 5 W.W. Pickups

I don't have a link, but I read the same thing. They actually discussed it with Carney who said he'll be looking for a new team. Hartley's worth a pickup.

    Need help picking a flex

I've got a ton of guys on bye this week. I'm forced to use McGahee and Rice as my starting RB's, with Colston, Cotchery and Garcon at WR. Need help with a flex (1/2 PPR). My options are: Fred Taylor vs. Ravens (yuck) Antonio Bryant vs. Redskins (um, yeah) Mark Bradley vs. Giants (maybe, if Bowe is out) Josh Morgan vs. Rams (Hill can't throw past 10 feet) Right now I've got Bryant in there, but with Josh Johnson at QB I'm not sure that's a great move. But none of the other options look that appealing.

    Packers Vs. Vikings Predictions

I was playing this matchup on Madden, and GB is up 42-7 at half time. Grant has 4 rushing TD's. So, that's pretty much how its going to go.

    Trade Calvin Johnson?

Ouch. I agree on Calvin for Flacco and Mason. While giving up Calvin is tough, not having a 2nd QB will hurt you even more. And Flacco's been airing it out this year (actually he started to in the 2nd half of last season). Mason's a decent replacement, although I expect Calvin to get back into the top 10 WR by the end of the year. Mine. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=352414

    So conflicted...

Agree on LT/Rice/Bush. Who knows what the split will be like in Buffalo (if I had to pick, I'd stick with Jackson this week over Lynch). At WR, Housh is a lost cause. Indy's pass D is good, and Wallace can't get the ball to Housh. You have to go with Chad and Cotch. Mine. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=352414

    Jonathan Stewart - Droppable?

He's never going to be the lead back barring injury, so you have to hope Carolina gets back to their dominant ways of last year of running the ball all game. With the way their D has been playing, I'm not sure that will happen much this year. But from the games I've seen, DWill looks like the better back (one of the best in the league IMO), so Stewart's upside is limited.

    Week 4 Sleeper player

Deep sleeper - Mark Bradley. If Bowe is out again, he's the #1. 4 catches and a TD last week, and they'll be down about 40 points by half time. Although with Cassell only throwing for 90 yards last week, not sure how much we can expect.
