  1. The Rams will trade the #2 pick to Washington and they will take him at the 6 spot if he is available. He will NOT get past them if on the board.

Pending what tb does at the 5 of course... If they can land finnegan, maybe they opt to pass on claiborne

  2. So we're thinking about starting a 32 team dynasty league after participating in many 16 team leagues (red dog, double coverage, hot route). But wondering if this even something that would have legs as a dynasty. We want all seperate players ie no team Qb, team kicker etc and it would be idp. We would have an initial auction draft as we don't think a serpentine draft would be fair in a league this size. Also the challenge of finding 32 dedicated owners, although we have nearly half that interested thus far. Basically wondering if anyone has done one and did teams who didn't have a startable Qb lose interest quickly as that's one of my main concerns. We are kicking around a 24 team league instead as atleast that way there will be a couple extra qbs floating around. We fear that if you don't have a Qb in the 32 team league it would be impossible to trade for one. Thoughts?

I'd suggest going Team QB. That could help each team at least have a qb every week. And you would almost have to use a metric such as weekly average for teams who have QBs on bye weeks to get a QB score for the week.

I'd also suggest maybe making QBs TDs worth 4 and 1 pt. per 25 passing yards. This may weaken the position, but it would be the same for everyone and negate some of the huge disparity between the top and bottom of the position...

  3. They're not cutting Grant, and Silverstein is one of the best NFL reporters in the league, so he's not clueless.

What happened is that Silverstein rolled with a story that he was fed from his Packers insiders - a story that was launched intentionally to spur Grant. Grant has been running East and West a whole lot this camp, and when compared to Starks - who has looked clearly more explosive and runs far more North/South - the Packers coaches want to be sure that Grant still has his burst, and not sluffing off because it's the pre-season.

This was mind games, aimed squarely at Grant. If he doesn't have the burst, they want to give Starks more first-team reps. If he does, they want to see it to calm their nervous stomachs.

    That's it.

Interesting theory. And it may well be true that they offered him the pay cut or roster cut ultimatum. But not mind games. Im sure they told him exactly how they felt and were real with it. On the flip side. He and Grant are likely to share the backfield, and neither one should be drafted before round 5 until you have a clear cut winner or injury to one of them.

  4. The speech could be funny if you have funny people in your league. Most people I know arent funny enough to listen to for 5 minutes, let alone 10. But if they said things like, "I knew who you were targetting because one night I found your cheat sheet in your nightstand... after banging your wife". Thats funny imo

As for calling it gay? Well, I know gay guys that could kick your ass in or outside of a fantasy league (they might do other things to it afterwards, but they would kick it.)

  5. How do you all feel about AJ Green suffering from Dalton? I know preseason week 1 is not the most important thing, but it did highlight Dalton's weak arm. If this is a long term concern, couldnt it be argued that Julio Jones and Mark Ingram are much safer and just as likely to be elite picks???

I hem and haw daily about the top 2 picks. I love all three, but think that Jones and Ingram are the safer picks. I can see Green languishing for years on that ###### hole organization, in a tough conference, and just being held back. Jones and Ingram should do everything they can and perform very well in their offenses, which are built for both short AND long term success.

  6. I don't get it. We're supposed to use any of this information to predict when Lex Hilliard goes that high? I've seen much better rookie draft speculation elsewhere...

Holy crapola. I didn't see that. Well, he got A.J. 'cause of the Hilliard pick, but other than that, he weaved and bobbed into some Kung Fu awesomeness.

    :ninja: :ninja: :ninja:

  7. After wheeling and dealing, here's what I ended up with...

    Brees, Freeman,

Rice, Charles, Mathews, Greene, Starks, Ben Tate, Snelling

AJohnson, LFitz, Jacoby Ford, A. Benn, Golden Tate, Demaryius Thomas, Brandon Tate, Taylor Price, Andre Caldwell

    Winslow

    Buehler

    NYG

    1.1,1.2,3.2

I gave up 1.6,1.8,1.12 and Choice for 1.2 and his first pick next year.

I gave up 2.2,2.3, VJax, and LBlount for 1.1. (I think I lost this trade, but Blount was never gonna crack my lineup anyways I figure)

So, who do I go with with the 1.1 and 1.2??? Obviously a wr will be one of them. And my only 3 choices now are Julio Jones, AJ Green, and Mark Ingram. What do you think does the most for me this year and long term?

  8. 2002:

McNair and Bulger (played each during their hot streaks too)

Holmes (2000 all purpose yards, 27 tds)

    J Lewis (2066 yds, 14 tds)

    R Moss (1600, 17 tds)

    A Toomer (1000, 5)

    T Gonzales (916, 10)

We only played 2 wrs back then. My team point total was ridiculous, I won the 1st 3 wks of the season, and a total of like 11 weeks ($90 per week), and pretty much inspired my league to change from total points season long to a schedule, win-loss, playoff format.

    My current dynasty team:

    Brees, Freeman

Rice, Charles, Mathews, Greene, Starks, Ben Tate, Snelling

AJohnson, LFitz, Jacoby Ford, A. Benn, Golden Tate, Demaryius Thomas, Brandon Tate, Taylor Price, Andre Caldwell

    Winslow

    Buehler

    NYG

    1.1,1.2,3.2

Ive traded Blount, VJax, Choice, 1.6,1.8, 1.12, 2.2,2.3 for the 1.1 and 1.2 this offseason.

Where would you go with those two picks if you had my team??? (obviously wr with one, but then who? Ingram? Green? Jones? Who do I let pass me???)

  9. Every single person I know who does fantasy has lamented the lockout situation and it's bullshit division of spoils millionaire squabbling. And just about every player I know has cut back on their leagues. I know I'm only doing 3 this year. And thats gonna be my limit from here on out. My brother who does like 7, has decided to do 2! Way I see it, FF really can't get much more popular...

  10. Blount saw his value rise after the nfl draft. He has no real competition for carries and should be a workhorse back this upcoming year.

Im very happy to see how the draft turned out for him. Bradford is a backup. And they didnt draft a speed back like I thought they would. I was hoping they'd tag Rodgers in the 4th or 5th. Looks like ATL made a nice move there.

  11. Off: Ryan Williams NE Patriots- They can afford to grab him in the second after spending their first two picks on D. He would be a nice back in that offense, and probably get around 900 and 7. Just guessing...

Def: Von Miller. Arizona Cardinals. His ability to do many things will show up on the stat sheet and in their defensive resurgence. But too bad he's not a quarterback too!

  12. What do ya'll think TB will do in the draft rb wise? Any chance they go after Leshoure or Williams in the 2nd rd?

How do you guys rank the rookies? Anybody got a top 15 list out there?

I'm curious because I've got a trade offer of Legarette Blount and the 12 pick for the 5 pick. I posted it in the Team Help forum, but apparently, it's closed for the offseason lol

  13. Wow, guess I was wrong on Gruden's estimation of Newton. During the QB Camp show it seemed like he was trying to push Newton and Newton was failing miserably at responding to that. Seems like Gruden had a different take on how Newton responded. :dunno:

Maybe Gruden just don't wanna be an A**hole and ruin the kids draft stock. Espn will never let one of their guys run down a kid too much. Or, maybe Cam walked out of there with Gruden's laptop and is holding it hostage for good reviews.

  14. Got an offer out there. I like Blounts future, but who is your target at 1.5 and why are they a better option? 1.12 has value, but how much?

    UPDATE:

After wheeling and dealing, here's what I ended up with...

  15. DETROIT LIONS

    REGULAR SEASON

Sunday, Sept. 11 at Tampa Bay, 1 p.m. LOSS Freeman and Co. are primed for a big year. But who will cover Calvin?

Sunday, Sept. 18 vs. Kansas City, 1 p.m. WIN Cassell will get exposed this year. And no one will cover Calvin!

Sunday, Sept. 25 at Minnesota, 1 p.m. WIN Lions take advantage of a couple of McNabb turnovers and pull out a surprise!

Sunday, Oct. 2 at Dallas, 1 p.m. LOSS Romo and Bryant shoot it out with Stafford and Calvin (unless Mrs. Stafford is hurt by then)

Monday, Oct. 10 vs. Chicago, 8 p.m. WIN A jacked up Mon. night crowd brings the roof down on the Bears.

Sunday, Oct. 16 vs. San Francisco, 1 p.m. WIN SF QB Blaine Gabbert struggles

Sunday, Oct. 23 vs. Atlanta, 1 p.m. LOSS Manning (I mean Ryan) is too much for Lions secondary

Sunday, Oct. 30 at Denver, 4:05 p.m. LOSS In a close one. Lions struggle out there.

    Sunday, Nov. 6 BYE

Sunday, Nov. 13 at Chicago, 1 p.m. LOSS Bears at home handle Lions. Unless Suh breaks Cutlers face early.

Sunday, Nov. 20 vs. Carolina, 1 p.m. LOSS Typical Lions. Newton runs for 150 yards, passes for 12. Yet Car wins...

Thursday, Nov. 24 vs. Green Bay, 12:30 p.m. LOSS Lions aint in their league.

Sunday, Dec. 4 at New Orleans, 1 p.m. LOSS See above...

Sunday, Dec. 11 vs. Minnesota, 1 p.m. WIN Lions sweep Minn and knock them out of playoff contention

Sunday, Dec. 18 at Oakland, 4 p.m. WIN No way mcFadden is healthy this late in the year, Best goes Beast back on the west coast!

Saturday, Dec. 24 vs. San Diego, 4 p.m. LOSS A playoff hungry Rivers has to score points, but they do win.

Sunday, Jan. 1 at Green Bay, 1 p.m. LOSS GB is gearing up for the playoffs and motors past a listless Lions team.

For a grand total 6-10. Typical Lions football, they'll beat a couple people they shouldn't, then lose to Carolina. Hopefully, they get some Oline and secondary help in the draft and play well enough to give us Lions fans hope. That is what we live on. Not success. Hope.

  16. Maclin and Nicks for sure.

If you can drop both qbs and target someone thats cool. Even if its not Freeman, you could go best player available early and grab another QB later, even if its one of the three you mention. I'd target rb before qb.

  17. “When you’re a Bears fan and you’re walking down the street and you see somebody wearing Bears apparel—a sweatshirt or hat—you get that warm squishy feeling in your heart,” said George McCaskey. “Now this is extended to the highways, and we encourage all of our fans to join in this program and show their pride in the team.”

When Bears fans see Calvin Johnson coming their way they get a warm squishy feeling somewhere else! Hint, hint, it's in the same place as where they get that warm squishy feeling Jay Cutler does when he a gets a boo-boo and has to cry in the locker room.

Seriously though, $70? I'd rather use that money to buy an actual game ticket than a license plate...
