Auction keeper league. Ray Rice $11 or Shonn Greene $4
-
Thanks guys. Wish I could keep both, but Rice it is.

when I put a custom note in, it puts ##### in other fields (tier, ffpoints, max bid) in the cheatsheet Mike, I have a screenshot I can send. I am adding notes in the far, far right column on the QB tab.

Yep, same issues. I helped Mike test some stuff out last year. It is all M$. They decided not to support VBA this time around and the macro abilities are limited, but they are planning VB in the next FULL release which is slated for 2011, I think. There are some third-party plugins to add VBA functionality in Excel08. Google it. But it did not seem worth the effort. Don't even try Numbers. Excel04 works very well, with some very minor limitations. Further reading: http://tr.im/qCmw

Been using Compiler for many years, but never fooled with PP. Well, I'm moving up. (Although I find fftoday's rankings to be very good). Anyhow, does anyone have a list of good sources for PP data? Free? There is a ton of data put there but what is reliable and accurate?

$100 salary cap. Should I keep Addai @ $12 or L Johnson @ $8.5? LJ is getting old and may split carries with Holmes, Bennett, or Koby. Addai should get all the carries and is young, but expensive. Thoughts? I will answer yours.

I am running 1.5e. What did 1.5f and 1.5g add? I have to manually copy over my scoring criteria (Mac bug). Am I missing anything? (Draft tomorrow). thanks!
-
Thanks guys. Mike, the "update projections" does work. But I cannot "copy league profiles" - I get a runtime error It's all good, I just update projections...wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything new

Keeper League, which one? Trent Green $9 Culpepper $3

I will be looking for the 9/1 update around noon. Is there any way to verify the date? Timestamp anywhere?
-
Generally, what TIME are these updates? I am trying to schedule my last minute changes/updates prior to the draft on 9/2.

If you add a comment to a cell, it is linked to that CELL. In other words, if you add a comment and re-run projections and the player moves, the comment stays attached to the CELL not the PLAYER. Does anyone know a work around. Comments would be AWESOME.
-
Yep, sure can. It is just an Excel file...but a SWEET Excel file.

Congrats, Mike. And you still answer posts quickly. You da man!

I opened Draft Buddy (and in turn Complier). When I try to "draft" a player using the drop-down menu, no names appear. Anyone else have this problem? It worked last year. (For Mike) Would it be possible in the drop-down menu to start typing a name "sm.." and it will bring up "smith" instead of scrolling through all names? Excel may not allow this. And assuming the menus work the same as last year.

*OK, here's the catch. Complier will work with Excel X (v.10), but the "Update Projections" feature returns an error. I have been working with Mike on this and it appears Excel v.10 has some issues with 'web queries' (which is what "Update Projections" uses). If someone knows more about Excel...that seems to be the missing link. But there is hope...see below. The good news is that Compiler including the "Update Projects" does work with Excel 2004 (v.11) at least on my initial test. But you v.10 uses are probably saying, "Hey man, I'm not going to pay $239 for the upgrade just to run Compilier!". Well, there is another option. MS offers a 30 day Test Drive of Office 2004 for Mac (link below). Here is the plan: set up your spreadsheet, wait until 30 days prior to your draft and download the Test Drive (200 MB!), then update your projections...you are all set. I do not think the Test Drive allows printing and if it does it will put a "Demo" watermark on the sheet. You can always open the "updated" Excel file with v.10 to print. That is the "free plan"...until next year. If anyone has luck with "Update Projections" with Excel X (v.10) please post them here, otherwise it appears you need the latest Excel (v.11) to use Compliers full abilities. I will continue to look for bugs on the Mac and post them here as well (fingers crossed). MS Office Test Drive Website

I struggled with this a little last year on how to set it up. Our league is very flexible. You do not NEED to start a TE. You have three lineup options (always have 1 QB, 1 K, and 1 DEF): A> 1 RB / 3 WR AND 1 TE B> 2 RB / 3 WR OR TE C> 3 RB / 2 WR OR TE Additionally, we draft a big team. You MUST draft 3 QB 5 RB 7 WR OR TE (You do not have to have any TE if you choose) 2 K 2 DEF Additionally we have 2 'bonus players' as round-robin after our auction. We have a keeper league and somethimes these picks end up being keepers if you want to gamble. Any suggestions? I know it is messy.

That would be a great feature, although your rankings are pretty good. However you cannot beat the 'average of averages' theory to get excellent rankings. I will list links as I find some.
-
Yes it does work with the Mac! A benefit over the 'footballguys' and being Excel makes it easier to edit the data. I used it last year with sucess, however there was (still is?) an issue the the "Update Projections" feature. Hopefully Mike fixes that this year (hint).
-
It appers if you turn off your built-in firewall under System Preferences the update will work. I did get an error, but I think it is because I have the latest update. I got the same error on my PC at work. Try it and see.
-
I use a Mac too, although I never got the update to work. People say they have had mixed success with Excel 2004 (I have Excel v.X) Try to turn off your firewall in System Preferences...

Great app, Mike! When I tried to update I got the folowing error on *both* my PC and Mac: Run-time error '1004': Unable to open http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/CompilerADPUpdate.htm. Cannot download the information you requested. <Continue> <End> <Debug> <Help> (greyed out) At least I *think* this is the error on my PC. I will confirm tomorrow, but it was similar.

Ditto that. I may not use Draft Buddy because of that reason alone.
