  1. Da Bears can only beat themselves in this one. If both teams play mistake free football, the Bears will roll. Defense and field position win games and no ones D comes close to Da Bears except Baltimore.

    Da Bears - 16

    Minnesota - 7 Final

  2. The niners have faired well against the Eagles. I think it was 2 years back the niners went to Philly and Philly was supposed to just pound them. Barlow ran for like 100+ against what was a REALLY good Philly D back then (I dont believe there have been many changes)

I would not lay 6 with the Eagles, Frankie G is money and the Eagles had their hearts ripped out last Sunday.

:shocking: Tears of joy seeing our little troopers blossom before our eyes!

Props to Scoot, Antonio Bryant is what you were predicting and the red and gold are finally playing with some emotion!

  3. So far I LOVE the Bears -3. Minnesota probably would have lost to Carolina if Gamble dosent gamble with the throwback with a 7 point lead late in the game?!?!

The Bears with last weeks offensive showing against a decent Detroit D might be the best team in football right now. I will take them at -3 whenever the opportunity presents itself. The bottom line is their offense would have to lay an egg to not cover, i think they should be ok.

  4. Alright, lets start breaking down what APPEARS to be strong plays. Im looking at this UCLA Washington game here and here is what I see:

    UCLA -3 vs Washington

Washington - Just had 2 BRUTAL games on the road at Oklahoma then at home vs. Fresno State. They looked pretty good in the first half vs Oklahoma (even though matador tackling led to one of their scores) and folded in the 2nd half. Then they came home and faced an always tough Fresno State team. If fresno State did not have the vicious game against Oregon the week before, they may have beat Washington. For those who missed it, the Oregon /Fresno State game was undoubtedly the hardest hitting game I have seen this season thus far. Bottom line, Pat Hills boys are blue collar and smack you in the mouth straight up. I know they REALLY wanted to "get on the map" by beating Oregon at home (which by the way they could have done if it wasnt for a field goal they blocked that Oregon recovered then scored on a fake FG for a TD) so they prepared heavily for that game and has less preparation for Washington the following week.

UCLA - Opened strong against a Utah team with great offense. UCLA's D kept Ratliff and boys to only one TD. Since then Utah has rolled their next opponents (Northern AZ and Utah ST) who are weak but none the less Utah showed their high powered offense is tremendous. The following week UCLA laid somewhat of an egg against Rice, but I think it was due in part to expecting to crush them. The line was 28, I dont think they saw Rice as any kind of threat. I think its safe to say that UCLA was looking ahead to their PAC-10 opener on the road at Washington. So basically with last week off, I think they have been preparing for this game for about 2-3 weeks now. Their well rested and SHOULD have a good strategy to contain Stanback. Without a doubt, Ty Willingham was salavating to beat Oklahoma on the road. I know they put a ton of time into studying Oklahoma and preparing for them. Then having to get ready for a brutal bout with Fresno State leaves me to think UCLA should be ready to roll on them here.

This sequence is eerily similar to that of the Michigan/Notre Dame game (Less the talent). Notre Dame started with 2 brutal games. Notre Dame went to G-Tech, Washington went to Oklahoma. Notre Dame then played Penn St at home and looked great, Washington played FS at home and won. Michigan crused through their first 2 week opponents preparing for ND and ate their lunches for them. This looks an awful lot like it should has the making for the same!

    INTERESTING TIDBITS[/b]

Conference Openers - Karl Dorrell's Bruins are 3-0 in Pac-10 openers, with each win coming against Washington (2003: 46-16 in Rose Bowl; 2004: 27-21 at UW; 2005: 21-17 in Rose Bowl). Overall, UCLA has won its last five Pac-10 opening games. The last loss in a conference opener came at Oregon in the 2000 Season.

Vs. Washington - For the fourth straight season, the Bruins will open conference play against the University of Washington. The Bruins have won the last five series meetings (8-1 in the last nine) and own a 35-28-2 lead in the all-time series which began with a game in the 1932 season. UCLA has won the last two meetings played in Seattle (2002, 2004) and three of the last four contests played in the Northwest (2000-L, 1998-W). Overall, UCLA has posted a 13-18-1 mark in games versus the Huskies played in Seattle.

No such thing as a lock, but it looks strong!

    GL

  5. Please let that be an official 17 receptions. I'm so worried they will overturn one of the Steelers catches and my bet will be graded as a loss.

Looks like my prop bets on first TD scored will be refunded. Must be an Olympic Sportsbook thing because Sportsbook.com has large odds for "no TDs scored".

Looks like your cool G-men, every site I checked has Big B with 17 completions...congrats!

  6. philly suggested the play and you said you liked it, but was "only going to put a C-Note on it." When I make $100 bets or more, I'm typically super-confident in the play (not that it works out, but still...)

Oh..gotcha! I must have missed where Philly suggested the play, what I saw him post was Jax in the first half and Jax +3 in the game, both lookin tough. The under to me was the strongest play. I've run the table in the early season so far so im playin with the mans money, but yeah a Benny is nothing to sneeze at. As long as were playin with profits though, the wagers will be slightly higher than usual.

I havent done a whole lot of posts in the wagering portion of the FFtoday board, but it looks like you guys are pretty serious and detailed with your plays. I look forward to the insight provided and will do my best to provide what I got as well.

May the schwartz be with us

  7. Overall NFL: 14-17; -3.7 units

Subset: 2 units or higher: 3-3; +0.0 units

    Monday

    Jacksonville (+3)@-115 for 2 units

    Jacksonville 1st H (+.5)@-105 for 1 unit

    Some key trends:

Jacksonville is 7-1-1 ATS last 9 as an underdog.

Jacksonville is 9-1 ATS at home vs Pitts

Pittsburgh is 1-3 ATS last 4 Monday night games

Pittsburgh is 10-0 SU in last 10 road games.

Pittsburgh is seeing 55% of the action. Jacksonville won 12 games last year. Why are they getting points? I didn't think Pittsburgh was the best team in the NFL last year, and they might be worse this year. They should not be favored in this game.

Jacksonville has played Pittsburgh tough over the years, especially at home. Probably because Jax has had a stout run defense, and Pittsburgh has been a run dominant team. Jacksonville beat Pittsburgh 23-17 last year in OT, in a game that Roethlisberger did not play. However, Fred Taylor did not play, so the impact of lost players is a cancel out.

Pittsburgh is known to be a great Monday Night team under Cowher, going 16-8 ATS, but recently they are 1-3 ATS, so that trend has seemingly run its course. And I think the amazing 10 game road winning streak by Pittsburgh comes to an end tonight, as how the hell can the streak continue? 10 games is staggering. 11 games would be impossible.

Last week, Pittsburgh was in great danger of losing to Miami, until Heath Miller caught a pass and took it the distance for kind of a fluke score. Pittsburgh got a pick after that, and the game was history. Miami showed that they are not yet a good team, as the just lost to Buffalo. Jax rallied, down double digits, to beat a pretty good Dallas team last week. And by game time, they were an underdog, much like tonight.

If Roethlisberg does not play, fantastic. But if he plays, I still think Jacksonville will win tonight. After falling behind to Dallas last week, I think Jax comes out hungry, and I played the first half as well. I thought about taking Jax on the money line, but there have been a lot of close games the last few years, and I'll take the 3 pts as possible insurance against a potential Pittsburgh comeback at the end.

The favorites went 11-4 ATS this week in the NFL. Time for a dog.

    Good luck to all.

Thanks for the detailed insight Philly!!! I played the under at 37.5, only for a c-note though. I just hate low total unders in the NFL because of spot foul Pass Interferences!

  8. Does anybody else use sportsbook.com?

I have been off and on for the past 4-5 years and, personally have had no issues.

BUT in reading on SBR, they seem to have a pretty poor rating and have had some issues in the past.

Where does everybody lay down their wagers?

I also use sportsbook.com, the only problem i've ever had was they claimed that they did not withdrawal a total of $600 from months ago and hit my acccount up much later, needless to say I was bent. Also, they no longer take bets over the phone anymore? Must be some new law or weird regulation?

Other than that they always seem to pay pretty quick

  9. [Are you drunk? That typing and spelling looks like a one-armed man typing during a seizure. :bench:

Classic. Actually as much as Lamont has sucked, if Walters remains QB (Shell would have to be a moron to put Brooks back there) then things will definately pick up. I dont have lamont, dont care for him or any other Raider, but the schedule WILL get softer!

  10. Early season stuff is always scary, last week I played it safe with a 10 pt teaser $600 for $500:

    Ohio St +12.5

    Bengals +12

    Eagles +4.5

Such a laffer I didnt bother checking scores, got hammered at Disneyland. This week I plan to do the same:

    Ravens -1.5

    Bengals - 0.5

    Chargers - 2

    I expect another cakewalk!

EEEAAAAASSSSYYYYYYYY money!!! :o Firin on the boys for Sunday night game, step up TO!!!
