  1. I think I can speak for all the regular degens that post on this thread. Don't throw stones on how others bet. And don't claim winnings unless you post your picks in advance and help others win wagers. We all don't win because we are individually lucky. We win because we all give insight and play decent angles on games.

If your truly up $2300 that is awesome. Now help the rest of us win like you so we can all share in the money!

Uhhh...Throw stones on how others bet?? You must have missed something, I was coming to my own defense against someone implying I was basically an uneducated wagerer, and stating a bet I was sharing was a "sucker bet". I have no reason whatsoever to show the amount of winnings to people on the internet I dont even know, I dont have anything to prove. I just used that to support that there are other waysd to wager successfully. To me $2300 really is not much money anyway so if it came across as trying to boast, that is not at all how I meant it!

As far as sharing info and angles on games, good deal....im in! :headbanger:

P.S. Nice run on your College picks today, im doing my 10pt teaser for Sunday for safety and 2nd halfers on select better teams that are at home and down at the half that look like theyll come back and pull off the cover(should it happen). Good luck! :P

  2. do you realize that if you parlayed those three you would have 3600?

ten point teasers are for suckers...

I like detroit, cincy, oakland, and st. louis

St louey is the best bet I think

I wouldn't touch seattle and atlanta

    jdon

HOLY COW! Are you serious?? Thanks captain obvious  There is a right time and circumstance to do certain wagers, in this case the teams I chose are MUCH better than their opponents and are playing at home. The idea of going for the big bucks while sexy, could be stressful and result in a loss. Is there anything wrong with taking what appears to be guaranteed money???? Your wagering style is a books dream!!

P.S. This "Sucker" is up $2300 so far in the early season betting an average of $200 per bet. :dunno:

  3. Throwing some more money at this jackass team.

    Maryland 2nd H (+7)@-105 for 2 units.

Consider that WV had a 4-0 turnover advantage, fumbled in the endzone and recovered their own fumble, returned a kick for a TD and also did not get saddled with a fumble in their own territory on the first drive. They are a very good team playing well, but they got a million breaks in the first half. The Maryland QB showed that he can pick apart the weak WV secondary during the second quarter. And after that initial blitz by WV of 4 TDs on their first 4 possessions in the first quarter, they settled down in the second quarter. I can't see Maryland quitting. This is an ideal 2nd half play. I just wish Maryland didn't suck so bad, or I would go heavier on the second half. Anyway, I like Maryland in the 2nd H.

I actually agree here, I just cant bring myself to do it!

  4. Best of luck to you, but I would love to be your book! Youve got a 50/50 chance with any pick due to point spreads, but even if half of those hit, I got the juice!

Quick question though.......Oakland??? Im dying to hear why they would have a chance in this game! Sean Salisbury said it best about the Raiders, they wouldnt be in contention for a for a BCS bid right now!

  5. No, I think LJ is a very talented running back. Its just that Shaun has proved a lot more in fantasy football and thus deserves more patience.

Actually this is very accurate. Plus the weapons around Shaun (with newly acquired Deion) makes the Seattle offense extremely well balanced craeting more opportunities for everyone. The KC worry is when will Trent be back to SOLID playing form. Right now the Chiefs will be pretty easy to defend, that box will be stacked. As long as there are PPR leagues though, Huard (eew that hurts to say) will be dumping it off to LJ pretty often I would think so he still should remain a top producer.

  6. Early season stuff is always scary, last week I played it safe with a 10 pt teaser $600 for $500:

    Ohio St +12.5

    Bengals +12

    Eagles +4.5

Such a laffer I didnt bother checking scores, got hammered at Disneyland. This week I plan to do the same:

    Ravens -1.5

    Bengals - 0.5

    Chargers - 2

    I expect another cakewalk! ;)

  7. You couldnt pay me to make that trade. Have you see LT2's schedule weeks 3-5? McNabb should be a top 3-4 QB, Vick is still Vick, and Moss cant catch any balls if the raider o-line cant give 3-4 secs for Brooks to drop back.

This is about right, not to mention too much risk for an already balanced attack. Your in good position as is, the trade has more potential for taking you under than putting you on top.

  8. Many of the experts like the Colts to at least make it to the superbowl this year. Having said that, with Addai having to go through learning the Colts system im not sure that he will make much of an impact early because Rhodes is "serviceable" and knows the playbook and system. But much like Pittsburgh does not rely on huge eye opening performances from the quarterback position to win, I dont think the Colts are looking for the next coming of Barry Sanders as much as they are looking for a great blocking back to utelize their strengths (Manning and Wideouts) and someone who has the pass catching skills and athletic ability to have a great upside in their system. Advantage Addai. Plus, a first round draft pick would be an extreme waste if they had no plans of him becoming their featured back sooner than later.

Im thinkin RBBC for the first few weeks then Addai takes over. With the chances of them really going deep into the playoffs, I just dont see Dominick Rhodes being the featured back. I see the guy most of us question right now as "A guy who sucked in the preseason" fitting into their system and having a significant impact. Sometimes I have trouble believing it myself, but the scouts and team heirarchy actually do know more than us!

  9. I always hate week one for wagering purposes! I've decided to just make it simple on myself and take the best values from ALL the games this weekend and go with guaranteed money via 10pt teaser:

    Ohio St. +12.5

    Bengals +12

    Eagles +4.5

$600 to get $500, theres always a chance one slips between the cracks and kills you when choosing 3 sides, I just cant see it happening here!

  10. Dude, from Pacifica here, LOVE my niners but after ALL the in-depth looks from every angle, were just not there yet. I wont really speculate until we have chemistry and a chance.

How I beg for the rest of eternity to be 1994..........

  11. I think everyone has back ups for players who arent even "injury prone". It could happen once, twice maybe never. Freddy T after 72 consecutive seasons of injury decided to stay on his feet for a bit.....

But if he stays up, and damn he looks like he is in his old form this pre-season (quick release, confident vibe) you get Peyton production in the 9th roud or later...........good gamble!

Go husband of Gozar the Gozarian!!!
