Long time reader - first time poster (In years) Reading the other bored (see how I did that?) I noticed the Gio/Hill thread where everybody just goes "my wife left me alone at home" bonkers speculating about the workload and future value of each. I have no opinion whatsoever on the Bengal situation but I do own Hill and I have a dilemma concerning him and Lamar Miller. FFToday prognosticators favor Miller (facing Denver at Denver) over Hill and his unknown timeshare with Gio at Houston. I hadn't even considered starting Miller over Hill and I'm more than surprised that my favorite, go-to, fun to read, fantasy website would see it so differently. But what do I know? Maybe I should start Chris Ivory instead... ESPN predicts Ivory to outscore Miller. Wait...
-
Nice. But you failed to mention the Hill/Miller dilemma. Miller over Ivory is pretty obvious.
-
Or, trade them both for a full-time starter and let someone else worry about which to start.
-
The first player that comes to mind when considering a phenom on a bad team is Barry Sanders.

Yes.

Maroney's starting ahead of Bradshaw and MBell.

Yeah, it's Edwards fault NE scored twice in 2 minutes.

What is a suitable deal to offer for Addai?
drd0g replied to Vanillarainstorm's topic in FFToday Board
Interesting thread. I have Addai in a redraft and a keeper league and the trade offers so far have been ridiculous. No, I won't trade my #1 pick for the equally underachieving Braylon Edwards. I won't consider a 2 for 1 of Fargas and Curry. And I certainly won't accept a QB in trade when I already have 4 QB's. Sometimes I wonder if traders even look at my team before they make an offer. -
Ironically, I have McFadden and Fargas in one of my leagues and seriously considered starting both. I had to choose between Fargas, Graham or White and I ended up choosing White. (Well, I guess I could still change my mind...) Oh, before anyone gets their camel toe in a pinch, this is for the flex spot. AD is RB1 and McFadden is RB2.

Keepers are forever in our league. And for every example of a player beneficial for 10 years there's another "star" keeper who's career flames out in 3 or less. Wasn't there a thread recently on the average length of a career for RB's? Or did I read that somewhere else? Anyway, as I recall, the average career was less than 4 years. QB's and WR's careers are longer but the majority of keepers are RB's. If the idea is to make fantasy football reflective of the NFL, how can you require owners to drop players after 3 years? Well, I know how - I'm wondering why.

On FFToday, would the appropriate spelling of hoard be hored? Or is it an adjective?
-
Further... may Brandon Jacobs and Santonio Holmes experience miraculous recoveries and the healing power of God allow them to produce 100 yard games and score 3 TD's. Combined. Or separately, if that be your will.

Commissioner Tanking - Whether this is and how to handle it?
drd0g replied to harmana's topic in FFToday Board
Doesn't matter. You have no rule to enforce. -
It appears to me that Heap and Hasslebeck have the same mom. :shocking:

Put the pipe down. Call a cab. Sleep it off.

I agree. I understand that it's not much consolation because of the outcome but Philly played a great game.

If you owned Westbrook, would you have the cajones to start him @ NE over these other options?
drd0g replied to vwneogeovw's topic in FFToday Board
That's all you needed to say. And the answer is... Westy. Unless... -
Just a guess but as to whether these guys play again this season... Henry - no LJ - yes McNabb - yes SAlexander - yes Do you want to be starting any of these guys? Maybe LJ... in a couple of weeks. Oh Calamity!

There already IS a playoff system. We're seeing it play out this year as double elimination, unless Kansas wins out. Win every week and advance up the polls. In this playoff system it is less about who you beat and more about whether you beat your opponent every week. Keep winning and you rise to the top. The rules are the rules and the BCS "procedure" to advance is what it is. The teams best at knowing the rules and playing to the rules, advance. Polls before October influence what we determine to be strong and weak teams but in reality we don't know how good teams really are until November. Wins in November expose imposter's and identify the REAL powerhouses of the year. On schedule strength; teams can't be held accountable for the strength of their conference opponents. Their non-conference schedule is set years in advance, in many cases, so diminished importance for beating teams like Miami, or Nebraska, or Alabama is understandable. And scheduling "cupcakes" is a term from the '70's, meaning the theory of scheduling weak opponents early has worked for at least 30 years. The BCS isn't cursed. While a playoff system would be wonderful, we have what we have and the teams playing TO the system succeed. The teams, and the individuals (homers) who support those teams, do themselves a disservice when they whine about the system and it's flaws. It is what it is. Exploit it. Oh, and the #4 and #5 spots have been lethal too.

I will puposely lose this week to a weaker team
drd0g replied to TimmySmith's topic in FFToday Board
I'm playing the last place team this week and have decided to sit Brady and Addai. Just so they're well rested. -
"Where people have been caught exposing themselves, they have been evicted from the stadium and often arrested," Jones told the AP. "Where other fans exhibit dangerous or illegal behaviors including harassment, they have been dealt with in similar fashion." EVICTED??? ARRESTED??? Damn morality police at it again. Or did the Jets front office stage this event to increase attendance?

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that has both Brenda AND Holmes. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/20...404465506_x.htm

All this righteous indignation because of the words "Draft Failure" in the subject line? Move along, there's nothing to see here. Damn rubberneckers...
