OK And the reason I am not confining my criticism of @peenie's post to THIS thread, as you and @TimHauck seem to want to do, is she was talking in a historical sense. She said: So we don't even know WHO she's complaining about trashing Vick. Which is why I asked her to post the historical data showing a significant trashing of Vick. I suspect she'd fine SOME geeks who trashed Vick in the past but a good number like me who said "I have nothing against Vick but he's not going to take you deep in to the playoffs with any regularity." Because QB's at some point have to good passers. But Peenie likes to just throw sh*t out without any backing evidence so when she makes sweeping generalizations I ask her to support them, just like @The Real timschochet who makes sh*t up all the time too.

I don't really remember. I never had anything specifically against Vick, even in Atlanta. But I remember him being the typical running QB who could throw some. He was a somewhat better version of Kordell Stewart. And my thing about ANY player is asking if they can consistently get you reasonably deep in to a playoff run so that your team has a chance to win a championship during their era. And with both of those players the eye test says no. At the end of the day a QB has to be able to accurately THROW the football and read defenses. When you get a couple games in to the playoffs you're going to be playing teams that play real defense and if you can't do those two things you're toast. And the worst thing EVER is having a fools gold player such that your team is OK but not great during their era. And that's what you got with Vick.

Well, McNabb was the starter. It makes sense he would get the criticism doesn't it? We don't criticize Jarrett Stidham here in Denver either. McNabb was traded and then Vick became the starter Had one good year and it was all downhill from there.

As far as your contention that Vick was a good starting QB with the Eagles, I just read Wikipedia to refresh my memory of his time there. I saw one good year, and they lost in the wild card round of the playoffs. Can you tell me specifically which years you're referring to?

But the fact is Vick was the type of QB who would win you a lot of regular season games where he plays a lot of bad teams, but not get you deep in to the playoffs where passing ability matters against GOOD teams. Of course you can. Tom Brady won the SB just a few years ago. Matthew Stafford won it AFTER Tom Brady. And while Pat Mahomes is mobile and a capable runner he is a pass first QB. Believe it or not honey there have been mobile QB's pretty much as long as the NFL has existed. The good passing ones just don't run out of the pocket at the first sign of trouble.

You have no idea what you're talking about. If running was the only attribute needed to be a good starting QB in the NFL Anthony Richardson would already be in the HOF.
