The nation is different than when those people were elected. That was back when most states weren't defined as Red or Blue or Purple. Nowadays, you define a landslide/mandate based upon the swing states and Trump won all of them. That's a much of a mandate as you're going to get in today's U.S.

FTA: I would agree with that last statement. People don't like uncertainty, and the Tariffs have definitely created uncertainty. That will stabilize and ebb over time. Trump is making a lot of moves in a short period of time. His supporters believe that's in the best long term interest of the country, and the poll results support this.
