Hopefully he did the right thing and made 20 copies of each and submitted all of them for Trump.

I'm not sold on Vivek. Not saying no but dude is a little too slick for me. Comes off like a conman or salesman. Got four years to win me over. -

Could this election outcome reset party practices?

I think I addressed your first paragraph in my last sentence of my post so we agree there. I don't have a problem with Desantis. I thought he would have been the better choice early on for this election. Looks like I was wrong on that one. Not a huge Haley fan for some reason. Can't tell you why but she rubs me the wrong way. Have always like Tulsi but can't really see putting someone up for Prez who just registered for the party and has little track record within the party. I don't know anything about Ducey but would look in to him if he ran. Your endorsement of him makes me curious for sure. Hopefully there will be a primary and we can pick the best option. At least we can have a rational discussion of who Trump's successor should be. Who are the Dems gonna offer up? Mayor Buttplug? Pass. Dude would be on maternity leave his entire term. Can't throw Kamalatoe out there again. Hitlery? Who do they even have? Not to mention that their party is being torn apart between the actual moderates, some of whom likely moved red during this cycle, and the extremists. It will be interesting to see if the tell their stances change over the next four years as a party. Because if they keep trotting out these extreme progressive ideas we're going to run the government for the next decade at least. -
We shouldn't be subsidizing healthcare!!! That's a big part of the problem. It's just another thing people are dependent on the government on. How about lowering the costs so those people can afford it WITHOUT subsidies?
-
I agree. Healthcare is the driving factor in when I retire. And what I hated most about the ACA was that it didn't address the actual problem, which is the cost of healthcare. And I believe there are things we can do to lower the cost of healthcare. And lowering the cost of healthcare would then lower the cost of health insurance, etc.....So put that at #2 on my list.
-
That's fine. Then we make more money. Do you think those country's don't need money? For many of them oil drives their economy. They usually lower output to drive up prices. They lose that leverage when we are producing in excess of our needs.

STOP THIS. FULL STOP. There is no "but get some reform on immigration in play." We allow more incoming, legal immigration than any country on the planet. Don't spew Dem talking points. There MIGHT be some tweaking we can do to our immigration system BUT that's AFTER we get control of our border and MOST of the illegals out. We have no obligation to LET people come in to our country unless it benefits US. We were supposed to have this illegal immigration thing under control when Reagan gave up amnesty for a strong border and workplace enforcement back in 1986 (IIRC). Funnily, the government forgot about the border and workplace enforcement parts of that bill as soon as amnesty was granted. So I'm not doing "immigration reform", meaning making millions of illegals legal, BEFORE getting the incoming flow slowed to a trickle.
-
I'll have to think more about it for a full list but closing the border has to be #1. And quit giving those freeloaders that came here under Biden free money. I'll never understand that. Even if we can't stop you from crossing our border, we don't have to pay for you to stay at 4 star hotels on the taxpayer's dime.

J.D. Vance is 40 years old. He'll be 44 if/when he runs for President. That's not too young IMO. Do we want all our candidates to be geriatric old people? And he'll have four years of learning the job under his belt, something literally no one else will have, at least from his party. It would give us stability and continuity in the office for once. The GOP hasn't had consecutive terms since when? There is a lot of work to do so I'd like them to have the time to do it. We'd be so much better off if Covid hadn't hit and Trump had had two consecutive terms to implement his/our agenda. Absent something disqualifying happening over the next four years I'm all in on J.D. -

I've said this before and I'll say it again. The difference I see between the two parties legislatively is - The things the GOP implements tend to be reversible. Lower Taxes, border enforcement, etc.....The things the Dems like to implement are permanent or very difficult to reverse. Obamacare, letting in 10 millions illegals (or more) in just 4 years, etc. ..... Trump is going to have his hands full dealing with the border disaster Biden left us. Hopefully that's his #1 priority and he gets started on it day one or earlier. Other than that fortunately Biden didn't do too much damage. We can recover from inflation and hopefully possibly even reverse some of the price increases. We'll see. What we really need is more time to reverse all this crap and get the country back on the right track. Hopefully we can have at least a couple terms in power. Going back and forth between the two parties or giving the Dems major control of government for multiple terms has been a big problem. I hope J.D. Vance is more prominent than most V.P.'s and shows himself a worthy successor to Trump. 8-12 years of good policy could do wonders for this country. -

it doesn't have to be just one thing. I believe it's several. For me: - Biden has been a trainwreck and Kamalatoe has stated she wouldn't do one thing differently. She didn't do anything for the few jobs she was given as VP and you can't trust her positions on anything. She ran as much of a basement campaign as Biden, just in plain sight. Biden did enough damage and another 4 years of similar policies would leave this country in shambles so voting for her was not an option. - I voted 3rd party in 2016. I didn't think Hitlery OR Trump were qualified to be President. Much like Vance, Trump proved me wrong. I agreed with most of his policies and, unlike most candidates, his policies mirrored what he ran on. So I have an idea of what I'm getting in Trump and expect his policies to be mostly in line with what I believe in. So voting for him was easy this time around. There are a lot of other reasons to vote for him, some of which might be specific to certain ethnicities/religions. If I'm Jewish I vote for him just for Israel's sake. If I'm black I vote for him due to the history of the Dems doing nothing for us but Trump doing more for blacks in one term than most Presidents do in multiple terms. So, there are a lot of reasons to vote for Trump and I suspect most people have at least a couple. -

Just for the record - It's not 3:50 AM Eastern time and neither CNN or MSDNC has called this race. Both are sticking with Trump only having 266. Pathetic. -
