Hey @The Real timschochet, Roman Polanski could use your words of wisdom. Can you defend him like you always do after he settled ANOTHER case of raping a teenage girl? No word yet on whether she "looked" older. https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/roman-polanski-avoids-trial-alleged-1973-sexual-assault-minor

Trump: “It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to bury a f****** Mexican!”
Strike replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
It looks like it got paid for. Whether he did it or the government did I have no idea. The family sure doesn't act like he snubbed them and, since this story looks like it's fake, we can assume the 60k cost is likely fake too. -
A lot of time the reason for having you call the night before is in case the trial doesn't happen. It can be postponed, a plea bargain can be reached, etc......

This post is not specifically trans related. This kid killed himself after becoming addicted to a chatbot: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/10/chatbots-posed-as-therapist-and-adult-lover-in-teen-suicide-case-lawsuit-says/ I know it sounds stupid but what it shows is how easily children can be manipulated and groomed. This kid KILLED HIMSELF because he wanted to live in the chatbot's world. But some people are ok with letting similar kids decide to cut off their junk or boobs.

It's companies competing for in demand employees. One of the companies I mentioned was a benefits consulting firm. I was in IT but the company was a financial services company. Companies that are significantly profitable and seeking highly desirable employees offer better benefits. And this is one of those benefits.
-
If there are 10 million companies in this country and 1000 of them offer paid jury duty that is still many. Additionally, large companies employ a significant percentage of our workforce. And a good chunk of those larger companies are going to offer this benefit so the percentage of employees who have this benefit is probably much larger than the percentage of companies offering it.
-
Of my last four jobs at least two of them paid me my regular salary for the time I was on jury duty with no limits. I don't know about my current job. The commonality amongst the jobs that did is they are Fortune 500 companies. Large corporations usually have better benefits than small companies. Heck, one of them gives two days of bereavement leave......for your pet. Note that I said many. Not necessarily a majority. I am sure most small businesses can't afford to do so or can't afford to be without employees for extended periods of time. But in larger companies I don't think it's uncommon.

It is? Mayor Pete? Warnock? Newsom? -
I didn't say they were required. Many employers do pay for it though. If not claim financial hardship.

Many employers pay you for your jury duty. In most other cases financial hardships is a valid reason to get out of jury duty.

No. He's funny and snarky. And intelligent. That's why he's the king of late night despite not being available in nearly as many homes as the other late night shows. -
Yep. I didn't remember it but one of my co-workers said there was a question about his real age at the time.

Apparently you didn't read the statement from the girl's sister who thanked Trump for all the supporr he gave her family and said she voted for him yesterday. .You aren't "being fair.". You're pretending to be fair. -

I read up to the parts where the people supposedly at the meeting where Trump yelled about the 60k are "anonymous" and then where people who WERE at the meeting and were not anonymous said he never said that. That and the timing of this article is enough to convince me it's just a hit piece, one of the "October Surprises" we've been expecting.
