Hey @TimHauck, why aren't you calling out @The Real timschochet for this blatant lie? Has it "aged well?" -
Why is American food so much worse than European?

The evil food corporations are gouging. How dare they make a 1% profit on the goods they sell!!!! -
New Study -Turns out the Earth is at about it's coldest point of the last 485 million years
Strike replied to Strike's topic in The Geek Club
You're really reaching but technically you got me there. What they have said is that after we reach the point of no return recovery will be impossible. That's why we have to cut fossil fuels by massive amounts in just a short period of time. Are you disputing that characterization of what we've been told as well? But the article says there is a direct correlation between CO2 and global warming: I get that you and people like @TimHauck like to play semantic games but why don't you just look at the larger point and not do that? -

No one has made that argument. Good job with your straw man. -

From the U.N. in 2022: Space.com: https://www.space.com/climate-tipping-points-closer-than-realized I could go on and on with links but no reason to. But you're telling me we haven't been told there is a point of no return. GTFOH. -
Controversial death penalty execution allowed to proceed in Missouri today
Strike replied to cmh6476's topic in The Geek Club
I've actually been following this case pretty closely. The evidence is very strong for guilt here. The "new" evidence isn't new. The big reveal was that his DNA wasn't on the knife used to kill the victim. This turned out to be a falsehood. It's true they couldn't find any but that's because the knife had been contaminated with the DNA of people who worked the original trial. Even the defense's own expert witness testified that he couldn't say that Williams' DNA WASN'T on the knife, just that there were multiple DNA samples. That's unfortunate but the conviction didn't rely on DNA to begin with. The other evidence was sufficient to convict and sentence him to death. Additionally, a previous governor had appointed a special panel of judges to look in to the case and, after SIX years, they still hadn't come to a conclusion. The current governor said enough is enough and disbanded that commission, and I agree with that decision. You should be able to form a conclusion after six years absent some new revelation about the crime. Neither the defense or the people up in arms over this case have refuted one piece of evidence that actually tied Williams to the crime, such as all the victims belongings being found in his car, the FACT that he sold the victim's husband's laptop a day or two after the crime was committed, etc.....This case is only "controversial" due to the activists using it to push their agenda. To Jerry's point - I would rather we come up with a new standard of guilt for capital cases. I've said this before. I think the standard should be "beyond ALL doubt" instead of "beyond reasonable doubt." That would also allow us to expedite the execution of the sentence. However, absent that I'm ok with the current process although I'd still be in favor of expediting executing the sentence. I don't believe in abolishing the death penalty. There are simply some cases where it is an appropriate punishment. On another note, there was another execution tonight. In Texas. Good riddance to both of them. -
Doubtful.

For some of us our multiple cars are toys. They're paid off so the only real expense is insurance. Why shouldn't I have toys? As far as the best financial advice, I'd.put invest in a 401k, don't just put your savings in a shoe box under your bed, don't run up your credit cards, and a lot of other things before don't have multiple vehicles. I hope you don't make a living in the financial services industry.

It's the focking NY Times, your gold standard of journalism. What did the same poll say in August? You're so full of sh*t. Always have an excuse when data doesn't support your world view. -
Neither do you.

Wrong as usual. A simple Google search shows that banks list foreclosed properties at market value.

Why should they agree that the mother gets primary custody? What if her parenting is the main reason he's divorcing her?

It was horrible from the few clips I saw. Word salad with nothing of substance. Oprah had to bail her out on more than one occasion. -

Trump vs Harris Policy Thread - $10,000 PER KID FOR HOMESCHOOL $7,000 COST OF LIVING REDUCTION
Strike replied to JuneJuly's topic in The Geek Club
1) WTF are you talking about GOP vs. Dems? I hate them both. Never been registered with either. Can you say that???? I hate Trump. His POLICIES align much more with mine than Kamalatoe's. That's the ONLY reason I'm voting for him. I've said it a million times in the last 8 years. I HATE defending Trump. He's a bigger d*ck than you, and that's saying a lot. 2) Care to actually SUPPORT the bolded assertion? Trump isn't the one who wants to go after grocery stores, with their ridiculous 1-3% profit margin, for GOUGING. -

Fair enough. Would be surprised if this is a Trump policy. It's usually Libs that try to tell businesses how much money they can make. Trump should know better. -

I have no idea. I wouldn't support it from anyone. Is that all you care about? Who proposes something?
