    Project 2025

I want to apologize to all my leftist GC'ers who tried to warn us about Project 2025. Turns out it is real and I am very worried now. I should have voted for Kamala
  3. It's official. The GOP will retain control of the House. Currently 218-209 with 8 races left to call.
  4. Here you go Jerry. As if we needed more evidence of how anti science Scientific American, and indeed most 'science" mags are nowadays: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14066449/Laura-Helmuth-Editor-Americas-oldest-magazine-faces-call-resign-anti-Trump-rant.html Such a shame. I grew up on these magazines and it's so sad seeing them destroy all their had gained credibility.
  5. Recent polls disagree with you, and I know how much you love polls.

Old Maid to the White Courtesy Phone Please

Yep. Me too. Didn't always agree with her but thought she was more of a stand up person than this.

What will President Trump do about the January 6 defendants?

You don't deserve to get murdered for trespassing. Isn't that what you always say when a cop shoots a violent perp?

Ohhh RFK Just Posted this on his Tiktok

@jerryskids You should give @jonmx a break. Obviously he feels a bit stronger about some of this stuff than you (or I) do but he's not wrong. It's just levels of outrage about it. But he was about the lone voice of reason/conservatism over at FBG's when they had a political forum, constantly getting attacked by the lines of squissy and Tim. He may have a little PTSD from that forum. He did yeoman's work there though. @jonmx Chill out a little dude. Jerry is good people and for the most part agrees with you on most topics. He may just be a little more nuanced and/or not believe quite as strongly as you. That's ok though. Remember, the complaint at the PSF was their unbalanced treatment of the many opinions that can exist on any given topic. Here we allow all sides to be heard. You don't have to go ballistic against everyone who doesn't agree with you 100%.

What will President Trump do about the January 6 defendants?

He's gonna pardon a good chunk, as he should. Hopefully he holds the small percentage that actually committed crimes accountable but if their sentence is excessive I'm fine if be pardons them too.

    Kamala for the Supreme Court!!!!

Thanks for this. I forgot how often Tim gets basic facts wrong. From her Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elena_Kagan It also details her career so I trust it as a source better than @The Real timschochet
  16. And this post is a perfect example of why I don't spend a lot of time discussing stuff with you. But I won't waste any more time on your goal post moving,, has nothing to do with this thread topic, BUT TRUMP bullsh*t and just say that my response perfectly answers your query: And I'm glad you agree with me. Of course, you don't really. If I asked if you would vote to repeal the .5 % tax Los Angeles is charging to "combat" homelessness because it's ineffective and thus putting an undue burden on it's citizens, especially it's poor ones, you'd say of course not. You think the more money the government gets the better. They know what to do with our money much better than we do.
  17. The liberal answer to everything is give us more money and TRUST us to use it wisely.
  18. I'm arguing that they are WASTING money. That's what I wrote. Do you not understand what that means? They're spending 800k per unit to address homeless, and it's taking years for that to even happen: https://reason.com/2022/02/25/audit-l-a-spending-as-much-as-837000-per-unit-of-housing-for-homeless/ Meanwhile, word has gotten out that LA is doing this crap so MORE homeless are heading there looking for a handout. It's not addressing the problem. Bring down the cost of housing and work on creating more jobs so the unemployed homeless can earn some money to pay for housing. That's how you address it. Not WASTING money on apartments at 800k. Did we not learn anything from the projects we put black people in 50 years ago?

    Minimum wage

    Except it doesn't. HTH.
  20. You lucky Californians you: - CARB just passed new rules that will increase gas prices as much as 65 cents a gallon. - Los Angeles is increasing their sales tax by a quarter cent to address homelessness. This is despite increasing the sales tax a quarter cent back in 2017 for the same reason and seeing homelessness INCREASE to almost double. IOW, they're just wasting money but increasing taxes. REJOICE!!!!!

    Minimum wage

Gee, we've NEVER had a discussion about minimum wage before, have we Tim? Why do you feel compelled to start the same threads every couple of years? I mean, the arguments are there and you won't agree with those opposing minimum wage any more than you did 3 years ago when we had this discussion at FBG's, so what's the purpose?
  22. Multiple times. He sounds intelligent and articulate. Have you heard Tampon Tim speak?

    Where's BOYO?

@OldMaid but that's been well documented. Seems most of the libs have gone MIA though.
  24. Squistion spends all day browsing Twitter. When Trump first bought Twitter and put a limit on how many tweets you could read in a day for free, something thousands of tweets, Squissy went apesh*t saying some of us read a lot of tweets. It's basically his life, other than pigeons.
