After reading Jerry's post I agree with this. A couple of guys I worked with were on the 19th floor of a downtown Los Angeles skyscraper when the 6.8 Northridge earthquake hit. IT guys doing off hours upgrades. They didn't even know there had been an earthquake until they left to go home and heard about it on the radio.

In a modern skyscraper designed for earthquakes you wouldn't even know one hit if you were on the 36th floor.

EVs come from the factory with a much larger carbon footprint than a gas vehicle. The best estimates I've seen say it takes 6-8 years before an EV is on an equal level as a gas powered vehicle re: their carbon footprint. And that's without the whole what do we do with these batteries when they need replacing thing. So an EV will get there.......eventually......but short term they're as bad or worse for the environment than any gas powered vehicle.
