Timmy’s thread for general discussion
Strike replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Regardless of whether there was a larger point, when your evidence supporting your stance on the larger point is 100% wrong maybe you should rethink your stance on that larger point as well. Regarding all these cases, of course they're all politically motivated. Let's just talk about the classified documents case. First off, we still don't know exactly what he had and whether he was allowed to have it. But we know that the President can declassify pretty much anything he wants. So, the worst thing you can say about Trump in this case is that he had documents he could have declassified but didn't. That's a pretty weak argument. But if we compare it to Biden's case, Biden had classified documents from his time as a senator. There is a huge difference between what a President is allowed to do with classified documents compared to a senator. A senator can't even look at classified docs outside of a SCIF. Yet Biden took them home. Whether Trump should be prosecuted or not, Biden should be subject to the same if not harsher treatment given his violations as senator. But the excuse they gave for not prosecuting Biden was that he was too old or some crap like that. He's too old to be prosecuted for violating our highest security protocol's but not too old to be President? I mean, seriously dude, if you can't see how this is a politically motivated case I don't know what to tell you. It couldn't be more clear and obvious. The Atlanta case. Fani met at the WH multiple times before indicting Trump. She has operatives from the Feds in her office. And it goes on and on. Again, it couldn't be more clear and obvious that this case is politically motivated. Throw in the states trying to remove Trump from the ballot. This is a concerted "lawfare" effort to prevent Trump from being a presidential candidate. That's what those of us who use data and logic to form opinions think. Those of you who use emotion and the MSM to form their opinions may feel differently. -

And here is you eating crow. Have you reconsidered your stance yet???? Seems like it should be worth doing. It's a pretty big case ya know. Or are you afraid to admit Trump might actually be being prosecuted for political purposes? Can't have that, can we??? -

Here you drag us through the mud, and then later have to eat crow and admit you're wrong and that your getting the cases wrong was actually a big deal. -

And another post where you say it's about tax fraud. -

@The Real timschochetThis is your post after I pointed out that the banks didn't believe Trump committed a crime. Your stance was that it was about tax fraud. You can't change your stance now. -

No,. Full stop. Your ENTIRE argument justifying the trial we discussed last week was that it didn't matter if there weren't any victims or that this law was not intended to be used in this way, but that Trump was committing "tax fraud" which was costing us taxpayers a lot of money. Don't change your story now. The posts are still there. You're trying to rewrite history again. Full stop. You don't get to do that. And my "correcting" you required a lot of time because you wouldn't believe me, not to mention you dragging my and EG's name through the mud before you finally had to admit I was right. Focking stop rewriting history. -

She used a smaller ball. Get back to me when men and women use the same ball. -

I don't know if I'd call them lies, but you misstate facts CONSTANTLY. Assuming Volty's data is correct, there's an example right there. Last week I made you eat crow on the NY case where they fined Trump 400+ million. And I've done it a bunch of other times since you joined this forum. It's one of my biggest beefs with you. I have no problem discussing our differing opinions, but when I have to waste a bunch of time just to achieve agreement on the FACTS, which shouldn't be necessary, it gets tiring. -

Yeah. Not being familiar with her I looked up her stats. In 2 of the last 4 games her FG% is like 33%. Not great. And she uses a smaller ball. But her other stats (reb, assists, etc....) seem pretty good so she seems like a well rounded player. That being said, I set a timer to record the game today to see what the hype is all about. -
What's weak is you trying to use an article from 3 days after Israel was attacked to suggest they're been heavy handed in their response.

Uh, they gave warnings and people evacuated. They aren't carpet bombing occupied areas. FFS.

It's not intended to be an "analogy". It just shows that the question isn't whether the state should care, but at what point. The drugs given to kids for "gender dysphoria" do irreversible damage, just as the surgeries do. I believe, and I think this is Jerry's stance as well, that when it gets to the point of irreversible damage is when the state should care. -

What about corporal punishment? If a kid shows up at school all bruised and beat up, should the state care? -

I said "people like" Riley Gaines you dolt. You can substitute Ben Shapiro for her if you must. It's not about what she stands for. It's about her ability to exercise her RIGHT to free speech without being threatened or harassed. If you don't care about people like Ben Shapiro or Riley Gaines why should I care about people who read Yik Yak? And if they weren't reading Yik Yak they wouldn't even know about these non verified threats. -

Apparently the article is about harassment on a social media app called "Yik Yak" that I've never heard of. But apparently, much like 4chan, this app is a haven for harassment and bigotry to the point that the app was shut down in 2016 for that very reason. The problem here is social media and with apps such as "Yik Yak". So this issue is always going to exist. You're going to be able to write this article for ANY incident you want. IOW, IDGAF. But go ahead and have a hissy fit over it. Funny you never do when someone like Riley Gaines is threatened on social media. But you do you. -

Civil process officer, police officer killed in Kansas city area shooting
Strike replied to cmh6476's topic in The Geek Club
Absolutely!!! The results speak for themselves. Police officers aren't trained to deal with mentally unstable individuals. Social workers would have been able to peacefully talk this guy down from shooting anyone. That's what I'm told anyways. -
The legislative branch allowed the executive to expand it's power. That's the problem when two branches decide to work WITH each other instead of maintaining the balance the founding fathers purposely put in place.

I stopped right after this and the subsequent "they have earned nothing" statement.
