I never said there wouldn't be humans, Pedoboy. In fact, in my first post I specifically said the result of this law in CA would be 80% of the jobs going away, which was just a quick guestimate. But there's no doubt that higher labor costs for menial jobs will result in more automation. Anyone who thinks I was suggesting all jobs would be lost when I gave a specific prediction that indicated not all jobs would be lost is an idiot. You and MDC fit the bill.

No, you're not right. They go to automation when the labor costs become excessive. That's why for the most part they've only played with it up until now. It's the same thing as the peach picking jobs "Americans won't do" so we have to let millions of illegals in to do. There is plenty of automated machinery to do that job. Many countries use it. Because we allow our borders to be overrun with people willing to do it cheaply farmers haven't gone to that equipment yet. If we closed our borders they would. We wouldn't be lacking for peaches cause no one would pick it. I have no problem with working people making more, as long as that more comes from natural market forces and not being artificially inflated through poor government policy.

Probably a good reason, if you're going to live there, to get an education and not expect to raise a family working at McDonalds.
