Any lawyer who cares about practicing law would not perjure themself in front of congress regardless of how much of a joke they though the committee they were testifying in front of was. You do realize that the burden of proof is on the prosecution, right? If the prosecution doesn't prove a crime the defense doesn't need to mount a defense. You do understand that don't you?

He's be an idiot to testify. For one thing, the prosecution hasn't proven it's case. Second, From what's been posted the judge is going to let the prosecution go to town on him if he testifies. In most cases it's a mistake for a defendant to testify. In these circumstances it would be a colossal blunder.

I strongly disagree with you about the mic thing. Debates have become unwatchable because all the candidates do is yell back and forth at each other and/or go way over their allotted time. Just because you can't speak over your opponent doesn't mean it's just prepared statements. You still have rebuttals and, if the debate is legit, you don't know in advance exactly which questions are even being asked.
