AG Garland Appoints Special Counsel For Hunter Biden Case
Strike replied to paulinstl's topic in The Geek Club
What a load of crap. He appointed David Weiss, the same attorney already working the case and who's office tried to weasel in a special deal for Hunter. He's compromised. This impedes congress' investigation. If they really wanted to "get to the truth" they would have appointed a NEW person as special counsel. That's the whole point of a special counsel. To have someone both sides are happy with performing an independent investigation. -
Just so y'all know and don't waste your time, @The Real timschochet still thinks MIchael Brown was actually "hands up don't shoot"ing despite all the investigations that PROVED that wasn't the case.

Why are you limiting your scope to lavish gifts? Aren't ANY suggestions of impropriety enough? Interesting phrasing you're using there, Mr. "Ethics." -

Cocaine Found in the White House - CNN Reluctantly Acknowledges it Two Days Later in an Interestingly Worded Article

I'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about their policies. Policies the GOP endorses, like lowering taxes, are reversible. The Dems do things that are transformative in nature and, realistically, not reversible. That's the whole point of being "progressive." So they enact things like Obamacare, which we all knew would be a disaster. And, sure enough, it has been. It has destroyed the individual health care market and done nothing to address the cost of health care. But it can't/won't be repealed. So we're stuck with this POS bill instead of addressing the actual problem. And we've allowed several million illegals to come in to our country since Biden was elected, and those people aren't ever leaving. The list goes on and on. -

The problem with a lot of Dem policies is they don't cause immediate damage. Their damage is long term. If you think letting in millions of unvetted "refugees" over a short period of time won't come back to haunt us, you're wrong. It's already causing an impact in places like NYC, Texas, and in particular the border towns. But we will see significant long term damage from letting all these people in. -
No. In a lot of places it's baked in to property taxes.
-
Yeah, apparently there is a "multiplier" you can buy for an extra buck. So you got 7 tix @ $3 and we got 10 tix @ $2. You might win a little more but we got like .0000000000000000001% better odds than you.
-
We are on vacation and were at a convenience store earlier and dropped $20 on tix. WINNING!!!!

Why would a parent put their kid in a school that can't meet the kids needs? Seems like you're just looking for reasons to complain.

Not sure if he still holds the record but for a long time he held the record for highest FG% in the postseason IIRC.

Dude, it's not about "getting" you. It's about having an intelligent discussion and NOT wasting time having to correct you so you don't continue posting from an incorrect position of understanding. If you're not sure what SOMEONE ELSE said, don't speak for them so *I* don't have to waste my time finding the post to prove you wrong so you don't continue down an incorrect tangent.

This is the bigger question you should ask of yourself. Public schools are funded through taxes. And as a parent, your biggest job is properly preparing your children to live in this world. Education is one of the biggest pieces of that. When the public schools aren't doing their job to your satisfaction you may feel forced to send your kids to private school. So, in that case you're being forced to fund the public schools through your taxes AND on top of that pay for the private school. I literally went through this myself back in the late 70's/early 80's, when the Los Angeles Unified school district decided to desegregate schools by sending people from the suburbs to inner city crap schools and send the black kids from those schools out to our suburb schools. Besides having to take an hour (or longer) bus ride each way, the schools in the inner city were crap. Fortunately for me, my parents could afford to send me to a private school and that's what happened until the LAUSD pulled their head out of their A$$. But a lot of parents don't have that option. But they should. And this is one way to help them. If the public schools were as good as the private ones most parents would be find sending their kids to them. Let them compete with the private schools.

ROFLMAO. As you can see from Hawkeye's response, he doesn't dispute my interpretation of his stance on this. Yet you felt compelled to speak for him and dispute it. The FACT that you're wrong will probably not faze you though. Did you miss this sentence, from the SAME post you're trying to quote: Is it still your assertion that he didn't say she didn't campaign on that issue, or are you going to admit you're wrong? AGAIN!!!!
-
That's interesting. However, the reason I asked is that Hawkeye said she didn't campaign on this issue and people wouldn't have voted for her if she did. But your link says she did campaign on this issue. In fact, it looks like she's been trying to get some form of this passed for years. So it looks like people voted for her despite knowing this was one of her things.

You got some links to some polls or articles about all these upset "public" people?
