LIBERATION DAY: US economy now in reverse
Strike replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
What I hate is when he mischaracterizes articles or data. As in this case where he says Trump's tariffs are causing inflation but even the article he cites doesn't support that assertion. Is he just stupid or is he purposely mischaracterizing the article? I don't know. I really don't. -

Most of us used to try to have "thoughtful" discussions with you. Then we realized we'd spend a bunch of time on posts like his and it would be completely worthless in the long run. You're incapable of having "thoughtful" discussion," and you repeat the same crap over and over such as this and the other thread @supermike80 referenced so "thoughtful discussion" with you means repeating the same thing over and over a month later. Some of us are way past that, and I'm sure @Mark Davis won't be posting as "thoughtfully" to you a year from now as he is now. -

I don't think this thread is going like the OP thought it would. -

And premature. Look, if Trump's tariffs cause inflation that would be worthy of discussion. But so far there's no evidence of that happening and Tim is just projecting what he wants to happen out there because he couldn't wait for it to actually happen before starting a thread. -

If you don't understand why we're doing this you shouldn't be trying to discuss it. You may not AGREE with the reasons, but Trump and his team have made the reasoning crystal clear. -

So do you have a link that says Trump's tariffs are ALREADY causing inflation, or are you projecting? It's pretty simple. Yes or No will do, Narcissist. -

I would invest half of it in low-risk mutual funds and take the other half over to my friend Asadulah who works in securities

Short term and pretty insignificant, and nothing about Trump's tariffs in that article. Heck, that's about last year when Tim says any inflation is caused by Trump's tariffs. Says so right in the title of this thread, which I'm reposting here so Tim can't change it and say that's not true. -

Tim, let me give you a quick lesson on inflation. We ALWAYS have it. The question is always about the rate of change of inflation. If you've got links to that go for it. But saying we have inflation and posting articles that don't say that is called lying, something you do frequently. And you're just projecting what you want to happen. -

ROFLMAO. Every one of your links uses words like "fear" or "warns of." Show me one that says "HAPPENED." -

Of course you do. it's not even happening and you started this thread, and lied in your characterization of the article you cited. If Trump doesn't fail YOU don't get to start threads like this. And we all know how you love to start threads. Therefore, you want it to happen so you can start threads. Because it's all about YOU. -

Of course it does. You libs keep screaming like Chicken Little and blaming Trump for everything. There's a direct correlation between that and poll numbers. -

What's sad is that inflation is not up significantly, and nothing in his article says that it is. That's Tim on his pulpit, projecting what he WANTS to happen because Tim doesn't want America to succeed as long as Trump is President. He's a pathetic, sick fock. -

Another plane crash, today, 2 small planes collided in mid-air
Strike replied to Gepetto's topic in The Geek Club
Don't be. Air travel is still the safest form of travel in the world today. Especially when you're talking about commercial air travel there are several systems working to prevent accidents. You have ATC obviously, then you have something called ADSB which allows planes to see where each other are, and there is a system called TCAS that commercial planes have that will monitor the area right around that plane and tell the pilots what to do to avoid another plane that is in danger of hitting them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_collision_avoidance_system Relatively speaking, flying small planes like the ones that collided in AZ today is much more dangerous than commercial and I still feel totally safe every time I go up. Lurch will be fine -

It's a pretty busy non-towered airport. It's actually scheduled to get a tower but doesn't look like that will happen until 2029: https://www.abc15.com/news/region-central-southern-az/tucson/air-traffic-control-tower-project-at-marana-regional-airport-set-new-deadline-after-delay There are protocols pilots follow at non-towered airports that are different than towered airports. Will be interesting to hear if those were followed in this case. Very sad. -

Let's not forget that Biden announced that he would be OK with a "minor incursion" by Russia in to Ukraine. He basically invited Putin in. -
