I get what you're saying and don't disagree with it in normal life. But sports is different. You only have so much time to earn as much money as you can and you don't know how your skills are going to translate to the pros. If I had the opportunity to play a pro sport I would absolutely do my best to get as much money up front as possible in case it didn't pan out. Then if I wasn't happy with my situation I would find a way to get out of it. There are plenty of ways to do that. But if Shedeur turns out to be a bust he's going to make a couple million bucks and be out of the league in 3 years. And Ryan leaf will be laughing at him. Shedeur's brother could end up earning more money than him. And I say all this as a guy who lives in Colorado and watched all of his games and enjoyed them and hopes he succeeds.

You don't ever make up lost money in sports. He's going to get a 5th round contract. That time at that lower salary is lost money. He can still make a lot of money if he's good but it will be a lot of money minus the difference between a 5th round and 1st round first contract.

The nation is different than when those people were elected. That was back when most states weren't defined as Red or Blue or Purple. Nowadays, you define a landslide/mandate based upon the swing states and Trump won all of them. That's a much of a mandate as you're going to get in today's U.S.

And they're not even in the same league as OKC in the West. So, they're not going anywhere for the duration of LeQuit's career and probably not foreseeably after either.

FTA: I would agree with that last statement. People don't like uncertainty, and the Tariffs have definitely created uncertainty. That will stabilize and ebb over time. Trump is making a lot of moves in a short period of time. His supporters believe that's in the best long term interest of the country, and the poll results support this.
