I thought we were talking about legal things. If we're going to include anything illegal as well there's no discussion. Anyone can do anything illegally, EFFECTIVELY.

Just because someone can purchase a gun privately doesn't make it legal for them to own it.

You can get the upgraded battery. For me it would never do as a primary vehicle but would be great for commuting and around town.

Lots of lefties on talk shows today crying fascism who in the not very distant past were saying no one is above the law. It's funny how the narrative changes....... -

I would consider one under certain circumstances. I've upgraded the sound system in most vehicles I've owned so not paying for a factory sound system is actually a bonus. I can use that money towards what I really want. The article doesn't say if the vehicle has A/C, and that's a requirement for me at this point in my life. Other than that, I'd check one out possibly, especially a younger version of myself.

Owning Exotic/Endangered Animals or Seeing them in Zoos/Parks

If you look at the link I posted it has a list of the locations. There was one in Folsom. I'm guessing that's the one that was near you.- 13 replies

Owning Exotic/Endangered Animals or Seeing them in Zoos/Parks
Strike replied to TheNewGirl's topic in The Geek Club
I'm not opposed to well run zoos and aquariums, where they create reasonable habitats that are similar to what the animals lived in out in the wild. Many of us have domesticated pets. Would be kind of hypocritical to criticize zoos while imprisoning animals in our own homes. Obviously, I don't feel like my cat is "imprisoned" but it's not like I ever asked her for permission to force her to live here. But there has to be a middle ground between all animals live in the wild and animals living in our homes. And in some cases you have animals that wouldn't survive if released in to the wild so zoos offer them a place to still thrive. What I DO take exception to are places like Seaquest, which fortunately appears to have gone bankrupt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SeaQuest_(aquariums) There was one near me for a number of years (the Littleton CO location) and I read stories about it constantly. I never went but from the get go it was controversial with stories about poor conditions for the animals.- 13 replies

I'm not hoping for the market to go down but it doesn't affect my day to day life and I know it will skyrocket as soon as there's a bit more certainty in things. So overall not worried about it. -
