Because other leagues are profitable. The WNBA wouldn't exist if it hadn't been subsidized by the NBA for the last 15 years. Now that it might make a profit next year they should get a lot of that profit? Then the players should negotiate on the profit number, not the revenue number. And if the WNBA doesn't turn a profit they don't get paid. Or, to be legal, they get minimum wage. Seems fair to me.

The worst thing is how frequently when reading a story about ICE picking up someone with a murder or other significant conviction and the next sentence is "They were released by XXX sanctuary city even though ICE had a detainer on them."
