My point is, there is a lot of change and uncertainty at the FAA, and it's coming from above. You're suggesting the FAA is making these decisions in a vacuum, without any guidance from higher ups outside of the FAA such as Musk and Trump, and I believe you're wrong in this case.

@jerryskids you might want to back off on this one. I don't know much about the contract with Verizon but I do know the FAA's systems are antiquated and in need of updating. I also talk to people in different aspects of aviation due to being in that community quite a bit. I know a couple of air traffic controllers and can tell you that morale and uncertainty in that group is lower than it's been in decades, as a direct result of Trump and Musk. On a personal note, I need FAA approval when I change the doctor I see for my FAA medical clearance. I've had to do that twice. The first time I sent a letter with my request and got an approval letter a couple weeks later. I had to do it again back in November. I got my approval letter last week. Anecdotal I know but I've read about other people seeing significant delays relative to pre Trump days. I have serious concerns about this administration having a significant negative impact on FAA operations.

I hope this is the case. From what I've read, the facts in this case are not cut and dry that she was discriminated against. She may be just not a very good employee that is using the fact that some alphabet people around her did well to mask her deficiencies. But if they can eliminate the obvious allowed reverse discrimination that exists in some of these laws so that in future legitimate cases can move forward without rewarding a slacker, that would be good.

You didn't say percent. You said "non commercial." I'm asking if you think we should remove all non commercial vehicles from the road since we clearly have "too many vehicles driving around now." And I would absolutely remove the driving privileges of a large percentage of the population, but that's because they drive like sh*t. As I said to my neighbor the other day when she asked me what I thought about a couple of these recent aviation incidents, if we enforced driving laws the way the FAA enforces laws related to flying, we'd get rid of 99% of accidents on the road. But it would result in a lot of people losing their drivers license.

No, this incident didn't. ATC gave the pilot of the small plane explicit instructions to hold short of that runway and the pilot IGNORED those instructions. That's why at the end of the transcript I posted he was told of a "possible pilot deviation." He was then given a phone number of the tower to call and, based upon that discussion, the tower will decide whether to move this incident up the chain to the FSDO for further action. Unless you want to lower the number of planes in the sky to ONE, this type of incident will always be possible. But the FAA is not tolerant of pilots who fock up. And air travel is still the safest form of travel in this country. Are you also in favor of banning all non-commercial cars in the country because clearly we have too many cars driving around now.
