A leaked memo has come out showing that just before these fires broke out Karen Bass had told the LAFD to cut $48 million more from it's budget this year. This would have been in addition to the $17.5 million already cut and would have required closing 16 fire stations. I doubt this cut will happen now but WOW. She is a special kind of bad Mayor.
