Sorry Bunny but I'll post about what I want to post about, as I have since day one. I've asked twice now. When CAN we start holding people accountable for creating this crisis?

I don't think it's that. @OldMaid is like a lot of liberals. They keep their head in the sand regarding issues and trust people like Newsom, never critically evaluating his performance. This one is personally very dear to me. I grew up in CA and only left when I saw that it was pretty much a lost cause due to the libs owning the place and implementing worse and worse policies, all while raising taxes through the roof. And the last time there was a fire as significant as this one near @OldMaid, and she may remember this, I was right down the street from her caring for my dying mother who was basically in the last stages of life and essentially in a coma. We were on evacuation watch but moving her was going to be very difficult. Thankfully the home hospice people had a plan in place in case that possibility became reality. Here we are 6 or 7 years later and they still haven't done anything to mitigate the risk and they are woefully less prepared for a major fire than they were then. I find it disgusting. But I guaranfockingtee you @OldMaid voted for both Bass and Newsom last election, and probably Gascon too since there isn't much crime where she lives.

This is pretty hollow considering you've never spoken about this before and you never will again.

Glad you're ok. Now, to this paragraph. As I noted previously. we've brought this issue up before and NOTHING changed. Beyond that, when SHOULD we talk about it? If we bring it up out of the blue you chastise us for only talking politics. But it SHOULD be brought up, especially when you have people acting as incompetently as Newsom and Bass have.

Wrong. Just because one budget went up and one went down doesn't mean they took the money from one to give to the other. I'm sure other departments went up and down too. How much was allocated to useless initiatives like DEI that could have stayed with the fire department. Your focus on the police budget is just a deflection.
