I think you'll be pleasantly surprised...great defensive catcher (Royals combined catcher I believe have the lowest steal% in the league, and Freddy is part of that) and I think you'll see consistent production with him getting ABs everyday (as opposed to KC when he's only in when Salvy isn't catching). Great clubhouse guy and personality as well. His future was just limited in KC with our top two minor prospects being catchers. This should pave the way for Carter Jensen to make his way to the bigs as Salvy's now heir apparent.

I think they are saying world baseball classic interfering with spring training and 250th birthday of America celebrations throughout the year, including ASG in Philthy. But working around world cup also makes sense. Especially in a place like KC with games already scheduled right next door.

I was like, "damn, he didn't even try to get to that." Then at least an inning or two later, Vinnie hits a gaper that bounces over the wall, and right after that they call time to send out an outfielder to replace him. It was weird as fock, and if it contributes to additional time missed I think the fanbase has a reason to be pretty upset.

Which is kind of cool because it's Lugo's first start after signing his new deal. But I can't imagine the weather is going to be very cool this time of year

I think bubic to the IL sealed the deal. They have a lot of injuries to the rotation lately. I heard on the radio today that of royals starters between lugo, ragans, wacha, singer, marsh and after trading for Lorenzen, those six made 157 starts last year. Definitely didn't have that kind of luck this year.
