My son was just asking me about ancestry. So I started looking up descendants from findagrave.com Apparently my great-great-great grandpa Samuel (1837-1913) has info on the site that shows his enlistment with the confederate army. It also showed he was engaged in the siege of vicksburg. I also feel like I can trace additional family lineage, also five generations removed to the confederate army. I'm sure they were fighting for states rights, though.
