Richie James is looking like a stud. CEH getting starting action and was the target on like the first 4 chiefs plays from scrimmage.

This right here is why sports really matter

Maui isn't that big in general. We stayed in Kihei last year, which you'd still venture out to Lahaina to see some things and eat at some places. We went to a luau in Lahaina when we were there

When you and your spouse are ready to visit kc/ Lawrence and watch the Devils for the first time play in historic Allen Fieldhouse let me know and I got you. Same goes for you and Houston @Pimpadeaux (which appears to be happening early 2024, and we should get the schedule within the next month)

I hear ya, but vermeil didn't win football games because he was nice to people. Maybe there is a reason why these guys aren't winning, and need a bit of a different culture.

He makes a good point... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02RKYAP8hnys53brZePPq2SYonJRfWgdp5ADriAcbvWCrJBq4gEoL8y2HWtXjL51rTl&id=100044568393679&mibextid=9R9pXO

I think he did a redux of the entire dark side of the moon album. I'm gussing this is how money ended up.

I think the future of the NCAA basektball tournament is at risk as well. I think if the Big 12 could add UCONN and Gonzaga as basketball only they would, and if they could pull UNC and Duke out of the ACC they would do that as well. You're basically looking at the potential for the Big 12, SEC and Big 10 to secede from the NCAA and start their own basketball tournament. It's sad.

another name for this could have been "to catch a predator, extended version"

it doesn't really matter, football is about to start and other than 2 years of my 45 year existence, that's all I've been accustomed to anyway

His combination of speed and power, where someone has come up with some sort of measurable stat, is putting him on pace to far exceed what Bo Jackson or Carlos Beltran ever did as a Royal.
-
Regardless of how good he ends up being, in some qualities that are difficult to quantify (grit, determination, work ethic, sports iq, etc) is going to be tough for anybody to match 7 championships. And that's something everyone can easily always point to.

It's says in the post nfl video content unavailable but gives you a link to YouTube to watch it.

Looks pretty good but I'm not going to spend two hours on it at this moment. Players at his caliber i'm learning are very divisive. You either love a guy (or gal) that wins at that level and consistency, or you start to despise them. Getting to know them more away from the field I think helps people understand there are some good people behind most of these players. That's kind of what I really liked about the Netflix quarterback series.

I think part of it is also the small market team he plays on. There's a reason it's called flyover country. The media markets on the coasts aren't going to give near as much time to teams or players outside their own market. And the royals, before this win streak were on pace for a historically bad record.
-
You have to admit, that's a pretty amazing feat. You can't just expect a 23 year old to step in and be the best player in the game. But it's still possible for him to end up being the best player in the game at some point in his career.

I had a dream last night that made me think of this thread. I was out of town for business in Chicago, my hotel room was a corner room with glass walls all around and funky azz looking 70s decor for some reason. I heard commotion outside, see an idiot flailing a semi-automatic weapon around, then a police officer using my glass window for cover, pops around the corner and caps the dudes azz and takes him out. I didn't feel like I had anywhere to cover with glass walls against a semi-automatic weapon. And then thought to myself, in my dream "this story is greta for the meanwhile in Chicago thread "
