I like the royals moves... namely extending lugo when the market for starting pitching wasn't that great and what seems to be a reasonable contract. Then you only gave up Freddie Fermin and a couple minor leagues who weren't top prospects for some players with years of team control and improved depth in the rotation and the floor of the outfield. Really a nice job of improving in the short term for a chance to make a wild card run, while smartly investing in the future. I also think the royals really have to get these moves right in the moment because they want taxpayers to partially fund a billion dollar new stadium and entertainment district.
