The OFFICIAL I played against S. Holmes thread

Question - think SH can get comparable numbers week to week? (Not 100 yds each week, but at least 1 TD and ~75+ yds) Or is he a good "trade now" candidate to get some value for? Many of us who have him (specifically on my bench this week - DOH!) drafted him as a late WR2 / WR3 - I think some owners needing a WR may be willing to give up more than they would have on Wed.... Thoughts?

PPR - Choose 2 RBs and 1 TE

If PT sits it out, the consensus is go Bell (per my thread). If not, then I'd go Benson vs DEN. I don't see OAK doing much against SD. Heap vs a very weak KC DEF should produce well. GB has a number of options and Finley may not get the love IMO. Thanks for mine.

Starter help in 8 man league

Manning Moss, Housh, and TO as a nice sleeper since NE will need to worry about Jackson at RB Turner, torn between Benson and Grant - I'd probably go Grant because CHI will likely be playing the pass Carlson vs STL - should have a big game Thanks for mine.

    Flex Starter For Week 1

No dissenting opinion here - agree with the board - go Bell if PT is out. If not, Benson vs DEN. Thanks for mine.
  6. Jackson will the sole recepient of handoffs in BUF this week, but going against NE DEF. Bell gets a sweet matchup against DET, but he's 2nd to Reggie Bush. (Assuming Pierre does not play - if he does, Pierre is the easy pick IMO.) Appreciate it - leave your link.

    Who to start @ Flex?

The problem with Fred is we don't know how much he'll touch the ball - there's Maroney, Morris, Faulk... it's too tough to tell. Hillis has looked like the real deal this preseason (last season as well), but Moreno is the main dude at RB in DEN. If I had to choose, I'd probably go Hillis, since I've owned RBs that have played poorly week 1 after not playing int the preseason. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349542

    Beanie or Hightower

Week 1 or season? Week 1, I'd go Hightower since he's been named the starter, but if you're looking for season long, I'd go Wells. I think he's the better back, plus younger / fresher. If you have another option, stay away from both for week 1. Hightower is starting, but I think we'll see a good dose of Wells also. IMO, this has classic RBBC all over it. And the Cards don't run that much anyway... Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349542

Week 1 Kevin Smith (Det) or Ced Benson (Cin)

And no one's mentioned that Ced is a fumble machine, so stay away. Smith vs a NO DEF is actually a pretty good matchup, and he has Megatron to take some pressure off as well. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349542

leon washington or lendale white at flex?

Agree with Washington - Both C Johnson and White will have some trouble with PIT, esp after the whole terrible towel thing last year. And I also think Washington takes the job from Jones this season. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349542

    RB2 this week

I'd take Barber here by default - expect C Johnson to struggle vs the tough PIT DEF. This is also the week to start Derrick Mason - Flacco is a stud sleeper this season IMO, and against a poor KC def, he should get his numbers. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349542

Anyone use QB as a FLEX option?

Only league I play in that allows QB as a flex - I usually go heavy on RB since I like three RBs playing every week - I don't think it should change when I draft my 2nd QB, but thought I'd inquire if anyone had experience with this type of position...

Anyone use QB as a FLEX option?

Its a new league, and score 5 pts per TD regardless of what position... I can see moving some of the Tier 2 / 3 QBs up since their total points can be higher than a Tier 2 / 3 RB or WR....
  14. 10 team, PPR. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, and one FLEX (R/W/T). A team is looking for a WR or RB to help his team out, so I am considering offering my players P Harvin and John Carlson for Dallas Clark and Donnie Avery. Carlson should have a good year, but is not a top TE (IMO). Based on last night, Harvin seems to be Farve's go-to guy. Clark is a top TE, but Avery is on a CRAPPY team (though he is the #1 WR). Here's my team (starters in bold): QB - Warner, Farve RB - S Jackson, Forte, B Jacobs, Wells, Bradshaw (Jacobs is my flex, but can be any R/W/T) WR - V Jackson, D Bowe, A Gonzalez, P Harvin TE - Carlson K - Folk DEF - MIN I could offer A Gonzalez instead of Harvin, but with the other WRs in my stable, I'm not sure I can risk that. Bowe is on a sorry team and Jackson's on a team with a suspicious O Line.... Thoughts?

    interesting trade offer

Hmmm... with your WR corp, I feel you could do well with it. I wouldn't do this. In fact, I would see if you could parlay one of your WRs (maybe Holmes) into a better RB2. Ward is in RBBC, and you're not going to get the points you need from him. Keep MJD and shop a WR2 or WR3 for another RB2. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

Need Help with Trade - Harvin / Carlson for Avery / Clark

Thanks for the advice. It's just I've owned Carlson in the past, and he was kind of meh. But he has looked good in preseason - all depends on Hass.... A lot of players "did the opposite" so QBs and WRs went early. I think Warner was left alone because of the injury risk, and Bowe because... well, he's in KC. I'm old school RB/RB, so when Jacobs was there in the 3rd, it was a no brainer... The other player's team looks like this: QB: Manning, Schaub WR: Fitz, Avery, Holt RB: Gore, Barber, J Stewart, F Jones, D Brown TE: Clark, Keller K: Bironas DEF: NYG, NE

    Rodgers, KSmith, or SSmith?

Since you already have Gore and McFadden, I'd go Rodgers, then pick a WR. Steve Smith may not be there, but Roddy White, Housh, or Bowe would work IMO. You could follow up with a later RB if you choose as well. Rodgers, Gore, McFadden, White, Bowe... that's a good looking team... Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

    Rate my squad

Other than the Jonathan Stewart pick, I think this was a good draft. Palmer will need to get back to his winning ways, but I think most others are solid. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

    Calvin Johnson & Jeremy Shockey

Agree that we need to see rest of team, but I wouldn't make this trade. Johnson was a stud last year with crappy QBs - at a minimum, he gets similar numbers with Culpepper / Stafford. And I think Schockey's a sleeper this year on the awesome NO offense. Watching the SD first team in preseason, their O-line seems porous - DEFs are getting to LT and Rivers way too quick, which I feel will impact the other SD players. Gates will still be a good TE, but there are questions with him. Also, Colston is on a team where there are a number of OFF weapons, plus he's had a number of surgeries recently, including microfracture. I think you're better off keeping a Top 5 WR in CJ and sleeper in Shockey. Don't think you'll get the return with Colston and Gates. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

Let the games begin! Rate my draft...WHIR

I think this is a pretty good looking team - my guess is you picked 7th? Not too worried about your RBs - S Jax, Parker, Wells should be serviceable. Strong QB and 3 strong WRs, strong TE. Packers DEF is "wait and see" for me - I usually pick them up every year, and this preseason, they've been pouring it on - and Dom Capers is running their DEF now. Assuming they get similar results in the regular season, they should be good. I like the team. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

    RB help

Ugh - no great options here. I'd leave it as is - don't think any of these choices are a real upgrade. Maybe look at a trade with another owner? Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

    Trade Advice

Don't like any of the offers, but you need some RB help. See if he'd go for this: Boldin / L Johnson for Welker / Gore. It's a bit lopsided, but he has some depth in RB... may work... Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348740

    Cuse9's Help Thread

Hey Cuse - thanks for your help on my other FF team - your help on this one? 10 team, PPR. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, and one FLEX (R/W/T). 24. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, no TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF QB: Matt Schaub, Jake Delhomme RB: Gore, C Johnson (TEN), Willie Parker, Julius Jones WR: Jennings, Boldin, DeSean Jackson, Avery, C Henry (CIN) K: Akers, Lindell DEF: PIT, NYJ (Post your link, and I'll return the favor.)

    WR Help

For Week 1, I'd leave your starting WR corp as is. Shiancoe and Williamson showed flashes of talent in the preseason, but we don't know what the regular season will bear yet. I'd certainly keep those two on your bench for now - let's see how everyone does in Week 1. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348609
