    Spencer Ware

Posted this to the Jamaal Charles thread, but putting it here as well... Not sure how viable the source is, but there is this: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4617/jamaal-Charles Speaking on SiriusXM Fantasy, ESPN Chiefs reporter Adam Teicher suggested Jamaal Charles might not play Week 1. "If he plays it won't be a lot," Teicher added. "He certainly won't be the starter." This is the second time this week Teicher has questioned Charles' early-season role, saying Tuesday he still has not established himself as the clear-cut No. 1 back. These comments take the concern even a step further, questioning if Charles will even play Week 1. Always overvalued at the top of the second round, Charles needs to be moved way down draft boards. Spencer Ware is worth a look as early as the sixth round. Sep 1 - 8:27 AM Source: SiriusXM Fantasy

More Bad News For CJ2K Owners

Updated. Updating a previous item, coach Mike Munchak stated Wednesday he'd like Chris Johnson to get 20 carries per game going forward, with Shonn Greene handling 15. It's humorous because Johnson hasn't received 20 carries in any game since Week 2, and his carry totals have declined steadily and precipitously since the beginning of the season. Ultimately, it sounds like the Titans are pushing the idea of a near-even carry split between Johnson and Greene, which bodes poorly for CJ2ypcK's value and positively for Greene's. Johnson's fantasy owners need to hope the Titans continue to increase his passing-game work, because his carries are diminishing and he's not going to get any goal-line chances. At this point, Greene needs to be owned in all 12-team fantasy leagues. Source: Jim Wyatt on Twitter Oct 30 - 8:50 PM

    Doug Martin in multiple leagues

Due to a mix of early draft positions and wifi / autodraft issues, I've ended up with Doug Martin in three leagues as my #1 RB. I believe he'll do great this year but am worried about injury, off weeks, etc impacting all my leagues and thinking abt trading for lynch, spiller, foster. I have solid RB 2s and 3s (forte, bush, cj2k, mjd). I think i have a solid concern here but interested in other opinions - thoughts? Overreacting here?

    Percy Harvin

Agree - I think he's a fantasy long shot this season

steals you got in your draft

I think leveon bell was my biggest steal Took him in the 12th round as a stashed 4th RB about 2 weeks ago - news today says he's targeting a week 2 return now (though likely later) I hope he has at least 1 - 2 solid weeks then trade possibilities for a solid WR

  8. Now that AP is going to get some touches, do I gamble w TRich who's a rookie, w limited preseason, and going against a PHI defense? Projections are flip flopping on who has a better week...

    Gerhart, AP, or Jones-Drew?

Ugh - ugly choices Gerhardt is best bet IMHO - ap and mjd get less touches - my guess http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=406355

    Fight!

Andre Johnson Will Not Be Suspended HOUSTON - FOX 26 Sports has learned Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson will be fined for his actions Sunday involving Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan, but Johnson will not be suspended. It is not known what further punishment will be handed down to Finnegan. Huge news for the Texans because that means their All-Pro receiver will be able to play when Houston takes on the Eagles Thursday night in Philadelphia. Any further disciplinary action for Johnson and Finnegan will stem from their altercation in the fourth quarter of the Texans 20-0 victory at Reliant Stadium. Both players were ejected from the game. Finnegan initiated the fight when he hit Johnson in the facemask seconds after the ball was snapped. Johnson retaliated and both players ripped each other's helmets off. Johnson would land several punches before the referees intervened. Multiple sources told FOX 26 Sports prior to the fight Finnegan looked at the Texans sidelines and said, "watch this." http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nfl/101129-andre-johnson-will-not-be-suspended

    Fight!

Mike Ditka said Johnson should be "applauded" for beating down a "cheap shot" artist on ESPN2's Mike and Mikeshow Monday morning. "Where does it say if a snake bites you, you can't step on a snake?" asked Ditka. Tony Dungy said on NBC's Pro Football Night in America Sunday he used to warn Colts players about keeping their cool when playing Finnegan. NBC's Rodney Harrison said of the Titans, "they're dirty, they're cheap." http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2010/11/courtland-finnegan-villain-fight-andre-johnson-titans/1

    Moreno Out for Week 3

Who picks up the better FF numbers - Buckhalter or Maroney? Buckhalter seems like the right target, but Maroney may have Coach's mindshare...
  17. Feels like you can't trust anyone anymore... http://tinyurl.com/36km7gc Roethlisberger five game suspension report was a hoax According to Mike Wise of the Washington Post, his earlier report of a five game suspension of Ben Roethlisberger was a hoax as part of a bit on his show today, he was trying to show the inaccuracy of reporting in the social media. Unfortunately, he damaged his own credibility by doing so. He may have made his point that sites like this, Profootballtalk.com, and others rely on responsible media outlets and journalists as credible sources but that is what we do, we aggregate the news from some of the very best sports journalists in the country. In our headline we use the following headline: Report: Roethlisberger suspension to be reduced to five games . Many times we do this if we are unsure of the source or accuracy of the report we have read and we somehow had a feeling this one was somewhat shaky. Perhaps next time on his radio show Mr. Wise might want to play "War of the Worlds" just to see what kind of reaction he gets from his listeners.

Apparently incorrect news on Roth suspension

Wanted to provide an update here - looks like this guy's getting dinged for his stupidity... ARTICLE: Washington Post sportswriter suspended for Twitter hoax WASHINGTON (AFP) – A Twitter experiment that went awry has landed a sportswriter for The Washington Post with a one-month suspension. Mike Wise, a respected Post columnist, was suspended by the newspaper on Tuesday, a day after he posted a fake report on his Twitter account. "Roethlisberger will get five games, I'm told," Wise wrote on his Twitter feed, @MikeWiseguy, on Monday in a reference to the length of the suspension handed down to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. In fact, Roethlisberger's penalty for an offseason incident in a Georgia nightclub has not yet been determined. Wise told the Post that he "tweeted" the made-up report as a social media experiment to to see how widely it would spread in the media, a move he said later was a "horrendous mistake." "I'm not a journalism ombudsman," Wise told the Post. "And I found that out in a very painful, hard way. I need to take my medicine and move on, and promise everybody this will never happen again." "I'm paying the price I should for careless, dumb behavior," he said.

    Last year of keeper draft

Wow - great team! Well done. Not crazy about Austin - I'm curious to see if he picks up where he left off last year, esp with the DAL problems of late. I'll also disagree with the others on TE - they have big upside, but questions around them - would be great to see if you could pick up a name TE like Gates, Clark, or Finely. In fact, since you only play 2 RBs, I'd trade Foster now (value is high), and one of your TEs, for a servicable RB3, and a stronger TE. MHO. Thanks for the reply to mine.

    Jerius Norwood

Yahoo reports that Norwood may be the Falcons' starting running back if Michael Turner (ankle) is unable to play Sunday against the Giants, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. But source was not nearly that committal... Checked it out at link: http://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-falcons/...elf-203276.html. Here's the quote: "If Turner is unable to play on Sunday, Jason Snelling and Aaron Stecker will play. They are hopeful that Jerious Norwood, who has missed the last four games with a hip flexor, is ready to return." Interesting article in that Turner hasn't ruled himself out yet... Falcons coach Mike Smith told the New York media in a conference call that Turner would not participate in practice and that he was "day to day." A few weeks back, Smith said Jerious Norwood was "day to day" with a hip injury. Norwood has missed four games. Turner, the Falcons leading rusher who helped power them to an 11-5 mark and the playoffs last season, went down early in the second quarter against the Panthers. He had been averaging 9.1 yards per carry over his last three games. "I've just been doing rehab stuff, basically the stuff that everybody deals with when they have an injury," Turner said. "I just have to keep working at it. But at the same time I have to let it get some rest, too." Turner's ankle was put through several medical tests on Monday. "They didn't tell me anything about the tests," Turner said. "Just an ankle sprain. They didn't say no degrees or weeks or anything like that. It's different for every person. They just tell you what it is and you've got to deal with it." The Falcons also added wide receiver Troy Bergeron back to the practice squad. He was released on Monday to make room for running back Aaron Stecker, who was re-signed to add depth at running back with Turner's injury.

    Ryan vs. Rivers

You know - in the preseason, I had concerns about the SD O line, and those concerns are still there after watching the OAK game... I'll need to give it another week, but I'm worried SD will need to work for every passing and rushing yd with that o line this year. I'd take Ryan vs CAR this week....
