    QB Question

I'm a firm believer in playing your first picks in Week 1 (mainly because I've been burned in the past). We just don't have enough info to play matchups just yet. I'd start McNabb. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348609
  2. If you play multiple leagues, when it comes to certain players, do you ever avoid a player you may have picked in another league in order to give you better odds on return for your entire FF season? I'm in four leagues this year, and have two drafts complete - picked 10th in one, and 8th in the other. In both leagues, Frank Gore and Greg Jennings fell to me, and I ended up taking them both as I thought they were the best value on the board. However, if either / both have an off year, two leagues are in trouble! The thing is, IMO, there are a number of players that fall into the same tier as Gore (Slaton, Jackson, etc) and Jennings (Wayne, R White, etc), and I contemplated others, though I have both Gore and Jennings ranked higher. Got two more drafts this week, and don't know the draft positions yet (30 min before draft) - in case I get a late pick again, I'm planning to avoid both Gore and Jennings to help diversify a bit. Agree with this? Have you encountered this before? Appreciate any insight...

How early are you drafting a QB?

Agree with the last poster - wait. While others are getting Brady, Brees, Manning, you can pick a top WR + strong RB or two strong RBs. And whle others are reaching in the 3rd / 4th, finish up your team's RB / WR corp. I love have 2 strong RBs and 2 strong WRs, then going after a stud TE then QB in the 6th at the earliest. In leagues and years where I've won it all, most of the time I don't have a Tier 1 QB, but I've never won without 1 strong RB / 1 strong RB, 2 strong RBs, or 2 strong WRs. In mocks, I've been able to get QBs like Romo, Schaub, Ryan, Palmer, and Hasselbeck, which are all workable.

    Colston....

I'd agree that he still falls into the 2nd tier of WRs, but I think the issue is health - he had microfracture surgery in the offseason, and couple of other surgeries in the past. Couple that with options for Brees like Moore, Shockey, PT, and Bush - that's why he's lower in the 2nd tier.

    Chargers - O line issues?

Was watching NFL replay last night of ARI vs SD - I've never thought of the ARI def as a strong group, nor have I thought the SD off line to be poor, but during the first team portion of the game, I saw Rivers get sacked 4 times, LT never really make a get past the def, Gates really didn't get involved, etc.... there were a couple of strong bombs, but that was really it. I don't believe ARI has improved that much on DEF this year, so are there OFF line issues with SD this year? Could be just a fluke, but thought I'd throw it out there. (I know this is preseason, but an outing like that is a bit concerning...)

    Rate my team

10 team, non-ppr, start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (WR, RB, or TE), 1 K, and 1 DEF. Bench can be any position. Here are my starters - tell me what you think. QB - Matt Ryan, Matt Hasselbeck RB - Frank Gore, Pierre Thomas, Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis WR - Fitz, Greg Jennings, Santonio Holmes, Kevin Walter TE - Gates, Carlson K - Nick Folk DEF - SD, NYJ Thoughts? Will respond to / rate yours.

    Pick up EDGE?

Agree with Red Hawk - since Edge left IND, he's been a non factor. Don't see that changing in SEA, and I see some sort of RBBC there with JJ. I wouldn't bother, and would look elsewhere since its a FLEX spot. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

Should I trade Portis braylon and shockey for...

I would do this trade - you're fine in WRs, and I'd take CJohnson over Portis, and you're not losing too much in "the dropper" braylon edwards. Assuming you have another TE that can replace Shockey, I'd do this. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    Please rate my draft.

Haven't seen MJD draft this low - good pickup. Surprised CJohnson was there in the third - based on that and your Portis pick, my guess was there was an RB run. Cotchery with Sanchez at QB will be interesting... like Hixon and Rice late. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

Please help me Rate my Team WHIR

Great team! I'm a bit concerned about your FLEX team, so I'd keep an eye on the news for the next week or so and see if you can pop in some sleepers, etc. Other than that, great draft. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

Rate my draft please......4th pick of 12-man league

Not crazy about your TE, but rest of team looks great. High on Cutler this year. And I think the Jets are a sleeper DEF... Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    Rate My Team

Hass has looked good in preseason, but who knows about the reg season. 50/50 starting RBs are solid, and good WR corp. Olsen should have a great year this year - i'm high on CHI this year w Cutler. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

who has drafted and whats your team?

OK - I'll give it a go. I picked 10th in a 10 team non PPR, and we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF. QB - Ryan, Hasselbeck RB - Gore, PThomas, Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis WR - Fitz, Jennings, Holmes, Kevin Walter TE - Gates, Carlson K - Folk DEF - SD and NYJ

    Cuse9's Help Thread

Wow - great analysis! Actually, I drafted 10th out of 10 teams - With Fitz, I took the first WR of the draft, which is why I was thankful Gore was still there! (Your order was exactly right, though. I had to wait on a QB, as well as my DEFs and K.) I'm thinking of dropping J Lewis and handcuffing Gore with Coffee - what do you think? Agree RB is my weak spot. I assume Bush will get hurt again, and Mike Bell will stay Mike Bell, so PT should get the carries... Will need good seasons from both PT and Gore. Thanks for comments - great insight as usual.

Need 2 of 3 Tuff One

I'd go Gore over Jacobs - Jacobs is beast, but he'll get hurt about mid season. Singletary is calling Gore a Top 5 back, plans on running like crazy, and Gore's backup Coffee will likely spell him, but I don't think enough to cut into Gore too much. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076
  17. NICE TRADE! I've seen a few teams with #1 picks trade AP similarly. Agree with the board - you'll need an upgrade on Edwards. Not buying that TO will change the world in BUF. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    Trade Consideration

PPR league? How many WRs do you play a week? I personally wouldn't do it - assuming you play 3 WRs a week, you're already going to outpace your weekly competition at 2 out of three WR spots, and you'll have two studs at RB. I'd turn this down if I were you. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    Rate my team...Draft just ended...

Agree it's weak at QB - but both are of the "wait and see" variety - I wouldnt call Hass the auto starter - play the matchups. RBs - MJD and Jackson - sweet. Jackson's a stud, but will be the ENTIRE STL offense so could be injury prone. MJD - should be a rock, but who knows. First year w/out Taylor and no other real offensive threat on JAX. Smith has a rook QB which is always dangerous but Calvin's out there too, so Kevin will be solid. Shame he'll ride your bench. TB has RBBC right now with Ward, Caddy, and Graham - Ward has looked the best this preseason. Strong WR corp - CJ and Bowe will get numbers. Williams and Branch - meh - but fine for bench. Miller is the best receiver in OAK, but OAK is a mess... Why not make Kevin SMith your flex instead of Benson? I think he'll do better. Great DEF's - TEN still has a lot of strong players even w/out Haynesworth, and GB will get a buttload of INTs this year IMHO. Strong team! http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    Please rate my draft.

What happened at this draft? MJD 5th? Calvin Johnson in 3rd round? This is a GREAT team - the other owners got hosed. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    Deangelo Williams or Steven Jackson

Between DWill and Jackson, I'd go DWill - he's got a better team (slightly), some pressure relief with Steve Smith out there, decent QB. Jackson IS the STL offense. Toss up with DWill and Brees - depends on who you have at QB, but I'd still stick with DWill personally. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

Trade HELP - Megatron for Witten and Bryant

Agree - not worth it - in fact, I'd look into upgrading your RBs if you let go of Calvin. Something like Calvin + Miller for Witten + Tier 1/2 RB http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

Rate me - Rate me my Friend

(You forgot to include WR in your starters.) Williams is a great pick - he'll do well this year, as will Ronnie Brown. Portis will do well as well, but WAS has said we'll see more Betts. Could be a good thing for Portis though. Like Choice and Jones, but not crazy they're on the same team. Barber will likely get hurt at some point, so one or both will benefit. Strong WR corp - Boldin's a stud, but need to see how Warner's hip works out. He'll suffer if Leinart gets in. Moss is steady, and should get his, but looks like their offense will be weak. AGonz should be the new Marvin, so he should do well with double teams on Wayne. CHenry looks good in preseason - if the Bengals / Palmer stay healthy, he could have a good year with double teams going to OchoCinco. Worried at QB - both are question marks regarding health. DEF - Redskins have Haynesworth, but the DEF will be on the field a lot this year. I think Dallas is overrated, but workable. Kickers - no worries - swap out as needed http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076

    a little trade help please

I'd pick up marshall in a keeper league for sure. But i have my doubts on if you can get him with lynch, greene, or wells. if you can make it happen, go for it. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348076
