I like some of the guys on the original list and dont like others.
As far as Troy Williamson, I think he is a great value pick considering you can probably get him very late. I just got him this past weekend in the final round of a 16 round draft. If he flops again, no big deal to me. But I do want to point out the he has NOT had any type of eye surgery. Many are under the same misconception. He had his eyes evaluated and was taught eye coordination exercises, but no surgery was performed.

The best things in fantasy football...To crush your enemies.
To see them driven before you.
And to hear the lamentation of the women.
Conan the Barbarian.
Great flick.

I like them. Not to flashy....noting boring.Keep the same styling, but go back to the powder blue.

I'm in a league that give WRs 1 pt per reception, and RBs get 0.2 pts per reception and 0.1 pts per carry. That way guys like Rudi J aren't totally left behind by the ppr RBs, and WRs get some boost compared to the RBs.
Jokers, what sight are you using that will allow that? I ask because I'm interested in doing something similar and most sites seem to lump PPR for RBs and WRs together. Thanks.

I have a newer league that I am in, that we just started last year.
The lineup consists of
1 QB
2 RB
2WR
1 flex of QB/RB/WR
TE
K
D
It gives a little more flexability as not definitley having to start 2 QBs, but its a nice option when your team permits.
I think this argument comes down to what your goal is in fantasy football. Fore some, it is to try to emulate the NFL. Obviously a 1 QB system is best for this group. Others seem to prefer strategy over realism. I agree with this thread in that, for these strategists, a 2 QB system is probably better.
I tend to fall into the latter group, though I dont fault the purists. I really like Henry's system here. What strikes me about it is that it seems like you could go about constructing your team using many different strategies and still have a chance to win.
Most mock drafts assume a standard 1 QB system, and that's why most mock drafts come out very very similar. I'd be willing to bet that a mock draft for this flex QB system would have many different outcomes, which I like. It might even be interesting to test this out. I'd be willing to give it a try (a mock draft, that is) if others are. If there is any interest, lets give it a go!

SD should be in there around 3 or 4.

I'm pretty sure Chicago expected Benson to beat out T. Jones. All I'm saying is you just never know how these things will shake out.

Nobody who has a negative opinion of him as a workhorse has ever watched him play.
really has no hands or any other skills other than running over defenders
Show me where I used the word nobody.
Did you read the article carefully. It clearly points out that it was the Giants staff that encouraged Jacobs to run over defenders. Then Jacobs states "I can't play 16 games and play the same way I've been playing, but I can easily go back to making people miss." It's not Jacobs natural style to bowl over defenders. He really can make people miss. That's what makes him so exceptional. He's a freak in that he has the speed and quickness of a much smaller RB.
-
There really seem to be alot of Jacobs haters out there. Even worse then that, however, is that many of the people hating on Jacobs don't seem like they really know much about him. Its like they read a few posts on here about him and then make up their minds without having really watched him play. Everything the giants have said indicates that they feel that he is their starting feature back.

Sounds logical. But they may be using the same thinking as you, but rather then QB, they think they can get their RB next year.

Cleveland can still draft the hometown hero in the 3rd or 4th round. His name is Troy Smith.
-
Durtee,
I wasn't trying to make the point that Troy Smith will be good BECAUSE he is fast or BECAUSE he has a strong arm. I was simply trying to state that to question THOSE things about him is foolish. It makes me wonder what people are thinking when they question things that are very obvious. And I know that it was not you that questioned those things.
What I think will make Troy Smith a steal for a team that gets him in a later round is his drive to win and get better. I've never seen a QB make the strides that he made at Ohio State as a starter. In fact, I didnt like Smith at the beginning. I am from Massillon, Ohio and was rooting for Zwick to make it big (he's a hometown boy). I saw Smith as a run first QB who was selfish. He morphed from that into a primarily pocket passer who would do whatever was asked of him to win games. He has alot of heart and is very coachable. Many people talk about the "intangibles" with QBs in conjunction with physical skills. The point I was trying to make earlier is that he does have the physical skills (regardless of his height.) Now I guess I am trying to show that I think he has the intangibles to go with those skills. Thats why I think he could be a steal.
As for Russell's arm - yeah, I do think his is one of the strongest the NFL has seen. I'm not gonna say THE strongest. But one of them - sure.
And am I somewhat clouded by being a homer? Probably. I can admit it.
-
No, Jamarcus Russell has a very strong arm. Troy Smith has a decent arm. I'm not sold on his speed either. He ran 4.6's in his workouts, which is pretty good for a QB, but I think his speed is still over hyped because he played in the very slow Big Ten. Same goes for fellow buckeye Ted Ginn Jr. But if put in the right situation maybe they will have the competitive drive to make up for their physical inabilities and put together decent NFL careers.
No, Jamarcus Russell has perhaps one of the strongest arms the NFL has ever seen. That still doesnt mean that Troy Smith doesnt have a very strong arm. As for his speed, your point is the same as mine. He's fast for a QB. I can only think of a handfull of starting QBs in the NFL who might be faster.
-
Troy goes maybe in round 5 ! Seriously teams have no real intrest in this guy anymore ! 5'10 , average arm , not great at reading defenses , makes average to poor decisions , averge speed.
Troy = poor mans Doug Flutie !
Average arm?
Average speed?
Have you really watched him play? He has a very strong arm. And he's faster then the majority of starting QBs in the NFL. The reading of defenses and decision making I cant comment on in terms of NFL defenses. I think he'll go in the 3rd or 4th and be a steal.
-
I never said I expected 32 TDs from Leinart. I was simply commenting on the post where the guy said that 200 yds and 2 TDs per game is a backup QB in fantasy football.
-
translation: a fantasy back-up
3200 yds and 32 TDs is a backup?

Quinn's hometown will have no effect whatsoever on whether the Browns take him. What will have an effect is the conversations that Charlie Weiss is probably having with Crennell and Savage.
-
hows this? Chaser provided. Broncos Cheerleader
Aww, yes! That leaves a much better taste in my mouth.
-
Anyone got a chaser? I just threw up in my mouth.

Check out a book called False Start: How the New Browns Were Set Up to Fail by Terry Pluto. It discusses the disadvantages the Browns were given as an expansion team.
Again, I do not use this as the only reason the Browns have been so bad. As I stated earlier, the Browns themselves have made horrible decisions that have not allowed them to achieve success. Hopefully they are on the right track now. I long for the days when the Steelers and Brown had what I would consider a true rivalry.
-
I would have to find a link somewhere, but the rules were very, very different.
-
One of the reasons the Browns are so bad is because the NFL wanted them to be. Take a close look at the rules that were in place for the Browns when they were an expansion team. The NFL knew they were way too lenient in terms of expansion when both Carolina and Jacksonville were immediately successful. They did a complete 180 and made sure the Browns would have it tough. They backed off somewhat when the Texans came into the league.
Now, I cant say this entirely accounts for the Browns record since expansion. The club itself has made some terrible decisions. They've also had some horrible luck in terms of injuries, but that is only a very small excuse.
As others have pointed out, there have been other teams that people used to say would never be good, but then they turn it around. The Bengals were really bad for a long time. San Diego was considered to be so bad that Eli refused to go there.
It remains to be seen wether the Browns can turn things around, but I think they have some good people in place now making the decisions. Hopefully it is just a matter of time.

Do we really know that White was/is 260 lbs? From what I've read, someone just said "he looked like he was about 260 lbs."
Not trying to defend White, just trying to get the facts straight.

IF Turner gets traded, I dont think it will be until draft day. If a player that SD covets falls to a position were they can make a trade involving Turner, then they may make a move, otherwise I dont think he will be traded.
