    Fitzpatrick

Thinking the boy has Larry Fitzgerald and FitzMagic confused. Which does a terrible (but, perhaps, historically warranted) disservice to Carson Palmer. Either that or he's at the bar getting beer & olive juice all over his MacBook Air.

    Reggie Bush

https://twitter.com/ttwentyman/status/408637573683503104 Feeling better with my Shane Vereen stash now. I was worried about a possible muddy track in Philly anyway. Thinking J. Bell owners have to be pretty pleased with this news. Think we have to monitor and see if he practices in full tomorrow. If not, I think i'm sitting him. Can't have him start or go for a few carries and then sit out most of the game if he can't make a real go of it. Sucks.. but that's what decent bench alternatives are for. My cupboard is bare at WR.. so personally hoping this is the last curveball for the week for me.

    Josh Gordon risky play?

Finally, just noticed this. Go War Eagle Go! Get those cobwebs cleared out buddy.. We need a little pitch and catch this weekend up in Foxboro.

    Josh Gordon risky play?

Being that I face a team with Brady/Gronk.. i'd be more than fine with a semi-dud from Gordon, provided that the game overall.. is a low scoring, grindfest.. dud all-around for FF. Here here.

    Josh Gordon risky play?

He's in for me.. I don't even have a 4th WR at the moment on the team where I have him (see sig below.. I made a bad choice and cut Crabtree instead of Harvin). Anyway.. i'm not hooking him for a Streater, Cordarelle P type streamer for a 1st round playoff game. Hoping Campbell gets cleared to practice over the next day or two.. but as someone posted before.. He's been my super WR3 all season.. I just need a WR3 floor at least to keep my roll on (knock on wood). Anything on top of that in Week 14 would be gravy. Not that it's exactly an apples-to-apples comparison at all.. but i'd be curious to know what Marshall's numbers were luck when Caleb Hanie had his mistake filled run with the Bears a few seasons ago. Josh nearly always hauls in a couple of deep passes to get him respectable yardage.. and the Brownies shouldhave to throw all 2nd half to try to catch up.. The hope would be, for all Gordon owners.. that they aren't simply overwhelmed by a charged up Pats D who smell blood in the water. NE's been far from a shutdown pass D of late.. Just hope a Hanie/Tanney lead team isn't completely pathetic.. or even better.. Campbell gets cleared to play soon.

    Fitzpatrick

Fwiw, i'm rolling with Fitzpatrick this week.. weird feeling in a 1st round playoff game.. but i'm right "on plan". This is the playoff week I had him pegged for if Cutler (whom i scooped up a few weeks ago off the ww) couldn't go. I drafted Luck and Eli.. and as my team got better and more solid through a few trades.. I have rationalized that I mainly need a "high floor".. For my QB to get me around 20 and to get out of the way. His cushy schedule and sneaky running ability have made him very consistent.. even when he started giving the ball away last week. He actually scores the way Luck usually scores, adding rushing yards and putting a few in on the ground himself on occasion.. and his team and weapons are better for the most part (despite the current actual NFL standings) currently, than Indy's. I may go back to Luck v. HOU next week if I get through and use Cutler (presumably after he at least gets a Week 15 start) in Week 16 if I make it that far. Plan was to ride my solid team and stream QBs that shouldn't lose it for me based on matchups and it's worked leading up to the postseason.. Just need it to work for 3 more weeks.

Starting Bush AND Bell this weekend in semis

If the temperature dips enough and there are flurries/snowy conditions, it would makethe Linc field a hard track.. not a muddy one. I'm rolling with Reggie regardless, but am rooting for cold in the Mid Atlantic states this weekend.

    Ring Of Honor For W.Sapp

Freeman McNeil was actually a pretty good tailback. All the other picks were mostly disasters.. though Ken O'Brien got them to the playoffs. Dan Marino would have obviously been a wiser investment. Good stuff.
  9. Indoor Lance Moore.. God help me. (I now have about 9 players going in this TB-NO game)

Which Studs are on the Bench

Looking like Rodgers & Roddy will sit for a big semis game. Not the way I drew it up
  11. CookieG

    Faith in Rodgers

I currently have Rodgers sitting in favor of Freeman. I just see both his floor and ceiling being higher and the flow of the TB-NO game being much much more high scoring (duh, O/U 10-13 pts higher or more). I just don't know what to make of Rodgers or the GB/CHI game.. in any respect. The Texans pass D is their vulnerability.. but i'd think they can control some serious clock at home v. Indy. I'd prob go with Rodgers if I were you. The fact that Freeman's matchup is SO nice on paper (along with AR's recent struggles), is the main reason for popping him in there. I'd be more hesitant as you move down the weekly ranking sheet.
  12. I'm the #1 seed in my new 12 teamer. Been the steady, deep, lucky SOS guy all season.. and my "biggest fear", if you will.. is that the guy who is right with me in total points.. but had some bad SOS luck, snuck into the playoffs and is rolling. We have one of those semis matchups that really look like a final. My team is in my signature. Hes got: Brady, AP, S. Greene, Marshall, Cruz, Hernandez and it looks like he's going with Witten as his Flex. All that I listed above.. with the exception possibly Witten (and perhaps surprisingly including Shonne focking Greene) make me nervous. Of course I have Brady and Marshall on my other team.. So I guess Peterson, Cruz and Hernandez scare me with no coflict there.

Playoffs? List your High Risk High Rewards Players

Interesting stuff. Thanks for the insight. Just, in a vacuum.. for this Week 15 consideration. there are just to many things I don't love about the matchup. I won't get into them here.. and turn this into a whole WSIS? discussion. He's not even the guy "that brung me". I rode RG3 for about half the reg. season. I just see Freeman's ceiling to being about the same.. and his floor, versus the Saints in a Superdome track meet, to be much higher. I also consider a good RB.. who catches passes and extends drives, to be an asset, rather than a liability. Maybe i''ve decided.. I just have to actually pull the plug on AR this week. In a nasty semis game. Maybe they'll both do well and i'll rock it either way.

Maybe Josh Freeman.. if I defy my instincts.. and play blue chip Aaron Rodgers anyway. (still 50-50 on this). Lance Moore (but prob rolling with Darren Sproles in my Flex instead) TY Hilton. He seems to come on every other week or so.. and score in bunches. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him put up a long TD.. while Roddy or Welker do less than they're projected to do. I feel good about the way Steve Smith with Cam is coming on though.

    Cincinnati Bengals at Philadelphia Eagles

My situation exactly.. and I was pretty psyched until a few minutes ago. Bryce Clown now hurting more than his owners.. how quickly the worm turns in the masochistic geek drama of FF. And the quality of play on both sides, makes an Army-Navy game in a blinding snowstorm, scintillating by comparison. It's like they haven't had enough practice or something.

What do you need for MNF?

    track meet baby.. cmon!!

What do you need for MNF?

Just don't press the BIG RED BUTTON airman Stimpy. Hoping Brady will pull this Seahawks uniform out of my backside.. My Lynch, Martin, Marshall combo wasn't enough to do most of the job for me. Break a leg everybody.. err.. all the best tonight.. May all your dreams be in the RZ TD montage..
  20. CookieG

What do you need for MNF?

In my deep league semis.. I need Brady to put up 29 pts.. which in this fairly high scoring league, amounts to an average game for him. Something like 240 + 2 passing TDs of, say (23, 5) will get it done. Yet, I remain very nervous I fear windy conditions a bit.. and JJ Watt more. Hoping for a fairly high scoring affair.. and for NE to throw for most of their scores. I'll cringe on any special team scores, Ridley touches inside.. and any time Tommy Boy gets shellacked by the Texans pass rush.

    Fock You Thread...Playoff edition

I'll throw the entire Arizona Cards organization onto the pile. How you can't have one NFL caliber QB since good 'ol Kurt retired id beyond me.. oh and that Patrick Peterson fella spit the bit pretty pathetically. I now need Brady to have a versus Colts kind've effort.. or i'm toast.. and I have Lynch, Martin and Marshall. Good times.

    Hawks defensive td?

You'll get it.. no yardage distance bonus (if you're league has one).. it's been scored as a ) yd DTD. I'm facing the SEA DST.. on life support with only Brady going on MNF.. and i'm counting on needing 6 more points on top of what I see now.

    Snowstorm for Lions/Packers on SNF

To this effect i'm strongly considering using Pettigrew this week in place of Gresham. I just see a lot of short passing attempts for both teams.. and more ground attack as well.
  24. CookieG

    Week 14 ANSWERS start/sit

Good points. I will mull my options. Gresham's hamstring boo boo may swing me to Pettigrew. Still on the fence about the Smith v. Gordon start. Team i'm playing is quite good.. I just feel more comfortable with some bigger upside with Gordon. I need to be objective though.. particularly in the face of Smith crapping the bed, in nearly every game after he's done well. It has me biased against him for sure. Smitty also did jack v. very beatable secondaries in TB & PHI.. though his targets never seem to fall below 7 all year. It's my tough call this week for sure. Thanks for the effort bro.

    Steve Smith or T.Y. Hilton

FWIW, i'm probably sitting Smith for Gordon today. Smith could do well.. but his history v ATL isn't great.. and I think his upside is limited. I think i'd play Hilton here. He's been hot.. and steady at that. Smith hasn't been a great start for most of the year. I'm not letting his TD and hail mary catch v. KC sway me in my case.
