    Options on the wire

So I was getting caught up on the news (slow day at work) and checking out my league's WW and noticed some options out there. My Team: QB - Kevin Kolb, Derek Anderson WR - Greg Jennings, Roddy White, Steven Breaston, Bernard Berrian, Johnny Knox RB - Ray Rice, Jonathon Stewart, Justin Forsett, Laurence Maroney, Correll Buckhalter K - Robbie Gould, Def - NYG, IDP - James Laurenitis My 14 team league starts QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, WR/TE, K, Def, 1 IDP - standard scoring Now I was way too late to grab Brandon Jackson or Micheal Vick, but I did notice some guys that could be nice adds. WRs - Devery Henderson, Mario Manningham, Jabar Gaffney, Mike Thomas (Jac), Jason Avant, Mike Williams (Sea), Danny Amendola, Dexter McCluster and some names I don't recognize but see decent stats for - Jordan Shipley Cin, Micheal Spurlock TB, Brandon Tate NE, Steve Johnson Buf RBs - Fred Taylor, Kevin Faulk, Peyton Hillis, Javon Ringer, Stephens-Howling, Bernard Scott Some low end TE's that I normally wouldn't consider, but apparently looked good on Sunday - Evan Moore, Todd Heap, Anthony Fasano, Tony Scheffler QB is picked too clean to bother, I try not to focus on kickers because they can high one week and low the next, but - Jeff Reed, John Kasay, Matt Bryant, and Jay Feely are available Def I'm not overly concerned about, and because we start only 1 IDP that's best left for another thread. I figure since the trade Maroney and Buckhalter are fighting for that #2 spot. I consider both backs roughly equal, so I'm not sure if either will get enough work behind Moreno to be worthwhile. I was thinking of dropping both backs for Taylor and... Hillis? Henderson? Faulk? These are likely to be bench riders, but what's my best move here?

    Which 3 RB's to start?

That's a nice problem to have man, I can't see a bad combo there. Personally I'd go AP, Foster and PT, just because I think CHI is going to be behind most of the game and focus on passing.
  3. So I hate to do it, but out of 3 years in my In-Laws league this is the second I’ve had to draft by proxy. I was especially nervous because I knew I’d be out of cell service on my float trip so I wouldn’t have any way to check up on her during the actual draft. However, when I actually got home and got to see my team I was pretty excited. I don’t know the exact order she picked the players in, but she told me it was from the 11th spot. 14 team league, standard scoring except 6pts for a passing TD. We start QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, Flex, K, Def. 1.Michael Turner 2.Andre Johnson 3.Eli Manning 4.Jonathan Stewart 5.Dwayne Bowe 6.Arian Foster 7.Dez Bryant 8.Austin Collie 9.Devin Hester 10.Chester Taylor 11.San Diego 12.Jeff Reed 13.Mario Manningham 14.Donovan McNabb I still don’t know if that’s the order she picked them in, or if that’s just how my commish entered them. I keep looking for a flaw, but I honestly can’t find a player I’d rather have. Good thing too, because every WW transaction costs an extra $3 in this league. So what do you guys think, do I owe her a nice gift when I collect my winnings?

What do you think of this team?

I think you made the right choice. When there's a run at position I always spend that time looking for quality players at other positions. I'm pinning my hopes on Kolb this year too, so I'd love to see him turn into a star QB as well. As for Sanchez, I would probably switch to Campbell. That's really a 6 of one, half a dozen of the other pickup though, if you wind up depending on either of those guys (for more than a bye week) it's time to think about a trade.

Scratch this topic, I'm unable to make any changes at this point.

    WR choice whir

Who's my best choice? Leave link.
  7. celloshane

    Chris Johnson or Cedric Benson?

Chris Johnson @ Pit or Benson vs Den? I know I'm overthinking this, and I drafted Johnson to be my starter so I should start him. The only thing that has me nervous is ESPN is projecting Johnson at 7pts and they're giving Benson 15. They've also got Mike Bell at 15, which seems crazy. I've also got the following clusterf of receivers behind Dwayne Bowe, and I need 2: Santonio Holmes Santana Moss Lance Moore Josh Morgan Domenik Hixon leave a link

    WR help

Coles and Holt. I'm giving Harvin 2-3 games to hit his stride. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349765

    Trade Help

This trade will improve your WRs slightly, but will downgrade you at RB. Ronnie Brown is likely to have an excellent year ahead, but not as good as Slaton who's likely to finish +200yds and +1-2 TDs.

Mike Bell ....who to bench for him this week

I think you can safely sit Coles, he looks to be more of a possession receiver for Palmer. Bell looks possible for 1-2 scores and a crapton of garbarge yards. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349765
  12. celloshane

    Which D...WHIR

Tough call, but I think you can go with GB. Cutler might suprise and torch them, but he should throw a couple picks and take some sacks in the process. Whereas tonights game may not be rocket-tag, but if your leagues like mine you get nothing if TEN scores 14. Collins won't get picked or sacked much, so there's not much upside to PIT.
  13. celloshane

    Schaub or Hass

Schaub, he's throwing to some of the best receivers in the league. I expect the Sea @ Rams game to be fairly lackluster with a lot of RB action.
  14. 14 teams Keep 2 league, standard scoring. I drafted from the #11 slot. Traded my 3rd round pick for Slaton, and kept T. Jones as my other. Since I kept two RB's I was not eligible to take a RB in the first round. 1. (11) Steve Slaton 2. (18) Thomas Jones 3. (39) Greg Jennings 4. (46) Steve Smith 5. (67) --empty-- 6. (74) Lance Moore 7. (95) Ray Rice 8. (102) Eli Manning 9. (123) New York 10. (130) Jon Beason 11. (151) LeSean McCoy 12. (158) Chris Chambers 13. (179) Brian Robiskie 14. (186) Mark Clayton 15. (207) Kris Brown We start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR/TE, K, DEF, IDP so I have the following (Starters bolded) QB Eli Manning Brady Quinn (waivers) RB Steve Slaton Thomas Jones Ray Rice LeSean McCoy WR Greg Jennings Steve Smith (CAR) Lance Moore Chris Chambers Mark Clayton Brian Robiskie K Kris Brown DEF New York Jets IDP Jon Beason I'm considering dropping Robiskie for Glenn Coffee or James Davis (it is a keeper league). Thoughts?

    My Team

I'd stay away from Marshall for the time being, he's in way too much trouble in Denver. You're right about Crabtree, but I'd hang on to him until we see something definative that he's not gonna sign. I'm not overly concerned about your QB situation, but Vick isn't gonna be the starter there unless McNabb gets hurt. Your RB depth is spectacular. Just did my Draft...I'll rate yours I promise

Starting two QBs I'd rather have more depth than just Flacco. You're plenty good at WR and RB though. I think you'll wind up dropping Fasano for a kicker. Overall I don't think you'll be blowing your opponents out of the water every week, but you're definately someone I'd be concerned about playing. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269

    rate this team

Looks like you traded your 3rd round for Slaton or Moss? Hell of a good value, I like your team plenty and I think you'll do well this year. You're a little weak at RB, Bush is being edged out by Thomas and McFadden has plenty of talent but is limited with a team as bad as Oakland. Ward will be quality backup though and if Parker or T. Jones goes down you're set. Romo isn't my favorite either, but Farve could be better than last year in MN. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269

Worst I've felt after a draft

I think you're just fine with that team. I don't recommend drafting backup kickers or tight ends, so I would have used those picks to take some low end-high upside WRs, but you should be fine overall. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269

Another Rate my team - 12 team PPR

Looks like a beast of a team for ppr. Cutler could do great things in Chicago, and you've got RB's coming out your ears. I think Harvin will have a nice rapport with Farve by week 6. You are definately light at WR if he doesn't produce though, so keep a eye on the wire for up and coming receivers. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269

    draft question

Tough call, but I think I'd take SJax. His O-line is much improved this year, and Spags has declared a run first philosophy. Just make sure you get good depth, because injury is a concern with any of those guys. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269
  21. celloshane

Rate me & I'll rate ya back.......

I think you're sitting pretty. There's not much to worry about with Schaub yet this year, he's healthy, his O-line is solid, and Slaton will help keep pressure off. You've got good depth at RB and WR, so you should be fine. There's a chance you've got a better backup QB on the wire, but it's early yet so you can probably afford to take a wait and see attitude. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269

Take Manning with first pick in 3rd?

Personally I'd rather take one of those WR's. Sure Manning is Mr. Consistant, but if you take two QBs like Ryan and Schaub in the following rounds you can play whoever has the hot matchup and come out just as well if not better. However, the projections of points for the year favor Manning as long as you can get a WR from the next tier in the following round. So if you think you can get a Williams, Cotchery, or Boldin at 4.10 then you should go ahead and take Manning. In otherwords, if you take Manning you'd better hope there's not a run on WRs afterwards. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269
  23. celloshane

I never thought this would happen!

Looks like a contender to me! I think you've got great RB depth and between McNabb and Schaub you aren't going to miss any of those early quarterbacks. Please see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=348269

First timer in a Fresh Keeper League.

As a four year vet of a keeper league, the best advice I can give you is treat this like a tradition draft for the early rounds. You'll probably want the best RB available with your first pick (I'd target D. Williams), unless you wanna shake it up and take Fitz. In the mid rounds look at undervalued players with potential to breakout, like Ray Rice, McFadden, Evans, Hixon, and Henry. In the later rounds, look at rookies with talent and a good position like Earl Bennet and Mark Sanchez.

    Rate team please -

Ok so... you've got Manning, MJD, SJax, and Megatron in your starting lineup. Are you sure this wasn't a 4 team draft? Who's left to threaten you, the guy who got ADP, LT, Fitz and Brady?
