I would think the passing game would get him less involved? Especially with spread formation (Heath lining up in slot). Swelling in the knee is a concern too.

I wouldn't draft LJ if he slipped down to me at those spots. You can lose your league if he holds out as long as I think he will (Week 10). Much rather be safe. Agree with the Ace ranks.

I still cant believe some of you guys took alexander after reading this article last year. For sure wont touch LJ this season. I'm a bit curious on the brief mention on Ahman Green and Deuce and what kind of effect it will have on their seasons this year. Both seemed to perform decent for #2 RB's, especially in a PPR league.

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10268502 "Chiefs players are now telling each other that, after nearly two full years away from football to nurse a spinal injury, the 33-year-old Holmes has been given medical clearance to play and he is planning to participate in this summer's training camp". If LJ holds out, and Priest regains his form, where do you draft this guy?

I think its worth the risk if TO, Wayne, Fitz, etc is available in the 3rd. By going rb wr wr rb rb, its a good chance one of the 4th or 5th round rbs would pan out. Plus its PPR, and Wr's are worth more.

I've heard really good things about Tony Ugoh from Arkansas but for a rookie to fill in that LT position is gotta be a bit shaky. I expect Manning to throw the ball away a bit more and struggle against tough defenses. This one hurts Addai (asked to be blocking more).
-
Ya its tough but I think in a PPR league you can play it right. Go RB, WR, WR, RB. Especially if they guys pickin behind u went RB RB in the first 2 rounds.

QB: Peyton Manning (Colts) RB: Reggie Bush (Saints) RB: Ladanian Tomlinson (Chargers) WR: Terrell Owens (Cowboys) WR: Randy Moss (Patriots) TE: Todd Heap (Ravens) K: Akers(Eagles) Defense: Denver Broncos Akers: no power running game. Peyton: duh. Bush: Playmaker on the NFC. LT: If Chargers make it, its his show. TO: TD machine. Moss: Will want the ball in the big game. Heap: Outside of Gates, best TE to have a chance to make it to the super bowl. Defense: Very improved on that side of the ball.

I totally agree with this reply. I have the 8th pick in a ppr league and its not that bad. Come around the 2nd round and get Smith or Chad for your WR. The 3rd pick puts pressure on those guys mentioned to produce at that level.

OMG, lot of Bush haters. Remember he was a ROOKIE last year. It took him awhile to adjust to the running game. This was evident by his 2nd half performance where he stepped up his performance. In redraft PPR leagues I definitely think he will do just as well as he did last year. The Saints O line is solid, good QB for years, great coach and an up and coming receiver. They might be the colts of the AFC with their young WR's. I would consider Bush for sure at that spot. However, I think Addai will play just as good and can be a safer bet. However, Addai can only perform at a ceiling height via Edge in his hay day. Bush's ceiling is more like LT status.

I'm talking about playing in COMPETITIVE leagues where every owner is knowledgeable. Just wanted everyone's two cents. I'm thinking about playing in three tough ones.

You were not clear if this is PPR (which is huge in draft strategy). If PPR: Reggie Bush or Westbrook are the best bets. Non PPR: Maroney (he is the man with no threat behind him) or Ronnie Brown (see Cam Camerons history of giving backs the ball). FWP has new coach that will utilize the passing game more than Cowher/Grimm/Whiz. Also Faneca holding out potential. Plus Barlow brought in for goal line/short yardage.

anyone have any idea on qbs who have hurt their acl's and their timetable to return to play?

In PPR - WR's are da KING ! - ( standard PPR )

I've been playing in a PPR league for the past 6 years and I agree with the earlier post to an extent. I feel going RB-WR-WR or WR-RB-WR is a better way to go about that route, this way you are always starting one stud RB (a scarce position) but also two top 15 WR's (a position that dominates PPR). -
Footballguys.com vs. FFtoday.com The latter definitely has the edge in forums/advice/articles but I'm wondering if anyone has used Football guys Draft Dominator before and how it compares vs ff todays draft buddy.

Finally, DD has some other features – "such as using strength of schedule for NFL teams" WAIT, I thought DB also uses SOS for NFL teams?
-
Thanks guys. I got the free version of Draft dominator last year. You pay for the updates if you want but I decided not to. Where it affected me most was the use of ADP. By having the initial version of it, even with my edits, the ADP affects what the program advises you when drafting. I liked DD but I wouldn't pay for it. However, compiler/db looks cheaper and is tempting for myself to purchase.

15 yds rec/rush per point 1 reception per point 40 yds pass per point 6 points for all TDs I have the fifth pick in my draft and I'm looking at Lamont. I feel Tiki is worth the 4th and will be gone. Any opinions on this one?

Nice I ended takin SJax too. So awesome.

Perhaps a release is coming for Daunte. Guess who needs a QB? Guess who can make Randy wanna play for Oakland? Yep I'm talking about C-Pep. Totally could see after the Trent Green trade, Daunte being released.

I'd personally rather take a flyer on Carr and not invest a $30 mill signing bonus on JR or Quinn. CJ on the other hand is worth the signing bonus.
-
David Carr a Raider. From the area, grew up a fan, Tom Cable shuffles the o-line, starts Newberry, trades Moss for a 2nd rounder, draft Calvin Johnson, Jordan-Rhodes combo. I really can see this happening. Al rarely drafts a 1st round QB (only once with Marinovich).

and the Oakland Raiders select...

Russel has just as much chance as a franchise qb as drew stanton or brady quinn. No WR can be like CJ. -

I couldn't disagree with some of the above posted anymore. JR is not a safe pick by any means, regardless of need. I a die hard Raider fan and was very sad when we passed on Leinart. I believe arm strength is an overrated feature of a QB (especially when that throw is rarely made and your line is horrible) when drafting and intangibles such as character and leadership and playing in big games can be just as key. I honestly don't see this in JR and wouldn't invest a $27 mill signing bonus on such a risk, especially on a QB based on "upside" (i.e. see akili smith, ryan leaf, tim couch, etc) CJ is a significantly lower risk in my mind due to his talent, physical attributes, character and big game playmaking skills. He can be better than Tim Brown and if looking at WR's drafted in the top 5 the past few years, they are relatively safer picks than QB's. I know we are still in the hunt for a QB but still lets not throw away money at any young prospect out of college based on potential. We can fill out the position through trade (David Carr or Rodgers) at a lot lower financial risk. On the other hand, trading Moss leaves us a hole at WR and looking at the pool out there, not many candidates exist WR wise that can fill that role. Calvin Johnson is one that can fulfill that role. -
David Carr Being Shopped for a 3rd Round Pick
ajmplaya69 replied to IndyTom's topic in FFToday Board
I can see Carr in a Raiders uniform. Then Oakland can use the first pick to draft Joe Thomas and build up on that line.
