given the wording I think you have your bases covered but the question is do you really want to kick him out based on his actions, or are you worried about the potential for others to follow suit? Seems to me you are more worried about the latter, I would announce that the rule will be clarified in the off-season that starting bye week players is not allowed, but the potential for expulsion still remains and would be enforced if/when it appears it is being done to gain a competitive advantage by losing. Seems mostly like an non-issue though, people who want to tank a season could easily pick up a few garbage players or backups with little shot a PT and start them weekly but keep most of their roster in tact as opposed to trying to throw games by starting bye-week players. Maybe you have rules preventing that too, but I think the bye week thing isn't all that bad IMO. Just address it in the off-season so there's no question about the rules (or their intent) next time around.

    Long Question

You should grab Moore for possibility to help in future weeks as well. One other consideration, check your league to see if anyone who might be desperate for a RB (esp this week) and maybe you can work a trade for someone with a little higher upside @WR (2 birds). I'm hurting with both my starters on a bye, a few others in my league are shorthanded too.

Any injury update on Kevin Smith?

Smith (shoulder) hopes to be able to practice Wednesday, according to the Detroit Free Press. Spin: This seems like a very optimistic goal for Smith, who was unable to finish Sunday's contest against the Redskins. The second-year pro also suffered a minor knee injury in the game, though he was able to play through that until he injured the shoulder. If Smith is able to practice Wednesday, it would go a long way to easing our minds about his availability this weekend. You'll want to have another option ready to go, however.

    Dropping Eddie Royal

cutting bait. Agree with the OP thinking that the balls are being spread around too much and with Orton tossing em unlikely any of them are going to go for big yardage with any consistency. Prob will end up regretting it but burning a hole on my roster at the moment, particularly when I've started him the past 2 weeks. Will be dropping him for any one of Sims-Walker or Knox (Robinson already on my roster and Manningham picked up last week).

    Percy Harvin or Bernard Berrian?

Harvin, you have several solid options at WR, take a chance on Percy as a guy with potential for a lot of upside as we already know the coaching staff is looking for more ways to get him involved. May not pan out, but with Berrian he's prob no different from any of the others already on the roster.

Was this a cheap move by me during our auction draft?

? Dude needs to pay closer attention and spent a whole $2 on a guy who is looking like the #1 in NY? You shouldn't sweat it, silly and/or stupid for the guy to still be pissed

    Wk 1 WW Pickups

Kurt took a lot of hits and was picking himself up awfully slowly after each play (maybe that's his norm though). There were at least 2 times he was holding something after heading to the sidelines, one was his hand, other I can't remember. The hurts didn't seem to cause an issue later in the game but I don't think his body is up to the task of taking that kind of beating all yr and with the OL play, he could be looking at getting planted quite a bit this yr.

    Donovan McNabb - Broken Ribs

Cmon, the guy headed to the ground is aiming 3 yards deep into the endzone, not to mention he's headed towards the ground. And watch the replay, he's running parallel to the line and dives into the EZ to land on McNabb. NFL may not fine, but to say this is clean b/c the ref didn't put up the signal until after (really? a player's going to look to ref for TD signal during play) and the whistle may, or may not have blown is just BS. The 1st Panther appears to take a swipe at the ball and kinda lands on/close to McNabb b/c of his momentum, #92 didn't leave his feet until McNabb was on the ground (and well into the EZ) as was 5 yards away when DMcN crossed the GL. Blatantly cheap especially since he leads with the knee on his dive.

    MJD ranked 23rd in projections?

Just read that Bob Sanders is out, I'm expecting big things from MoJo this weekend Colts SS Bob Sanders (knee) has been ruled out for Week 1. Melvin Bullitt is an excellent IDP gamble against Jacksonville.

    Chris Henry

since you mentioned my dropping henry, figured I'd at least explain rationale. Henry will explode at some point, I'm certain of it, I'm just not sure I feel confident I'll be able to predict when it will happen from week to week. Knowing his path to production is more muddied than I expected makes me even less confident in predicting when to put him in. I'm going to go pick up Laurent Robinson, a guy who clearly hasn't shown as much as Henry to this point, but might have some nice upside and at least I know I can count on him being on the field. Still like Henry and plan to keep tabs, but the picture of his situation is a lot different than what I and it seems others assumed it was.

    Chris Henry

You are right, Palmer didn't play the last 3 but Henry's TD catch in the first game was from JTO'S and not Carsen. A minor correction too, Henry's 4th Q TD was in the 3rd game, not 4th. His TD in the 4th game came in the 2nd Q. Andre Calwell's TD in the preseason also came in that 4th game but in the 1st Q (opening drive). I like his upside if he gets the opportunity but seems like a lot more uncertainty about how much opportunity he'll get than I initially thought. Chris Henry

good info Tango, thanks for the posts. I had bought into Henry hype figuring he was locked in at #3 and might have more upside if Coles wasn't impressing. Checking the preseason game logs Henry caught his TDs from JT O'Sullivan (x2) and Jordan? Palmer (not Carsen). And his 4th TD came in the 4th Q of the game. It does not appear like he ever ran with the first team the entire preseason. He's also listed as the backup to Ocho and not Coles on the Bengals website depth chart, so I think the thought he might take reps from Coles is just blind optimism Looks like best case scenrio is he's in the doghouse and *might* get back to #3 if he stays out of trouble. Worst case is like you said, he's possibly splitting time as #3 or only coming off the bench when someone gets injured. Looks like I need a new WR#4.

Anybody have any injury updates on MJD?

not a homer, but here's this from CBS Sportsline: MJD only had 13 yards in Week 1 against the Titans and is clearly suffering from a weaker-than-expected offensive line in front of him. The line is missing three of its starters and it doesn't help that the Jags faced two of the tougher run defenses in the AFC to start the season. Hopefully things will get better in Week 3, but they'll travel to Indianapolis to face another tough defensive line. Consider Jones-Drew merely a 'flex' option in larger leagues until the Jaguars can sort out their offensive line struggles. The ankle injury is definitely something to keep an eye on, but he played through it on Sunday and should be OK. (Updated 09/14/2008).
  15. just as an fyi, Jones was last year's starter for the boys. It wasn't until the last part of the season that they finally came around and started giving MBIII more carries. This year, MBIII has been named starter and Felix's projected role appears to be diminishing (no longer a straight RBBC). Add in he's a rookie that still needs to learn the ropes for blocking etc and I would highly doubt Felix gets as many touches as JJ, but obviously he'll get some.
