  1. any more thoughts but one more thing this other team really wants santana but also has carson palmer. Should i go for palmer with eli or something like that?

If he really likes Santana why won't he just trade straight up? ADP isn't that far off between one or the other.

  2. Thanks sorry about the board. I dropped vince and got gore so that adds the depth. I was offered this trade. Drew Brees and Roy williams for Santana and Bulger///any thoughts the guy also has heath miller. Thanks for the help.

I guess this really depends on your own feelings. Personally I think Roy is ready to blow up (especially under the Martz system) and Santana is way over-valued. I like Bulger alot and think he is under-valued but he's also got some problems with his shoulder. Brees if healthy should put up similar numbers to Bulger considering Nola will be playing from behind quite a bit. I haven't really tracked Bree's in the pre-season so far so I'm not sure how he is post surgery.

TBH: I'd probably feel more confident with Bulger and Eli over Eli and Brees as I still don't see Eli having his breakout year yet. You're probably going to end up starting Bulger more then Eli over the course of the season.

If the other team is willing to swap out TE's as well I'd probably be more tempted to take the trade. You could always wait 2 or 3 weeks to see how Bree's looks in the pre-season and then make a move at that time too. If Bree's is healthy you would be getting the better end of the trade but at this point Bree's being healthy is a big if.

    Good luck.

  3. I really want Roy williams. Is it worth giving up santana for him? Also what about bulger for culpepper?

I'd rather have Roy then Santana so yes it is worth giving up if the guy is willing to trade. I'd also rather have Bulger then C-Pep so if I were you I'd stay put on that one. As far as your team I'd give it a 5 of 10. Like stated before your RB core could use a little depth. You also got alot of question marks with WR. I don't think Santana will come close to matching last years output (definitely more of a decent WR2/good WR3 then a WR1). Deion Branch and Jerry Porter haven't reported to camp yet and even if they do Branch isn't very consisten and Porter still has yet to put up a 1000 yard season in his career. Then to top it off you got the oft injured Glenn who is basically a WR3 for Dallas behind TO and Witten. Your TE is also not very good (I'd look to atleast get someone like Heath Miller/LJ Smith as a TE). I don't think this is a bottom of the league team but it definitely isn't a contender.

    :ninja:

    btw... WRONG FORUM. HTH

  4. I'm not too wild about the overall team, and I agree he reached in rounds 2-5 (especially with S.Moss and D.Mason IMHO). But I think all the bashers are ignoring the good value he got in later rounds. According to Antsports, for a 10-team league, C.Palmer's ADP is 4.06, and R.Bush is at 5.02, but the poster must've gotten them in rounds 6 & 7. Also, T.Jones' ADP is 7.03, but the poster must've gotten Jones in round 8.

Overall, instead of FWParker, S.Moss, and D.Mason, I would've rather seen Westbrook/McGahee/J.Jones/K.Jones in round 2, and Boldin/Chambers/Wayne/Ward in round 3, and Driver/J.Walker/A.Johnson in round 5, but this team is not as bad as people are suggesting. If Bush gets the starting job over McAllister, then he becomes your RB2, and this team looks pretty strong. (I'd still dump Moore and find another WR on the WW though ....)

He took Palmer in the 2nd :ninja: HTH

He did however get good value for D. Mason in the 7th. 7th rounder on a WR who has got 90+ for 6 straight years (even last year with Boller) and averaged 7+ TD's in 5 years with McNair on TEN. Now that's a good value if you ask me.

  5. Nice little write up. Not sure I buy into alot of your choices but you're definitely correct about the middle/late rounds.

Couple guys I like this year...

    RB:

    C. Dillon: Relative to where he is being drafted at this point (45-50th pick) he's a steal. Although admitably not in his prime he still ran in 12 in only 11 games last season. Even if Maroney steals some carries you know Dillon is still getting the goal-lines.

    D. Foster: Obviously durability is the concern with this guy. When he is healthy he's an elusive runner with break-out potential. Carolina is run focused with a good o-line and the defense to keep them in games. Sure Deangelo Williams is in the picture but the kid has never taken a snap in the NFL (or even been to an NFL game). However If you can get him as a cuff for cheap I wouldn't blame you.

    J. Lewis: I like Lewis alot in the third round to go with my stud RB/WR. He's what 26 years old and in his 6th season? The edition of McNair back with Mason and another talented young kid Clayton along with Heap is going to help the running game emmensely. Lewis has the size and durability to be a workhorse week in and week out. He might not see 2200 and 14 combined ever again but 1500 and 8-10 is very likely with the support he has around him now.

    WR:

Drew Bennett: I love this guy in the late 6th early 7th round. Him and Volek had amazing chemistry in 04 and Jeff Fisher is pretty much saying this is his time and his team. As long as Volek puts together a respectable first couple starts we shouldn't need to worry about Vince for the remainder of the season.

Derrick Mason: 5th round... 80+, 1100 and 7 average over 5 years as the #1 with McNair. Even last year with Boller throwing ducks to him he managed over 1000 yards and 85 receptions. Conservatively 1000 and 7 should be no problem this year.

maybe I'll add QB and TE later. now I got to bed :first:

  6. Not sure exactly which weeks Roaf missed last year but it was during the first third or so of the season. Checked out Priests stats during this period last year as well as Gonzo's and matched them to their stats with Roaf in the line up (for Holmes this meant '04 & '03) and there is a decent drop in both players stats. Trent Greens numbers also average below what he did the remainder of the year last season. This isn't the most accurate or reliable insight to offer but, as they say, once is a fluke, twice a coincidence and three times a trend. If I was in a position to draft LJ I would consider lowering my forecast on his yardage by 15% and TD's by maybe a little more.

I do think this will affect LJ's numbers but I think it impact's Gonz more. I don't even think Gonz went out for a 10 yard+ pass in any of the games Roaf missed last year. He took a few dumps from Green but pretty much just stayed in the pocket and blocked.

  7. Yeah, we should. Think of something clever.

How do we add our league to the list? :(

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm sure fellatio, and Mike are involved in one way or another.

  8. Let's discuss. I'd prefer to have 3 or 4 people in the money.

Who wants to take zmanzzz place? We just kicked him out!

    me too

not 4th though. 4th place is for asshats.

    maybe like. 325 1st. 175 2nd, 100 3rd (I think that equals 600 :()

I guess we can figure all this out once we get the league up. You just got me all focking giddy thinking about the football season now!

Hall of Fame game next Sunday!
